Moorside Cottage is a beautiful stone cottage dating from circa. 1760. The cottage is in the heart of the pretty village of Ampleforth, with two pubs, a well stocked village store and a lovely coffee shop. This spacious cottage filled with light, it has recently been renovated by the owners Chris & Alison who have created a real home from home. The sitting room has a log burner and comfy sofas for relaxing at the end of a day out walking, while the separate dining room looks out over the village and is perfect for gathering together to catch up on the days adventures. The three bedrooms are an oasis of calm, tastefully decorated with a restful palette and enjoy lovely views out over the village and the pretty garden. The second bathroom is also on the first floor, it has a luxurious walk in shower, perfect for an invigorating start to the day. Outside you will find a pretty terraced garden with a table and chairs for al fresco dining while the bench under the arbour is the perfect spot for enjoying a sundowner as you take in the delights of this lovely garden. Opposite the cottage is Heart’s Coffee House serving excellent coffee, delicious food and daily baked bread which is always a fast sell-out! The village also provides a well-stocked shop and Post Office, a five minute walk from the property. Both village pubs, The White Swan and The White Horse Inn, have reputations for good food. Ampleforth Abbey has been home to a Community of Benedictine monks since 1802. The Abbey church is open to visitors who might like to simply look around. Explore the beautiful lakes, trails and woodlands or join a behind the scenes tour of the Abbey’s orchards and Cider Mill to see how Ampleforth Abbeys’ famous cider and cider brandy is made. Visitors can take advantage of the sports centre facilities at Ampleforth College and within a 5 mile radius there is fishing, pony trekking, golf, cycle hire and the newly opened cycle trails from Sutton Bank National Parks Centre.
