Score from 20 reviews Exceptional
The staff were very friendly and gave excellent, unobtrusive service. The manageress was extremely helpful and found out for us when the Pictish museum at Portmahomack opened (9 miles away) - this museum is an absolute must for anyone interested in the Picts and their important historical sites.
The clinging shower curtains - were clean but could be replaced by a glass panel on the bath. Tiling needs replacing on bathroom floor and the toilet seat was not the correct one and needs to be replaced (room 28).
Food was excellent, great breakfasts,
The road signage approaching from the north was broken or obscured, needs to be fixed, Porterage could be included, steep stairs with a heavy bag.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Great food. Comfortable rooms.
Very large meal portions, good fish pie but more than I could eat. Large and tasty cooked breakfast Friendly restaurant and reception desk staff
Room was a little noisy, could here people coming back to their rooms at 1am (woke me up)
Lovely hotel with a great atmosphere and wonderful service. We had our evening meal at the hotel and it was excellent as was the breakfast.
Excellent visit and very much appreciated the attention that the staff paid to detail.First class breakfast set me up for the day.No hesitation in recommending this charming hotel.
Downsize good. Food good but lacked choices.
WEBSITE MANY YEARS OUT OF DATE. I restaurant instead of 2 and no table d.hotel. Restaurant staff require basic training ie they don't take someone's plate when the other one is still eating. They should have been in uniform. The ensuite bathroom lino says split in several places. The toilet seat didn't fit. It was odd.The carpet was frayed and the curtains were thread bare.
Geräumige Zimmer Sehr gutes Nachtessen
Friendly, helpful staff. Large, clean, comfortable room. Quiet location. Excellent food, well-presented with friendly attentive staff both at dinner and breakfast.
Ambience excellent, made very welcome. Food in the restaurant was very good, well presented and beautifully cooked. Were happy to give smaller portions off main menu at reduced price. Large very comfortable bedroom.
Small screen TV
Rambling Scottish character. Nice room.
Off hand staff, run down public areas and grounds, poor food.
A pleasant hotel with good but not gastronomic food. A spacious room with twin beds and two armchairs. A good one night stop.
I had booked a double not a twin room. The one small window meant the room was dark. The bathroom was dated and clumsily converted for the disabled which we are not. Poor soundproofing from the floor above.
THE ROOM WAS LOVELY . THE STAFF WERE VERY EFFICENT AND PROFESSIONAL . THE EVENING MEAL WAS EXCELLENT AND BREAKFAST ALSO . GIVING YOU A GOOD START FOR THE DAY
the sad piano sat in the corner desperately needing some serious T.L.C.
Food, bed, bar
WiFi didn't work as advertised, either in the room or any public places. If you advertise free wifi please ensure that it works. TV in the room far too small and too low down. Could not view it for a lying position on bed
we had a very spacious twin room and a nice bathroom; the staff were very friendly; good breakfast (except for the instant coffee)
quite remote without much to do around; the hotel was hard to find because all the signs were hidden by bushes and trees
Good hotel, friendly staff.
Too quiet for us.
Large rooms. Close to Glenmorangie distillery.
Big and clean rooms. Good restaurant. Nice environment.
Little outdated facilities but well mantained.
Lovely old style hotel with tasteful extentions. Good food and helpful staff. Very comfortable and reasonably priced.
Wifi in the main house not very good but no problem in our friends room or public areas,
Very nice building tall ceilings warm welcome and very helpful staff. Very goodfood
A tad expensive
Staff friendly and helpful
Rooms rather dated
Meals were good
Couldn't open the windows, hot and stuffy overnight , wifi only worked near reception
Lovely Welcome and helpful girl at Reception when a loud American was taking up the other receptionists time for ages. Also I was not well at dinner and the staff were so kind and helpful
Midges in the garden!
Quality and quantity of food Nice dining-room in bright conservatory
Lack of lift 10-minute walk to town centre Bedroom dark and old-fashioned Hard mattress
