Location was perfect Our bedroom we were given was spot on, spacious and good views. Nice and helpfull staff. Breakfast was good. Hotel was full of character and kept very clean Bed - Matress was tired and uncomfortable. We stayed 3 nights and had we stayed longer would have had to ask for a change of matress.

The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. The location is good with easy access to the main road and a short walk into town. The restaurant food was good for dinner and breakfast. Minor points really but the decor is getting a little tired in places and the garden at the front could be doing with a bit of a tidy up.

The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The food was very good. The room was spotless. There was plenty parking. The hotel was easy to find and is in a good location. The double bed was two singles locked together and was rather uncomfortable if you moved to the middle. The hotel needs a bit of money spent on it.

I liked that it had an 'oldy-worldy' feel to it and that it was cosy. And the breakfast was delicious. The car park could do with being resurfaced as it was wet when we stayed and we ended up with chalky/sludgy muck all over and inside the car. The bathroom was very dated and the shower was poor. The water kept going off and there was hardly any pressure. And the mattress on the bed was hard and not very comfortable.

Very friendly staff in reception, bar and restaurant. We got a complimentary update which was appreciated. The food was lovely and good value. The selection of malts in the bar was excellent. Thanks for a lovely stay. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great and we could have done with some more heating in the dining room later in the evening as it started to get chilly.

it is a traditional type hotel with a warmth that I don't experience at "flat pack" facilitites like Premier. I stayed there 6 years ago and pleased to say ambience and food remain excellent the front garden ground wasn't very attractive although my stay was end of season

The room shared with a friend was large and spacious, well appointed and with wonderful views. Towels changed every day.The staff were friendly and helpful. We thought the food was excellent. Location good for touring the North of Scotland and also Inverness area. Tain is a pleasant town. The slight drawback was that although our room was large and spacious, the bathroom was a little on the small side. No shelves or ledges to place toilet bags, etc. The wc took time to refill so did not flush on use.

It suited us very well and room size was excellent. Our purpose was to visit nearby places which we know well and enjoy. One of the receptionists in particular was very helpful in updating us on local interest spots.

Convenient location for visiting the Balblair and the Glenmorangie Distilleries. The exterior and parts of the interior of the building could do with a freshening up.

Nice Hotel with large rooms and good restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Wifi worked well and plenty of parking. Good location for falls of Shin and the Glenmorangie distillery. Friendly, helpful staff. Slightly dated bathrooms - but still very functional. Access to rooms with luggage not easy; a long walk and lots of stairs.
