Moreig Hotel  

Good, well run hotel with excellent staff, ample car parking and a good restaurant. Food was good - both dinner and breakfast.

Bit of a walk into Dumfries centre 10-15 minutes and on main roads.

Due to the cost, I did not really have high expectations, which proved correct.

Old, tired and fusty smelling

Booked 2 nights at Moreig to visit family who live on Annan Road, found hotel room was well equipped and staff helpful and friendly - breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from on the menu.Only downside was on the 1st night there was a party/disco on until the early hours and I was not able to sleep for the noise, also on the Monday morning was woken by someone's alarm at 06:00hrs - it would appear that the sound proofing is not so good. Would book again though.

Lovely friendly staff. Bedroom was large clean and well equipped. It's about a 5 minute walk into the shops.

Great hotel. Friendly helpful staff . Easy parking. Clean and comfortable . Lots of little extras like sweeties in the room. Had to stay an extra night in the area do booked again without hesitation. Recommended

Superb Hotel in Dumfries. The ambience is cosy and welcoming , the rooms in excellent condition and the food very good - Breakfast is superb and keeps you going until late in the day. A very warm welcome when we arrived and a lovely bar and restaurant. Car parking is on site and hard standing which is nice. We certainly plan to go there again - we used it as a base for Birdwatching on the Solway coast over the weekend. Highly recommended

Nothing to complain about at all

The immaculate presentation of the room and the communal areas was notable. Staff friendly but relaxed. Slightly surprised that not asked if we wished to book dinner when we arrived and had not realised the size of the restaurant. We had other plans on this occasion but would try the evening meal next time. Our room was quiet despite being above the kitchen. Excellent parking and close to the town centre but with easy access to the ringroad.

The friendly,helpful staff and the pleasant ambiance of the hotel itself. The meals were of a very good quality and all the facilities in the room were of a high standard. I will certainly stay there again when in the region and will recommend it to all my friends and associates

No problem moving rooms for an elderly relative who struggled with the stairs

We booked on bed and breakfast basis, lunch and evening meals are also available, our room was comfortable and clean and staff helpful easy access to Dumfries shopping centre by car (no car park fees either) !

Great staff. Good room and breakfast. Would stay again.
