Moreig Hotel  

Due to the cost, I did not really have high expectations, which proved correct.

Old, tired and fusty smelling

The style of the hotel together with the excellent full breakfast.

The room was very clean and tidy and the breakfast was huge! Lovely dining room and in-house dinner menu was very reasonably priced, Very courteous and helpful staff.

Very nice, quiet and comfortable hotel. Good value with an excellent breakfast. Just nicely out of Dumfries but handy for town and beautiful surrounding countryside. I don't know why this region is seemingly so underestimated. Would diffinitely come back again. Thank you!

Just back from two night stay,my wife and I will definitely return the staff were very friendly and helpful .Food in the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. A special mention for Hazel who welcomed us and served at the bar! The room was clean and comfy, Breakfast was fine, No complaints at all .a few minutes walk from the centre of Dumfries.Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Very helpful staff on arrival and for the duration of our stay, our room was clean and tastefully decorated with modern furniture. Dinner was excellent value with a very good choice of meals at very competitive prices. Would I recommend the Moreig Hotel to our friends - Yes. Would I stay again at he Moreig Hotel - Yes - most definately.

Quiet, comfortable, excellent restaurant, good private parking. The Wi- Fi connection was faultless and a flatscreen tv with all channels in the rooms. Friendly attentive staff.

The double glazed widow in my room, although closed properly, was letting in a howling gale, strong enough to move the vertical blinds. It was a stormy night, and was not noticeable the following evening.

Comfortble, clean, excellent food and beautifully cooked.

Booked 2 nights at Moreig to visit family who live on Annan Road, found hotel room was well equipped and staff helpful and friendly - breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from on the menu.Only downside was on the 1st night there was a party/disco on until the early hours and I was not able to sleep for the noise, also on the Monday morning was woken by someone's alarm at 06:00hrs - it would appear that the sound proofing is not so good. Would book again though.

Everthing...Both my husband and I were very pleased with our stay . We thought your staff were just wonderful. especially the breakfast waitress, and Chef, who came out to speak to us. Having had 40 years Hotel experience I notice more than most guests, but still say you are fortunate to have such staff. Best Wishes, Eileen and John McGillivray.

Pleasant friendly reception on arrival. Excellent food, comforable rooms. Will be back in the near future.

Good, well run hotel with excellent staff, ample car parking and a good restaurant. Food was good - both dinner and breakfast.

Bit of a walk into Dumfries centre 10-15 minutes and on main roads.

The immaculate presentation of the room and the communal areas was notable. Staff friendly but relaxed. Slightly surprised that not asked if we wished to book dinner when we arrived and had not realised the size of the restaurant. We had other plans on this occasion but would try the evening meal next time. Our room was quiet despite being above the kitchen. Excellent parking and close to the town centre but with easy access to the ringroad.
