Welcoming, great history, the Hall dating back to 16th century, comfortable room, with a nice sitting room down stairs. good dinner and breakfast.
Felt a little cool when we entered, no heating to turn on as central heating, light in bathroom went out, told they are refurbishing rooms later this year.
The room was spaceous and well presented. Breakfast was excellent.
Hot water was only luke warm for early evening shower. But was much hotter in the morning. A very minor detail in a building of its age.
There's nothing to dislike - immediately feels like home from home as soon as you walk in. The food incredible and everyone we met was welcoming and friendly.
Spacious, comfortable cottage.
Could do with a bit of an update. A bit overpriced.
We stayed at Moresby Hall as we were in the area for my parents Golden Wedding anniversary. The building was stunning and the rooms are on par with the best London has to offer. The owners David and Jane are the perfect hosts and nothing is to much trouble for them. Will most definately stay here again.
Fabulous old building, full of character but supported by state of the art brand new facilities (e.g. the bathroom shower) Large plasma TV, perfect mobile phone signal (not always the case in large stone building in the sticks!) Very attentive and friendly staff, great breakfast. Quiet and peaceful surroundings.
Nothing to report, it was all good.
Stunning building Comfortable room Excellent bathroom Polite and helpful staff Nice breakfast Lovely owners Brilliant amenities
The staff were so helpful and such nice people... Also the breakfast was amazing! Beautiful building, definitely recommend this place...
Warm comfortable stay, pleasant people, like going back in time.. In a good way. Would recomend to friends and family. Would go again!
The breakfast was very tasty just wasn't enough for us.. But only a very small downside!
Everything. The staff and the owners where all very friendly. Food was excellent. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean and spacious..
Rooms, music, breakfast decor
Very friendly owners who did their best to welcome us even when our train was cancelled and we arrived very late to Whitehaven. Nice and filling breakfast. We appreciated home made jams and the fruit salad. On Sunday on our leaving the receptionist came to us with a doggy bag filled with delicious fresh pastry. Thank you, Eugen!
There were no ghosts in the house!
Very tired poor location
Everything about the place was special and everyone was very friendly and belpful which you remember.
Nothing that needs mentioning
Lovely building, nice big comfy four poster bed, nice shower, friendly owners
Only one suggestion - advise people to use the designated parking lot beside the building. Cars parked in front killed the charm a little bit and the building is wonderful to look at!
The owners and staff were very helpful and even bought me some gluten free biscuits
Location was excellent, Whitehaven was a let down but that's not the halls fault, the staff were amazing an very friendly
Don't think it was particularly worth the money paid but was still a great place to stay
We were upgraded to a larger cottage. Plenty of room with well-appointed rooms.
Kitchen, in particular, could have been cleaner, especially around the cooker and counter.
Meal very good. Friendly people
No heating on. Room not 5*
No hot water when trying to shower
Dean was superb, he did everything he could to welcome us and help us the best way he could. He also cooked a wonderful breakfast in the morning. He's a real asset to moresby hall.
Full of history and grandure, friendly hosts. Excellent breakfast.
Hand held shower and scalding water when the guest in the next room turns on their cold water.
We liked the old country house setting, the grounds are lovely, the bedrooms are massive and the staff are attentive and eager to help with any queries or advise on places to eat locally. It is
The four poster bed was great to look at and comfortable to sleep in, but if you were looking to be a little bit more active whilst occupying the bed you would have to endure the noisiest squeeking bed ever, which to be honest was kind of a passion killer lol.
An amazing property with a sea view. Plush and luxurious accommodation that I would not hesitate to stay at again. The staff are all very welcoming and the freshly cooked breakfast was Perfect
