Excellent service. Bed was very comfortable and the room met our needs
Room sevice food was very poor
Staff were very friendly and welcoming
Bed was too soft
Room with mezzanine floor with bedroom on Mezzanine Extra TV on Mezzanine Good sized room Nice breakfast Good price £91 for four inc B/fast !!
bit cobwebby on ceiling but not that bothered I suppose ever so slightly tired
We only booked here as a 'last resort' as we were attending a Xmas party at another nearby hotel which was fully booked. My initial thoughts that this looked a bit 'motel-like' and cheap were dispelled. The room was huge and spacious (and warm on a v cold night), bed was comfy and big. The shower was very good (powerful and hot). I was also impressed by the food and drink at the attached pub the Lord Moreton (10% discount for residents). Overall more impressed than I'd expected to be.
No real downside, but the 'dormer' layout, while novel, did mean the need for sneaking up and down the creaky staircase to go to the loo in the night - a very small gripe though!
The food facilities were good. Enjoyed the Lord Moreton pub next door.
Not very well signposted from the road.
Convenience of location for our purpose
Bathroom being on different level to beds. Overcome by using sofabed on lower level
Problem with the heating
access to lions quays facilty good pub
Value for money and location
Slow service at restaurant and arguing couple in room above
Good en-route central location. Next to main road but no real noise issues. Adjoining garden centre an attraction to wander round, esp if it's wet with cafe for coffee/ lunch. Chirk just down the road and half an hour drive to Chester. Restaurant next door has lots of choice with plentiful buffet breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Good facilities in the bedroom with biscuits! Easy to check in and out. Have stayed here before and would recommend. Good value for a motel in a tourist area.
Traffic noise from trucks all night
The Hotel was excellent. The bedroom could have been warmer, but no complaints. We would be happy to stay again.
The staff in the restaurant need to have a lot more training, the service of the evening meal could have been better if some young 12-13 year olds did the job. We would not plan to have another evening meal at the restaurant in the future.
Perfectly located for visiting the many attractions of the area. The staff are extremely helpful, the Pub /Restaurant serves excellent ales and food. Steak is highly recommendable.
Furnishings and décor looking tired in areas.
beds comfy, staff friendly, clean room
we have been here before and we went to use the spa and pool at the sister hotel only a few mins away in the car, this time we could not use the pool as it was so cold it was not heated at all very disappointing ,
Felt secure as travelling alone and the 24 hour reception was nice to have if you needed it. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Bedding and towels very white and clean. Room warm and heat adjusted well.
Breakfast poor as it was cooked and you helped yourself and at 8.20 am it was obvious that some stuff had been there since 7.00am. Some stuff in pans was cold. Pillows themselves had a bit of an odour so could be a change there
The staff were friendly
The bed has to be the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep in
room was brilliant, clean and tidy, very spacious. swimming pool and hot tub and sauna was out of this world!
needed to leave early both mornings, breakfast wasn't available, some hotels would give u a bowl and a celection of cereals to do yourself in the room. or perhaps a toaster?
Size of room
Noise from road General shabby feel of hotel Very creaky floor on mezzanine Would move bed downstairs and lounge area up; so that bed is on same level as bathroom.
bed was great,food fab
slightly gone down since last visit maybe a refurb is due
Heated floor in bathroom! rally of Wales marshalls safety cars in car park. Great food. All very exciting!
Nice leisure favilities
It sounded like the people in the room next door were literally in our room. They were talking until 2am and we could hear every word. Awful nights sleep.
The food was good and excellent value, very helpful and Pleasent staff. Clean room
Very noisy from the road we asked to be moved which we were for next night, so book for room over car park. The beds were very uncomfortable, my partner slept on top of douvet covered with towels for blankets, which thankfully were good towels
