Excellent, friendly staff. excellent food and facilities
Stayed at the Mortimer and must say all the staff were excellent and very very friendly , i had to cut short my stay due to oersonal circumstance and in my rush to get home i left several shirts in the room , the staff contacted me and my items were delivered to my home within four days , greatly appreciated , oh and as for the food , one word - excellent !!
Rooms a bit dated
The evening meal was very good and restaurant staff pleasant. Breakfast was good, if limited. Excellent shower!
The location was not suitable for us. We wanted a quiet, country location but this was near major roads and a motorway junction, as well as being adjacent to an industrial unit and an amusement park so nowhere to walk. The room we had was very cramped and dark. The bathroom was small, no bath and a cracked wash basin.
Food was very good and staff friendly.
Very nosy, could hear people talking in the restaurant below from our bedroom.
Food was good but a bit pricey, staff for the most part excellent. Room fine.
Grossly overcharged for a soft drink and beer - (J20 + Crabbies Ginger beer - £7!!!). As result, refused to order any drinks for our evening meal. Only the following morning, after complaining 3 times did the person accepting the payment of my bill for accommodation check the price, and gave me back £1.80 from the till!! - Well done that lady!
Leaving the next day
No wi-fi ,party in function room , noisey
Great staff and friendly excellent food, we really enjoyed our breakfast. Excellent for pre cruise stay to get our holiday off to a great start.
Enamel chips on bath did not look inviting!
Location obviously superb, nice rooms, great breakfast
Shower head faulty
Very good room rate.
The food was pretty expensive
Staff. Were really helpful , food was excellent and plentiful , the full English sets you up for the day and the evening meals beautifully cooked. The bed very comfortable , lovely nights rest .
Price of bar drinks . food droppings in the bar area under the tables not a very good standard for the area expected better
Good food in restaurant. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Room a good size and good shower. Will definitely stay again when in that area.
Food was very good, surroundings seemed fine though I was only there from 7.30pm for a meeting following day. Staff helpful at breakfast
I was in a room that sounded like it had a wild party going on next door. Turned out the stairs from the restaurant were adjacent to the wall my bed headboard was against. A very noisy group meant I couldn't settle - or even think! Hotel full so they couldn't move me. Staff could not help - can't blame the party but take care not to stay in that room.
Manager was very welcoming and helpful
Clearly we were given the box room/storage room that was besides the pubs toilets and our patio door was across from the area that the pubs staff went out for a smoke. Bar staff weren't the friendliest
Very close to Paultons park.
The hotel is very tired and tatty and quite expensive for what it offers a very basic room! The breakfast was nice it has to be said but the food in the evening was average and expensive. If I was going back to Paultons park I would stay at the premiere inn two minutes down the road.
the staff were great, the food good and it is in a good position
décor a bit tired, chair with holes in the upholstery in the corridor and lots of marks on the walls, also my wardrobe was totally full of a huge fan, blankets duvets pillows so no room at all for clothes. Our room was fine but it could have done with a picture or two on the walls just to make it a bit less utilitarian.
A comfortable hotel with friendly attentive staff and excellent food.
Good parking, easy to find, friendly staff, good breakfast
Extremely loud noise throughout the night, making very difficult to sleep. No noise in day, so something they do by night. Restaurant rather expensive for what's on offer.
The food in the restaurant was very good, maybe slightly overpriced.
The room was over the kitchen and may have been the reason it was so hot in there. Also the extract duct ran behind the wall and was extremely noisy. this only shut off at 10:30pm and was back on at 07:00am
Receptionist very good advised us when to eat so we avoided all the children. Showed us to our room.
Very slow service in restaurant.
Very friendly comfortable hotel with a good restaurant, excellent choice of menu. Would definately stay again if in the area.
Close to a theme park lots of families with young children visiting peppa pig world! The hotel is not in Romsey as advertised.
Very nice and friendly staff in the morning, serving good breakfast. Excellent location for those travelling to Peppa Pig park.
Overall decent experience, however there are lots of little but important things which shouldn't happen at the 4 star hotel. Not very friendly staff in the evening, a smile on the face would definitely help, perhaps they should learn from the staff who works in the morning. We could hear noisy aircon unit right outside our room window, it was going on and off all night, therefore difficult to sleep. Room was tiny, hardly any space to move at all. Sink in the bathroom is cracked in several places. Not sure why this hotel claims to have 4 stars, it's definitely not more than 2 star. Food in the bar is overpriced, even for this area (but I must say the food was nice - thanks to the chef!). We found similar pub / hotel nearby where all food was much cheaper (half price of what we paid at Mortimer Arms).
staff were freindly
beer was expensive, not really a pub but a restaurant, a t bone steak £30 !!!!????
good menu choice
room 12 was a bit noisy when the ventilation kicked in
