very friendly and helpful owner and staff - it was quiet and good value for money

Very friendly staff, good size, en-suite room, clean.

Road and parking just outside made it noisy, bed was not very comfortable, not able to adjust heating made it too hot in the morning

Most of the staff were very helpful and welcoming Room was clean and warm

Breakfast chef needs a lesson in customer care ! Breakfast itself was good however the toast would have been enjoyed if it hadn't come out 30 mins after the cooked food !

Smell of fat. Greasy breakfast. Misleading name - not mossy, not a cottage, but a large, modern pub.

Tv did not work properly. Sink plug got stuck. No heating in room, but ok under the duvet no soap in room, but ok as I had brought some with me

The booking system fouled up! Several bookings (including mine) were incorrectly cancelled. I had to stay in a barely ready room for the first night. Also they did not advertise that they had a breakfast room.

No heating. Very cold. Apparently been like it for months!!! Not impressed.

The heating was broken with no Gas There were contractors staying there and they were drunk and one was asleep at our door? No hot water? Very disappointed in the hotel. My first booking with booking.com!!!!!

The location was good for my business needs. It was quiet.

They wanted full payment up front upon my arrival in cash. This was the first time in England that this has ever happened. I wasn't prepared and didn't have the full amount in cash, and it was awkward. They made me feel like we weren't to be trusted, wierd.

This place is very run down and in need of refurbishment. There was a strange smell in the corridor that thankfully didn't make its way into the room but did serve to turn the stomach while passing through. Once in the room it was generally run down (and mainly for no reason other than complacency) there was an electric heater hanging off the wall (easily sorted if the management could be bothered) and only one towel despite the room being booked for two (once again not really rocket science). The bed had seen better days too with every spring making itself known and virtually no support offered by the mattress. The radiator in the bathroom wasn't on even though the weather outside was below freezing all evening, needless to say the room was cold. Overall pretty shabby at the moment and not worth the asking price by a long way

Really nice guys and helpful with our problems, though one of the rooms was very cold. Will probably go there again next year!

the hotel stunk of cat urine and the mattresses were stained and disgusting. the sole staff member that we saw tried to say they had had A leak and that was the smell but it was genuinely cat urine.

The mattresses in our were of very poor quality and springs would dig into your back, very poor shower and mould and tiles need cleaning in shower.

We only booked for one night to attend a nearby wedding, a very friendly, comfortable place to stay, staff very friendly, they had a problem with the gas heating but the staff had put heaters in all rooms and it was very warm and cosy, breakfast well good, will stay again.

nothing special , but very good value for money

The guy that run it was under pressure as he seemed to be doing everything cooking,running the Bar, on reception. But the Carpet in our room needed cleaning and i think the heating wasent working because of the heaters around the place. when we had Breakfast there was no Sugar or milk on the table and we had to make the tea ourselves, but on saying that the guy was very pleasant with a bit of TLC I think the place could be ok .

The willingness of the owner to make sure that we had everything we needed and attention to our comfort. Particularly impressed by fact that he had taken trouble, without asking, to place us in a room where we would not be disturbed by music from an 18th birthday party

The mattress was a little lumpy - perhaps a padded mattress cover would help, rather than just a thin sheet straight on the mattress.

Excellent standards, friendly team who managed to prepare a room for a 2nd nights stay with only 30mins notice. Definitely value for money.
