Moss Grove Organic Hotel

It was in the centre of Grassmere and provided good access to the lakes. Hotel was clean and tidy with helpfull staff.

Door on the bathroom was not very good , glass and did not fit the fylly. In the room with the four poster you could not see the tv as one of the post was in the way!!

The Moss Grove isn't really a hotel, it's more a luxurious Bed & Breakfast, it's for the discerning traveller who wants all the qualities of a 5 star without the pampering, who want to do their own thing, and relax in quality accommodation.

It is completely miss-represented as a Hotel, this is a b&b, not a hotel and is therefore very overpriced. I would never have paid this price if I knew that it was a b&B. Very disappointing! However it is a very nice b&b!

The 'organic' buffet breakfast was fantastic, friendly staff and first rate facilities to hand, highly recommended.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. They suggested places to go in the area and we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed in the suite with the hot tub which was fantastic and highly recommended.

The only thing I would say is the breakfast. I like the fact of helping yourself and the coffee was lovely. Some of the items were not to our preference but eing an organic hotel this was to be expected.

The overall charm of the hotel, The quality of the room and the customer service. The breakfast! A real learning curve for myself and my wife and one we really enjoyed.

As stated above: the complete friendliness of the staff from the moment we arrived, to the beautifully designed, clean, spacious room and the fantastic breakfast buffet.

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom warm and the shower good. The dining-sitting room was light and comfortable. The staff member was attentive and helpful.

The living flame fire had died. Breakfast involved a bit of jockeying for position as there were no set tables, just one large and three occasional. Self service involved a potentially shattering negotiation of a tight bend between kitchen and hallway before breaking out onto the blessed wide plain of the lobby. Our room, at the back, was dark.

Staying at the Moss Grove was a unique experience. The location is fantastic: right in the middle of Grasmere, making it very central for walks and shops. Staff are friendly and attentive, and the rooms are well-equipped, very clean, and comfortable.

Our bathroom, although lovely, was very large and did not have a door. Didn't like this at all. Also, the serve-yourself breakfast was cumbersome -- manouvering around the other guests and kitchen was quite awkward. Rooms were also very warm.
