Moss Lodge  

Lovely hotel, well decorated, very clean, full of character. Welcoming and helpful staff. Coffee /tea making facilities in room, including fresh milk (in fridge). Good sized single room - double bed.

Very well run and friendly establishment.

The staff are unimaginably pleasant and helpful. They're local people to whom nothing is too much trouble and, which explains why Moss Lodge has so many frequent and regular guests.

Very limited menu.

Fantastic room, which was lovely, clean and extremely well presented. All fixtures and fittings were first class. All of the staff we spoke to were polite and friendly. The food from the restaurant was also excellent. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Staff were very welcoming but discreet. They went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and pleasant. My room was clean and nice touches like freshly ground coffee in its own filter machine and fresh milk in a little jug in the room fridge add to the quality of the hotel. The food is excellent - mouthwatering and beautifully cooked. All in all, a lovely quiet hotel away from the main town centre - my second visit on business and it wont be my last! Thank you - highly recommended.

Moss Lodge is conveniently located near M60 & M62. It has its own gated parking. The room was clean, a bit noisy from 6.30AM when the ventilation of the kitchen was turned on... WiFi is free and it works smoothly.

The atmosphere at Moss Lodge is relaxed and intimate as the house's brochure boasts, yet not sophisticated (contrary to what it also boasts). As soon as the guest walks through the door with bags in hands, he is presented with a form, "read it & sign there!", that you won't steal, smoke or do other things which a normal guest won't usually do. A bit abrupt a welcome. Although Moss Lodge supposedly offers 14 guest rooms, you are presented with one and have apparently no choice, even though your room's window may be on the very small side, the view not very attractive and - as I found out early morning - a bit noisy with the kitchen's ventilation being turned on. The same relaxed however brusque manner goes for the staff in the restaurant. All in all, the place is friendly for sure, sophisticated would require extra staff coaching and work.
