Excellent room with every home comfort you could ask for including electric blanket
We did not book breakfast but understood it would be available if we wanted it but on arrival we were told that breakfast wasn't available although we did have tea coffee etc in room . Heating didn't come on till 5 at night and about 9 in morning although there was an electric heater in room
I received a very warm welcome, the room was beautiful.
Breakfast isn't served in the winter.
Landlady was so kind and helpful
Finding that location is a bit difficult but if you have a navigation you can handle it
Nice quite location with beautiful accommodation and very friendly and helpfull staff. Also electric blankets provided in a very comfortable bed.
Breakfast not provided in the winter months but can understand the reason given but supply of tea, coffee and biscuits available
Bus 31 access to City Center average 32 mins, guest house 7 mins walk to Bromiknowe bus stop. Room is big that surprised my wife. It's super clean. Bathroom is big, clean and toiletres provided. My wife liked the 3 huge victorian mirrors. Coffe tea facilities with biscuits, milk, tea and coffee is a good extra. Bed has built in electic heating our first time experience. Good value for money, quite,a bit distant but pretty accessible to city center up to midnight. Airport is 15 mins by taxi for 25-28 pounds. The hotel owner Ruth is so helpful answering our phone inquiries and she even picked us up by her car when we got lost in Bonnirigg area. Thank you so much we really enjoyed our 1 night stay during our 1st wedding anniversary and at the same celebratingbmy wife's birthday. Highly recommended also to all my friends and families in the Philippines.
Fantastic comfortable bed, welcoming host, lovely house, fabulous breakfast!
Very freindly very comfy excellent will defo be staying again
A very modern new bathroom with lovely walk in shower. Warm room with comfortable bed. All you may need was provided for. All was very clean and tidy. A lovely cooked breakfast with a host of fresh fruit and cereals.
A good B&B with everything that provided everything you could want. The breakfast was very good, with a wide selection of fruits.
An excellent B and B, the owner tries to accommodate all your needs. A great breakfast with a fantastic selection of fruit. A lovely home and close to the bus stop if you do not want to use a car.
- the owner (nice lady) - the room was small but very good - great breakfast
There is nothing to dislike about the Mount Ceres guesthose, everything was as it should be, a warm welcom, exceptionally clean and comfortable room of very generous size, wonderfully friendly and helpful owner who cannot do enough to make your stay pleasent, full marks!
comfort of a true home, lovely place. The owner us supremely helpful. Breakfast cooked to order was excellent. Location is a bit of the beaten track, but only 10 min or so from Rosslyn Chapel. Very nice garden. Superb value for money. The night was extremely quiet.
We were so impressed by the lovely warm welcome we received after a long journey. The room was very comfortable and well equipped and absolutely spotless and well maintained. The room looked out over the fabulous garden that was available for guests to use. We definitely want to come back. Thank you Ruth.
Melville is a gorgeous room. Full Scottish breakfast was excellent. Choice of cereals, fresh fruits, breads and teas available fantastic. Ruth and her assistant were both very helpful and nice.Very close to bus stop to Edinburgh ( half hour trip).
The beautiful hallway and landing would look less cluttered without the big baskets of linen etc. ( very minor complaint). Compared to the extremely generous size of Melville, Rosslyn seemed quite small. ( though still a lovely well appointed room).
Clean home from home feeling. Good Breakfast and nice staff.
Limited Parking for Vans. A bit tight so was asked to Park in the garden to make room for other guests. This would be ok if nothing of vaule was in your van. Small complaint though. Have to take smaller van next time.
Well appointed rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly home.
Took my little puppy to this fab guest house and was greeted with a wonderful welcome. A little field next door provided a great place to stretch his legs, and the accommodation was second to none - the owner clearly works tirelessly to make it an absolutely perfect escape for visitors. Beautiful gardens, lovely location - I only wish I could have stayed longer! Fab breakfast.. and while others have complained about parking, if the guest house was totally full then parking can be found nearby - we had a little vehicle switch around and all was perfect. Really pleased and hope to visit again!
The host was most helpful in recommending the best places to eat locally and advised us that the best and cheapest way to travel into Edinburgh was by bus.
The owner is very friendly and accommodating. The house is clean, comfortable and quaint. The room we had was very comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate. We were given multiple options for breakfast and all were very good.
This B&B is a bit out of the way and can be fun to first locate. Parking was at first tight, but the owner opened more parking area, so that ceased to be an issue.
Parking wasn't the best
We loved our stay here. Absolutely stunning gardens, such a nice way to relax after a long day touring Edinburgh. We stayed in the family en-suite and the room was spacious and beautiful. Breakfast is served in a lovely windowed patio room overlooking the garden. The home is in a nice area with beautiful homes. A pub and a bistro are a few minutes walk. Bus stop is a three minute walk, buses leave every 15 minutes and take you straight into the city in 20 minutes or so. (I drove all over Scotland without trouble but would not want to drive in Edinburgh so the ease to use the bus is great.)
Our 3-day stay at Mount Ceres was a highlight, mostly because of Ruth, the hostess. She clearly has a passion for what she does, and we will not forget her. The rooms, the yard, the location are all beautiful. The breakfasts are out of this world - very generous! Many extra little perks - like an wide array of fresh fruits each morning.
Nothing to dislike!
This is the best B and B we have ever stayed in. It is exceptionally clean with everything you could possibly want from dressing gowns and slippers in the bedroom to spare toothbrushes and even feminine wipes in the bathroom! Ruth, the owner, is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble and she's caring and very helpful. It's a definite 10 out of 10 from us. Many thanks, Ruth.
