The host was most helpful in recommending the best places to eat locally and advised us that the best and cheapest way to travel into Edinburgh was by bus.

We loved our stay here. Absolutely stunning gardens, such a nice way to relax after a long day touring Edinburgh. We stayed in the family en-suite and the room was spacious and beautiful. Breakfast is served in a lovely windowed patio room overlooking the garden. The home is in a nice area with beautiful homes. A pub and a bistro are a few minutes walk. Bus stop is a three minute walk, buses leave every 15 minutes and take you straight into the city in 20 minutes or so. (I drove all over Scotland without trouble but would not want to drive in Edinburgh so the ease to use the bus is great.)

This is the best B and B we have ever stayed in. It is exceptionally clean with everything you could possibly want from dressing gowns and slippers in the bedroom to spare toothbrushes and even feminine wipes in the bathroom! Ruth, the owner, is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble and she's caring and very helpful. It's a definite 10 out of 10 from us. Many thanks, Ruth.

    Absolutely nothing.

An absolute wonderful guest house of the upmost quality and with attention to detail rarely found in places three times the price. Greeting and service was fantastic, and the guest house is located on a very regular bus route into Edingburgh if you don't want to drive.

    Literally nothing to dislike

A beautiful house with a wonderful garden. Our hostess was great. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was terrific. Hubby loved his full English and I had an excellent choice of cereals, fruit and preserves. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room we had was just so beautiful and large. It was luxurious and it felt like I was sleeping in a comfy, delicious cloud. The bathroom was large and spacious with everything and more that you could want even in terms of toiletries. Definitely the best stay during my tour of Scotland.

I stayed at Mount Ceres whilst attending a wedding at nearby Dalhousie castle. My room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. A lot nicer that I expected for the price! The owner of the B&B is also very welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here.

A wonderful reception from the owner on arrival, who was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was of the highest order with a good selection of continental and full cooked breakfast. When asked about going into Edinburgh she suggested that we park and ride and use the public bus, which turned out very much to our advantage.

Beautiful house, ideally located close to Dalhousie Castle, great facilities and the landlady was very welcoming and friendly. Lovely and clean and beds were extremely comfortable - a real home from home and all the little extras included in the bathroom. Only wish we had had time to stay for breakfast as it looked and smelled delicious. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
