The room was excellent. Unfriendly staff, particularly a young girl in the bar who was very unfriendly, bordering on rude. The food was not particularly good, especially for a 4 star hotel. The website says a shuttle service from the aiport is provided, however the hotel were not able to provide a shuttle fo either my inbound or outbound flghts - apparently the manager had to authorise the use of a shuttle, and he / she did not think that my custom warranted this service.

Convenient location. Reasonable price Had to go outside to get to breakfast room/pub/restaurant. Breakfast service staff looked busy but not very organized. Food was okay but substandard. (Porridge was not warm)

The location, quality of staff and the excellent facilities. Ideal for a short touring break. Too warm in the rooms, had to turn heating off and open windows to regulate the temperature.

I live in the Isle of Man and good Hotels at reasonable prices are not easy to find. I had not stayed at this Hotel before but I'll certainly be coming back. First of all, I couldn't believe the price (and Mt Murray management, please don't increase the price because of my review!) for the facilities on offer and the lovely surroundings. This was real value for money. The staff were excellent. My room was comfortable if a little dated, and most of all, it was wonderfully quiet even though there was a wedding party staying as well. My only criticism was the pillows which were hard as bricks- but for £60 per night plus breakfast I can live with that. The pillows

We have stayed here before. It is convenient for us as we have family in Port Erin. It is comfortable without being deluxe and is reasonably priced. It is popular because of the sports facilities and the golf course. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The lights above the twin beds were dodgy and had not been repaired. The Murray is tired and needs a bit of attention, but we were happy there.

The location of the hotel was excellent. The staff were very pleasant, and the hotel although obviously quite old, was very well appointed. The furniture and fittings were of a very high quality, and very comfortable. The breakfasts were extremely good too. A good and varied choice of foods on offer.

Excellent king room for 80 quid, what a bargain, we attended my nephews wedding there, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Food was excellent, for both day and night do,S. What a value package for the wedding, I will definately consider mount murray for my daughters wedding. Having to walk between the hotel and golf club for the reception and night do and walk back in pitch black along a main highway, very dangerous, there is a shuttle if theres enough of you to warrant them being bothered to pick you up and drop you off. That was my only downside on the whole weekend.

The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We took our bicycles with us and they found a secure place for them and the reception staff were incredibly helpful when we had to stay an extra night due to the cancellation of the ferry and they also provided us with a lift to the ferry terminal early the next morning because it was too wet and windy for us to cycle there without being soaked through for the whole crossing!! Pool and golf club great, nice pub just down the road and also a bus stop close to get into Douglas.

Hotel was exactly as expected. Rooms were very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Bar meals and breakfast were very good. I did not try the a la carte restaurant. Plenty of parking space. The 12.5m pool was adequate and quiet during my stay. I did not use the other fitness facilities but they appeared to be comprehensive.

We are 4 well travelled and discerning friends and we really can't understand the adverse comments about the Mount Murray, they must have been staying at a different hotel. This hotel, its facilities and setting are excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate, not tired at all, very clean and well maintained with plenty of room and excellent decor. The restaurants provided a good range of very well cooked and presented food, breakfast was very varied and catered for all tastes. The setting is beautiful and the building itself internally is elegant and lavish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay using the hotel as a base for island touring. We really could not fault it. If you are out and about don't miss the Restaurant and visitor centre at Niarbyl for Sunday carvery lunch and other meals, it is superb and the setting is breathtaking. Don't miss the railway to Snaefell there is an excellent cafeteria at the top with home cooked food.

Very comfortable beds, clean rooms and friendly staff. Cold tap didn't work in the sink - had to use the bath to brush teeth! It was a bit awkward with my brother to go swimming as he could not go in the changing rooms on his own. It would be helpful if there was a disabled changing room next to the pool.

The bed was comfortable, the price was alot cheaper on booking.com Faded ,dirty, down at heal, in need of refurbishment. Worn and stained fixtures fittings and decor. Breakfast was almost cold and overcooked. Service slow and serving staff unable to smile. The Spa was in need of refurb. I cannot believe this is a 4 star - the assessor must have been blind

In general a good facility offering all options in terms of rooms, service, food standards and range with very good, attentive staff. Golf obviously a speciality - hard hard to play in terms of terrain! But nevertheless a proper challenge to play and excellent facilities, golf restuarant, driving range and well stocked pro Shop. Hard to find fault - although strangely no shaver point in the bathrooms!

This is in my opinion the best hotel on the island. Before we stayed we read the reviews which put us off a little but when we arrived there found the place to be excellent. All those who gave it a bad report should remember this is the iom not New York, if you want a perfect 4star hotel fly to Dubai instead

We really enjoyed our stay. Peaceful location and pleasant surroundings. Nice bar area. Our room was fine, plenty of hot water and the bed was comfy. No view (looked out onto a wall) but not really a problem. bar menu was good but avoid the steak and ale pie as it is rock hard (microwaved). We did tell the waitress who asked if we wanted another (no thank you) or whether we would like to do something about it.I suppose we could have not paid for it but we didn't want a fuss. Next day I noticed someone else with a similar rock hard pie however. All in all we enjoyed our stay and breakfast was lovely, plenty of food and variety. Buffet and fresh cooked so can please everyone. Don't let the pie put you off! We had a good stay and overall the hotel, staff and food were good. Steak and ale pie!

The receptionist was pleasant. The rooms are extremely outdated and the bed is uncomfortable. The shower didn't work properly and there is no sound proofing. This was our second stay there for a wedding and would not stay again.
