Style of building & meal in restaurant
Bath in room was in poor condition and service at breakfast could have been better
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mount Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms spotlessly clean and breakfast was delicious. Wish we had booked for longer, will definitely return and recommend to friends and family
Was only provided with 3 pillows between the two of us. Our stay would have been more comfortable with 2 pillows each.
Clean, modern rooms, decorated to a high standard. Public areas also carpeted and furnished really well. Experience overall was great. Breakfast good too.
No hand soap for washing your hands in the bathroom in the room.
The room was lovely very clean and the bed was vey comfy. A bit disappointed there wasn't a bath but shound have requested when we booked
The breakfast a good but not the best we have had
The Hotel is beautiful and rooms are very nice too. I had dinner at the bar and normal breakfast in the morning and food was really good on both occasions.
Since I have to say something I will say the bathroom had a very annoying and kept shutting the light every 30 seconds or so. That didn't ruin my stay.
It was a great stay and the breakfast was delicious would defiantly recommend
Beautiful building, charming interior, friendly and helpful staff, excellent restaurant and bar
Great location taxi into town cheap, new rooms are lovely everything you need. Breakfast good quallity produce.
Shame breakfast wasn't in usual room but was fine. If your looking for more facility's this isn't the hotel for you.
Room clean, well appointed, modern wrt furnishings and audio visual Bar area comfortable.
Room small for price. Bar food average. automatic till errors - charging for a boittle of wine not glass...staff aeare of issue, but I spotted the error on my bill.
Excellent location. Staff very helpful and accommodating
Pillows! These were very hard. We needed an early breakfast and were provided with a continental breakfast in our room, however, this could have been more substantial; one cold croissant, one pastry and three slices of toast between us seemed a bit frugal.
Nice staff, nice common parts, comfy rooms, great location...cute handy gym, etc, etc
The evening meals from the restaurant were sometimes good and often pretty poor ( totally inedible overcooked chicken wings) as was the breakfast. Cheap ingredients (like the sausages or pain au chocolat for example) meant that I had very little brekkie there, and got food later. A real shame, because there are so many good things about this place. While I was checking out another lady was making a similar complaint which didn't surprise me. If they can sort this out, then it'd raise the standard of the hotel quite a lot.
The room was lovely, the shower was brilliant. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Plenty of parking
It was ideal location for myself, lady on reception very helpful. Room service was at your door within minutes. Would recommend!
Nosiey people outside my room at 2:30am arguing.. Understand this isn't hotels fault though!
The gardens were lovely.
The rooms were dated and in need of some TLC and refurbishment. The bar service was average with limited drinks and staff who didnt seem to be trained in that area, and if you are paying a premium for drinks i expect a good quality service and product. The breakfast service was poor, the few staff they had couldnt keep up with the demand although the breakfast was very nice when we got it.
Hotel had character and was in a good location for ur needs. Breakfast was very good.
Bedroom and bathroom needed some TLC. Not enough room for the two chairs and table that were in the room. Wall lights kept going off and on of their own accord or if you knocked the wall. In general the bedroom was not great. Need to check your change at the bar as some of the staff seemed to have problems with prices.
Staff were very friendly
The price of the room because it wasn't worth £72
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and of a good size.
The gardens had an old bonfire site where mattresses had been burned. Chairs were also strewn around it. Hardly what I expected to see when strolling around their site. Restaurant offered a vegetarian option but was the size of a starter and I had to wait over an hour for it to arrive.
Staff helpful & friendly Location just right Lovely old building Room quiet
Room tired Water system noisy (reported) Bathroom - specifically behind toilet - old & dirty
Location and architecture of building. We had a good deal, but be prepared for rooms down long corrdiers and in the process of being re-modelled/ decorated. Dinner was excellent.
Breakfast was very ordinary, staff seemed half asleep.
the food in the restaurant was excellent couldn't fault it,
the room was old and dated not a deluxe room as we had reserved.over charged at the bar for our drinks . three weddings on over the weekend . so couldn't sit in the bar . very disappointed as it was for our 20th wedding anniversary.
A hotel that does not pretend to be something that its not, but offered good old fashioned style with cleanliness and comfort
Never enamoured with buffet breakfasts
The hotel has real character and the historic areas bland well with the new additions. The breakfast was brilliant.
Location, newly refurbished rooms, especially good bathrooms and beautiful period features and character of building. Reception staff very good - welcoming and helpful.
Breakfast service a bit hit and miss - toaster not working!! surely you have a spare?
very good looking former private family mansion but with some modern extensions to cope with conferences and wedding parties etc. Large room with modern en suite. 32 inch flat screen TV coffee making facilities. Free wifi in room. Meals served in splendid wood panelled former ballroom complete with gallery. Good hot buffet breakfast. Good value for money. Friendly staff. Would stay again
Large celebration going on during my one night stay. When they all came into bar the noise was unbearable and I had to leave. Not hotel fault - just observation as it seems the hotel caters for such special occassions
