Het Mount Edgcombe- Visit Britain 4 Star Silver Award is met een Silver Award van Visit Britain bekroond. Het biedt een vers en warm ontbijt, dinermogelijkheden en gratis parkeergelegenheid. Het complex is op een gunstige locatie gelegen, ter hoogte van een laan met bomen. Het Mount Edgcombe is een kleine etablissement dat door een familie wordt beheerd. Het biedt een warm welkom en moderne kamers met een eigen badkamer. Verder beschikken de kamers over een tv, dvd-speler en gratis WiFi. In de lichte en luchtige eetzaal wordt dagelijks het vers bereide ontbijt geserveerd. Optioneel zijn er ook diners beschikbaar. Verder zijn er een bar met een volledige licentie en een comfortabele zitkamer aanwezig. Het Mount Edgcombe ligt op een paar minuten lopen van het treinstation, het English Riviera Centre, Torre Abbey en het strand. Op 15 minuten loopafstand bevindt zich het Castle Circus. Pam and David are superb hosts.The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. The food is good - Pams fried chips are the best that I have ever tasted.

you were made to feel very welcome as soon as you walked through the door. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. My hand break cable snapped on arrival and the owners help me park on a level area and recommended a garage who did a great job. Would stay there again.

Friendly couple who run the hotel who couldn't do enough for me during my stay (3 nights) - but were not intrusive. I had an evening meal on my first night and I have to say it was excellent - huge portions for the main course. Choice of breakfast items - both hot and cold. The room was clean and the decor is contemporary (I was in a single occupancy double room, wash basin is in the main room and there is a separate shower/toilet room) - I had a sneak view in some of the other double rooms and they have separate en-suite rooms. Conveniently located approx 5-10min walk from Railway Station/Sea Front. Quiet hotel not aimed at stag/hen groups, but with 24hr access. If I visit Torquay again would definitely consider staying here again (depends on what type of group I was with) and certainly recommend Mount Edgcombe to other visitors - visited 26-29 April 2012

The rooms were very nicey decorated and scrupulously clean.The hotel had a fantastic choice at breakfast and the cooked was superb.The owners were friendly and welcoming.The hotel was a 15 minute walk to the theatre through the park which was a nice stroll.A Very good weekend ,and impressed with the standard.

Very good, friendly, Excellent deal. OK, off peak, but still good. Food good. Location good providing your knees haven't completely given up on you. Had no complaints other than bar prices. so no change there. Ho Ho.

The hosts were most welcoming and as first time visitors to Torquay we welcomed their local knowledge. Our room was always spotlessly clean and had everything in we required. Breakfast was very good, well cooked and presented. Near Torre Abbey, the hotel is well placed for a walk into town or the coastal path. We would stay again.

From checking in to checking out, the staff were always friendly and helpful. We chose the small room and this was adequate for the purpose of our trip. The facilities were good, with access to plenty of DVD's for those rainy days and a comfy lounge area. Breakfast was very nice and had a good selection. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room, then invited to the residents lounge where a cup of tea/coffee with cake and biscuits had been laid on for us. The food was excellent, with our dietry needs catered for. The owners,on learning that we were down for a funeral, were happy to give us a later checkout time. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the rooms were decorated to a high standard. We would certainly stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Excellent all round, room was great and everything spotless. Bed very big and comfy, breakfast was brilliant excellent choice, and the service was excellent too. They saw to my 22 month's old every need. Nothing was too much trouble very friendly. Already booked our return visit in December. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Very nice hotel, breakfast kept me full all day, staff and other guests were very friendly and would look forward to returning one day. The revues were spot on and it certainly paid us to look at these before booking. Didnt get to try the evening meal or the bar, but its there if you need it.

On arriving at the hotel we were met with a welcoming smile.A tour of the hotel, the room was of a high standard, so was the food. The owners were very approachable. A lovely family feel about the place. I will deffinatley stay there again and will recomend to family and friends.

Mount Edgecombe was perfectly placed for our needs and was at a reduced rate due to an offer the hotel was running. The inclusive breakfast was excellent in both range and quality and did indeed set you up for almost the entire day. The off road parking was adequate and the owners and staff were extremely helpful and friendly making our stay a very pleasant and worthwhile experience. The shower head was in a fixed position quite high up on the shower cubicle wall and my wife found this slightly inconvenient as she prefers to be able to detach the shower head to hold in her hand.

The Mount Edgcombe is a great place to stay if you want good quality and value for money we had a great stay on the mount edgcombe suite which has a wirlpool bath for 2 ans a double shower toiletries ,towls, and robes were provided The food was freshly prepared daily and sourced locally the three course dinner recomended bed was very comfortable with high quality thread count bedding

A lovely little Hotel just a short walk through the park to the seafront. Nice and quiet. The owners Pam and David were very nice and made us feel welcome and gave suggestions of where we could eat and visit. Breakfast was freshly made and was delicious. Room was clean and had everything you expected. I liked the fact the rooms also had a tv/dvd player with a fair selection of DVD's in the family room you could watch in your room. All in all a very pleasant place which I would recommend and happily stay at again. Maybe take the kids next time :)

The hotel was very clean and welcoming.The staff were very friendly and we only had to ask for anything we required but the situation did not arise as everything we needed was provided.We had a quite large double room with a kingsize bed which was very comfy.We would like to thank Pam and David for a very pleasant stay. We had no complaints whatsoever.

I had never visited Torquay before,which is a very lovely place,staying at Mount Edgcombe made our visit even better.We stayed in room 3 it was very clean and the decor was quite nice and simple.We had everything in our room that we needed ,a television (that worked very well),wi fi signal,small fridge,very comfortable beds,loads of lovely clean towels etc etc.It is very quiet so you are not disturbed,you can come and go as you please and it is very secure, unlike a large hotel.The breakfast was delicious and so much on offer.Pam and David (the owners) were lovely they were very attentive and could not do enough for you.I would definately recommend Mount Edgcombe and Torquay as a get away from it all break .Excellent! No complaints, personally just an adjustable shower would have been great .
