We stayed in a Junior suite (Rm 285) which was brilliant. For once a web- site description undersold the reality. King size bed with full tempur matress not mentioned - a superb surprise! Wifi really did work as well! We had two lovely nights.

I consider the Best Western Mount Pleasant to be the one of the nicest hotels in Yorkshire we staying in an executive room and it was really nice, in fact so nice, we did not go out at night because we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the room. We have visited this hotel two or three times now and have always been extremely happy.

Room was fine, spacious and a four poster bed I pre-booked a table in the restaurant as an obvious business traveller. I was not told in advance that there would only be the Xmas menu at £33 -even more at weekends and this was only November. The food was dreadful. The duck terrine came without its promised pear chutney and with undressed salad leaves. The main course of lamb had to be sent back as inedible - very tough and the vegetables were poor (some frozen.) Instead I choose a king prawn risotto which was appalling and which arrived without veg. I was able to each the five prawns (which were not king incidentally but overcooked.) The pudding of nut and caramel tart was flavoursome but stodgy. I really object to having to pay £33 for awful food and have no business alternative. I am a former Egon Ronay inspector and have rarely met with food so unpleasant. I did not dare risk the cooked breakfast. Staff were pleasant and helpful but no one really took on board my complaints about the cost of the food; I still had to pay for it even though I did not eat most of it. I think business travellers should be forewarned and an alternative put in place for those who do not want to eat a festive meal alone and at that price.

We have been staying at the Mount Pleasant for over twenty years and have watched it change from a very average hotel to a high quality hotel. It is a relaxing and pleasurable experience to stay there.

Loved the size of the room, and the on site Therapie. Staff were very welcoming and happy to help. Some of the serving staff at breakfast seemed unprepared - lack of basic items on the table, I.E. cups, napkins, milk and butter. But they were very quick to sort these issues out. Also one of the dressing gowns provided was rather tatty, had at least 3 holes and previous guests hair. It was left out with towels to be colelcted, but seemed to have been left.

Great hotel, fabulous service, good food, superb rooms (especially if you et one with a waterbed). Overall excellent value for money, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Once you get to know the layout your ok, for a first timer, I found the corridors a little confusing and I struggled to find the lift and stairs to get to my room.

Lovely large bedroom and bathroom, clean and luxurious. The evening meal was very nice but on the expensive side, particularly the sweets.

All aspects of our stay were excellent, we took away some brochures for our freinds who we have recommended to stay at one of the best places we have stayed at in the uk. As a regular weekend/weekday breaker we were very pleased and happy. We would be most interested in weekday/end break deals as they occur please. KEN & JANET BALL.

Friendly staff and comfortable rooms Did not enjoy the food at an evening reception. Think it was called indoor barbecue food, very unimaginative and unappetizing

the helpfulness of the staff generally Efficient Reception Food breakfast was good so was a late night snack. It is too big 172 is a huge room with tiny twin beds 150 paces from reception The shower is a good idea but the actual showering space is small and a bath as well is too much The towel rail is fitted out of plumb The towels were very nice.

Unfortunately we only had one night at this splendid hotel. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was lovely, marvellously large room and en-suite with jacuzzi bath. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were attending a wedding in nearby Rossington and the location could not have been better. I would definitely stay here again.
