the size of the room
it was very cold in the big bedroom.
The bed is incredibly comfy, the location is perfect for Barry town, and there is a bar. The staff are great and parking your car is like some sort of rite of passage!
You know, u could say a million things, but it's £27 a night and it's a lovely place. So, nothing!
the hotel was easy to find although its old and needs some TLC. the room was comfortable, large and spacious it fulfilled our needs for a base to stay over the weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only slept at the hotel so can not comment on the other facilities
The car park was very small which meant parking on near by streets which was not so easy when we returned late at night. the disco music could be heard from our room which was a bit annoying.
I like almost everything
I just hear the some noise don't know where it coming from it's like a generator or something.
Convenience of the location. Helpfulness of the Staff Excellent value for money
Rather cramped car parking. The fact that you are closing !
room was lovely and quiet comfortable beds
Room had dark paint on walls found it depressing. Mould on shower curtain. No room in car park
View from front door
Shower head was dirty Bath rim stained
Staff was very friendly and accommodations adequate for an affordable price (especially when you get the breakfast thrown in). Tea/coffee tray was generous, clean linen and thick towels.
If TV is important you might take your own as the small tube-type received sketchy reception. Wifi is only in the public areas. Wash cloths (flannels?) weren't provided.
Welcoming front entrance decorated beautifully for Christmas. Bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable
TV was not able to get all channels only ITV was available to watch. Nothing otherwise. We had a pleasant stay.
The hotel was up to the standard I expect for the price
No restaurant open and leisure facilities not open
staff were very nice
carpark not very big,tv had no signal, water coming into room when upstairs were having a shower.private party music till 1.30am so not much sleep
Staff food and comfort.
Tv not working Dirty cups and saucers Shower not working Non friendly staff Door was jammed on room so had to be relocated
Value for money
Noise from next room, thin walls.
Where it was
Toilet dirty cobwebs mould on walls scratches up my arms from all the bad bed springs had to gr up at five as the bed was so bad when I spoke to reception they told me write a letter which I thought was very bad service
Amazing place absolutely perfect staff so warming and kind and helpful couldnt have asked for a better place to stay and as for view was brilliant :) and what an amazong price aswell ;) would reccomend to everyone! Xx
Nothing it was perfect :)
dated. mouldy bathroom. 80s décor, (as in unchanged, rather than retro) smelly
Great breakfast, friendly staff, comfy beds
excellent value for money
alarm clock that didn't work although given an alarm call at 6.30
Poor parking area.
Everything else. Filthy bathroom. So bad we could not shower. Even took photos to show friends. No milk in room. Asked for some and was give a jug of fresh milk. Our fridge was the outside window ledge. Customers in the bar were swearing badly and loudly, they werenot asked to curb their language. Carpets filthy. Doors with smashed locks. Horrible.
Quiet and clear. Lovely hotel with very friendly staff
The building is very big and it has a lot of stairs; if you go with suitcases, is really difficult to get to the rooms... NO wifi in the rooms!!
Comfortable room, excellent wi fi access, superb breakfast, a very relaxing stay, fantastic value for money
As a former resident of Barry and user of the MOUNT SORREL it was good to be back, the room was very clean and comfortable
Didn't like the fact that the MOUNT SORREL is to be pulled down and not replaced as a hotel, the other things I didn't like was the shower was in the bath being elderly couldn't use shower, also the area of the hotel we were in didn't receive Wi-Fi, as it is being pulled down I can understand why this is not an important issue.
