Comfortable welcoming b&b with good facilities. Excellent breakfast & lounge area. We stayed more than one night but the tea/coffee items were not refreshed and cups not changed. There was no indication of how to request towels to be changed. Having said this the breakfast staff were quick to remedy this. The modern and welcoming construction of the building does however mean that sound travels between rooms and from the lounge area.

We enjoyed our stay which fell on a Tuesday night. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. They had a lovely dog called Alfie and he seemed to be the main host at breakfast time. Moreover when i was booking the stay over the owner was very friendly and helpful with my queries. I felt the breakfast was a let down as we received bacon that was pre- cooked and boardy and a egg that was splattered across the plate with not much interest in the appearance.

It was rather peculiar to arrive with no-one around, letting myself in with a code and key left in an envelope did feel odd. Room fabulous and very peaceful. Breakfast was also good although lacking in atmosphere because of the lack of people/interaction. Good for those who don't like people I guess! I would certainly stay again No welcome or apparent presence of other people in the hotel

staff were really friendly; I lost an earring and Chris did all she could to help us find it. Also really liked the bed and pillows were really comfy, breakfast was also great. I didnt like that we didnt have a window in our bathroom - it felt very small and drak although Chris came to the rescue with a new globe.

Room was spacious. Made to feel welcome. TV reception poor. I was last down to breakfast and bacon and sausage were obviously pre-cooked and reheated. Bacon very dry.

My family used Mulberry lodge as a stopover for the night prior to a wedding. The do it yourself check in was ideal for us, and everything was straightforward. Rooms and reception areas were clean and tidy and only wish we had more time to explore its location and surrounding village. Despite reporting for breakfast well within the alloted timescales, I was disappointed that the chef had run out of sausages. Additional bacon was offered instead so not all bad.

We liked the friendliness of Cathy the Cook who made us feel most welcome and did all she could to make breakfast a very pleasant experience for us. We like the ease of parking, the heating in the reception area on arrival (although actually our room itself did get a bit cold at times, despite using the heater). We were in Room 10. We also liked very much our meal at The Crown Pub at Newgate (Julie is on the bar there) and we feel your customers would like to know about the existence of this place as it is much more convivial than The Beehive which is recommended in your folio in each bedroom. We suggested Julie come up and see you with some business cards. The only problem for us in Room 10 apart from feeling a bit chilly at some times during the night, was the fact that the light over the bathroom basin did not work. I think the only thing that is not always entirely clear, is how we would call up help by phone if anyone were taken ill etc. We jotted down the mobile number on the front door and assume we would just ring that - as there is no one around on Reception in the evening, we hope that someone is nearby on site if needed.

Directions were very clear and the unique way you book in went withou a hitch. I was suprised at how comfortable the room was and the addition of a free safe and wi-fi was an unexpected bonus. For the price, location (need to be near Potters Bar), cleanliness and comfort Mulberry Lodge cannot be beaten.

We found the Mulberry Lodge very pleasant. Our room overlooked the fields and we saw the horses through our window. Bed was very comfortable and drinks facilities were good. Breakfast was excellent. Only critisism was having decided to go for a walk the gates leading out do not open to ley people in and out. The gap to squeeze through is quite small and if people are not too agile climbing over the gate is a bit daunting. Suggest you make a passeneger gate !!!! But we did have a very pleasant stay and would come back. Thank you

Close to town but in the middle of countryside with horses and rabbits outside the bedroom windows. Very quiet location. Comfort and privacy and a bit different. Nice pub within walking distance for evening meal, and a good breakfast cooked to order at the Lodge itself. Big bonus with breakfast was the company of Archie the dog. Adorable! Didn't like that the bedroom doors where wide open on arrival. I went in the wrong room by mistake, and only realised when the rightful occupant turned up!

The location was perfect, with good parking right outside the doors. The rooms are all on one level and are clean and roomy with on suite. Breakfast excellent in a very comfortable dinning area. We only stayed 2 nights but wish we had booked longer!

The location, cleanliness, and the general presentation of the hotel was faultless and I would recommend it to anyone. One minor point which is an observation and not a criticism is that the breakfast times concerning Friday breakfast can be confusing. This was not a major problem but if corrected I would award a ten-out-of-ten

Very pretty and quiet location whilst not far from major attractions. Excellent value with all facilities and larger than average rooms and super king sized beds. Lovely owners and Alfie should be able to melt your heart.

“Have used this hotel a few times now. We originally started using it when we couldn't get rooms in a hotel a bit nearer where we were working. We have found the Chace is better priced, friendlier, has better food & is now the hotel that my Norwegian colleagues are asking to stay at when we are working in the area. Staff have a great attitude and a sense of humour too.” Jonathan, Broadstairs |
