Location Very comfortable room Excellent views Price
bathroom needed a bit of attention
bedroom was lovely
to expensive for a one night stay
The location and scenery
When checking out being told if we spoke to someone else we would have a newer room and more modern. Being told room 6 is not as good as the new rooms, this made the stay feel...... well poor. Only really saw staff very briefly at breakfast.
Food and very large bedroom with nice views. Bedrooms are being updated. Staff very nice.
Shower curtain was dirty and shower was weak. The Jacuzzi bath did not work. Hard to find someone when checking in and out .
Close to Hereford but in open countryside
The building is beautiful and the room we had was large and very well appointed - the bed was comfortable and the bathroom fabulous!. The dining facilities and food are excellent - it will make a fantastic wedding venue. Staff/owners very friendly and welcoming.
All minor: the view - we could only see treetops! The dogs barking a bit in the night was irritating. The smoke alarm light lit up the room like a Christmas tree - we prefer dark for sleeping! And the WiFi connection - oh dear!
location room staff
no phone in room short breakfast period
The service was brilliant and the staff we're very accommodating to our needs
Staff Food Rooms
Absolutely nothing at all
Had seen mixed reviews for this hotel - but we were made very welcome, our room was clean and comfortable and the meal in their restaurant was wonderful. Good choice of food at breakfast, served by friendly staff. Would stay here again.
When I had trouble getting to the hotel they sent someone to find me
The executive suit was very well equiped, huge TV, Tv in the bathroon, Jacuzzi bath, and lots of space. The grounds were lovely and the food also very good.
The place was just a little tired, like it was amazing 5 years ago. I would still stay there again though, and recommned it.
the location, garden, food and room all very nice.
no hair dryer in the room.
Good location and really peaceful. Good size room
No real welcome. Bathroom was grubby and tiles were missing. The jacuzzi bath did not work. Bed was broken and creaked.
I booked this hotel on behalf of my Managing Director who rarely comments on accommodation unless things go wrong. He sent me an email to say "lovely room with four poster bed, Jacuzzi bath and great views from his window" + the sun was shining. What more could you want?
Building & surrounding.
The size of the room, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great view from the bedroom window and the gardens were beautiful.
The building and grounds are good
The guest house is poorly maintained. Toilet did not flush, seat broken.sink and bath plug chains broken as was the shower hose. There was no safety mat nor handrails in the large bath or the ability for us to shower as there was no hook for the shower to hang from.We had specifically asked for a quiet room to return one evening to be greeted in excess of 150 teenagers at a large function of which we were not informed. We had planned to dine there that evening and no food was available for residents. On the 3rd day informing the owner that there was no breakfast for us she went into an uncontrollable rage and we felt quite threatened. We are still in shock and extremely upset from this outburst.
Was there for a wedding , liked the house and grounds
Dirty towels , and lack of staff
Charming Potentially one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in. Lovely room with many of its original features.
Some minor renovations required to bathroom and a few areas in the bedroom.
When we arrived we were informed that our room which had been booked months ago had been double booked so we had been upgraded, The room was very nice with a comfy bed. In the evening there was a lovely covered patio area to sit at with a lovely gas log burner to sit at, there was also a water feature which was very relaxing. .
Breakfast was served 7.30 -9.00 am. On our first morning we went for breakfast at 8.30 only to find that everything was cold including the flasks of water and coffee, so the next morning we were there for 7.30 only to find it was still cold!. There were no staff available to speak to about this matter. Our rooms were very clean when we arrived but bins weren't emptied towels were replaced but for some reason used towels were left in the bathroom. On our first evening there was no bar staff available to get a drink at 9pm. So take your own if you want a night cap.
We went for a wedding so thought everything about it was good
Friendly bar staff
Breakfast could have been better And don't go there if it's someone else's wedding
Lack of personality, staff disinterest with guests, breakfast quality, lack of maintenance
Room size, location, service
fixtures and fittings in the rooms e.g. bath, sink, ironing board etc. were very tired and in need of renewal.
