The hotels gardens are beautiful. The hotels obvious investment in weddings will almost certainly guarantee them business.
The modern traveller is looking for wifi as a guarantee...really poor. Throughout my one night stay I saw 3 staff..All very polite but the hotel lacked that welcoming feeling..the hotel lacked soul
narrow double bed heavy duvet made sleep difficult noise from adjoining room until after midnight
The room, facilities and food were excellent. The welcome on arrival and attention to our needs during our stay were beyond reproach and the local knowledge of the staff was very helpful.
Lack of a separate shower in the bathroom made early morning breakfast something of a rush. The green light in the emergency ceiling light was distracting.
A great place to 'chill out' in between rushing about. Very welcoming staff. Will definitely come again.
Parking a bit of a problem when they are hosting an event, but all sorted very good naturedly
Lovely surroundings with a large, pleasant bedroom. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable.
It was a long way up some steps to carry cases from the lower car park. A reception desk was needed near the main entrance. A shelf was required on which to place the lids of the breakfast containers when self-serving.
Location, breakfast was very good
Renovation works going on in the room above until 11pm and started again at 7am Rooms where dirty and electrical equipment was out of PAT test by almost 2 years on some items
The lovely rooms with wonderful beds and jacuzzis. The private parking and quiet setting away from the main building was perfect.stunning grounds and lovely outdoor terrace for drinks.
The evening meals and the breakfasts we had during our stay were excellent. The room was very comfortable and quiet.
The mattress was a little bit too hard for our liking.
Location Very comfortable room Excellent views Price
bathroom needed a bit of attention
bedroom was lovely
to expensive for a one night stay
The location and scenery
When checking out being told if we spoke to someone else we would have a newer room and more modern. Being told room 6 is not as good as the new rooms, this made the stay feel...... well poor. Only really saw staff very briefly at breakfast.
Food and very large bedroom with nice views. Bedrooms are being updated. Staff very nice.
Shower curtain was dirty and shower was weak. The Jacuzzi bath did not work. Hard to find someone when checking in and out .
Close to Hereford but in open countryside
The room was ok
The tv was old and dated. The owner never greeted us and ware the same old clothes for 2 days. The room was nice but very expensive for what you got. The bar prices belong in London and not for Hereford.
The building is beautiful and the room we had was large and very well appointed - the bed was comfortable and the bathroom fabulous!. The dining facilities and food are excellent - it will make a fantastic wedding venue. Staff/owners very friendly and welcoming.
All minor: the view - we could only see treetops! The dogs barking a bit in the night was irritating. The smoke alarm light lit up the room like a Christmas tree - we prefer dark for sleeping! And the WiFi connection - oh dear!
location room staff
no phone in room short breakfast period
The service was brilliant and the staff we're very accommodating to our needs
Staff Food Rooms
Absolutely nothing at all
Had seen mixed reviews for this hotel - but we were made very welcome, our room was clean and comfortable and the meal in their restaurant was wonderful. Good choice of food at breakfast, served by friendly staff. Would stay here again.
When I had trouble getting to the hotel they sent someone to find me
The executive suit was very well equiped, huge TV, Tv in the bathroon, Jacuzzi bath, and lots of space. The grounds were lovely and the food also very good.
The place was just a little tired, like it was amazing 5 years ago. I would still stay there again though, and recommned it.
the location, garden, food and room all very nice.
no hair dryer in the room.
Good location and really peaceful. Good size room
No real welcome. Bathroom was grubby and tiles were missing. The jacuzzi bath did not work. Bed was broken and creaked.
I booked this hotel on behalf of my Managing Director who rarely comments on accommodation unless things go wrong. He sent me an email to say "lovely room with four poster bed, Jacuzzi bath and great views from his window" + the sun was shining. What more could you want?
