The room looked amazing, bathroom was modern and clean, bed comfortable, also the food from the next bar was great, staff were nice...but there is one big problem --
-- but there is one big problem - the room was absolutely without any soundproofing whatsoever. We thought that it will be OK, but unfortunately the staff was oblivious and they were very loud during the night. It was so annoying. I heard the front door, the people chatting - it woke me up all night. Next day they started to sort cutlery at 2 a.m. which was like having a bell next to your bed. I was so sad about this, but I would rather ugly room where I can sleep, than beautiful room with nightmarish nights :(
road nearby a bit noisy
The parking and the reception was good. Our room was in the nearby Murrayfield House which exceeded all expectations. Large very well decorated and everything you needed including a free mini bottle of malt and chocolates. The Bothy bar was very nice and staff again were top drawer. A lovely breakfast rounded it off nicely. We will be back for a longer stay. Thank you.
There was nothing I could criticize here.
Loved the decor of the rooms and hotel in general. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food, at dinner and breakfast was really good, tasty and homecooked. Complimentary water in the room was a nice bonus.
Our room was at the front of the hotel so there was a bit of traffic noise.
Our twin room was large, quiet and clean. Staff are helpful, breakfast was good.
Helpful staff and location
Free car parking, friendly staff.
Television reception wasn't great.
relaxed approach friendly staff fantastic bathroom comfortable bed
no wifi acces in our Room
A lovely hotel with a great team of staff both front and back of house so friendly and helpful!!! Situated within a 10 minute bus ride from the centre of Edinburgh....with an excellent bus service and bus stop almost just outside the hotel! The room was amazing with lovely big windows overlooking the main road....but no traffic noise at all!!
Really liked the hotel, staff helpful. Lovely bar. Great breakfast
Bed - as it was 2 singles pushed into double resulted in uncomfortable night
From the minute we entered the hotel we were blown away! All the little touches such as the His and Hers gifts, the tv mirror, iPod docking station, the beautiful decor and, of course, the extremely helpful and welcoming staff. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our anniversary trip!
The decorative lights from the windows beamed through the glass bathroom door into our room making it a bit difficult to sleep.
Being placed in a room normally reserved for a disabled person, which opened my eyes to how poorly they are catered for, next to male/female toilets, adjacent to busy function room, on our second night, when hotel was virtually empty, we were not offered an alternative room, cannot check in until after 4 pm??!!! Last visit was excellent, by comparison this visit was a real comedown
Clean quiet comfortable hotel
Too few staff, reception slow, bar and restaurant needed additional staff.

Fantastically comfortable mattress. Lovely clean bathroom. Would stay again .
No finger plates on doors meant pushing the wrong side! A bit expensive but that's the festival for you.
Friendly helpful, well trained staff. Great food, the room was very well furnished, with a number of little touches such as a miniature of malt whisky and chocolates.
The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were very helpful and provided excellent service. The standard double room was large and very modern bathroom. The location was a 10 minute bus ride to the centre of town.
Chocolate and card from staff Very thoughtful
Lights went out the first night and difficult finding staff as no one on desk. Sorted eventually. Bathroom very small, no bath and no where to hang anything up
Staff, bar, food and location. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was nice. Room was very clean. Staff were extremely helpful
Room was clean but a little tired, needed a lick of paint.
The room was lovely and the staff where friendly
The food wasn't the best and was overpriced.
Evening meal in bar. Good shower. Spacious room. Frequent buses just outside.
Bathroom tiling either not finished or falling apart. Slightly spoilt what was otherwise a nice bathroom.
Staff were just so lovely, all if them, such a delightful place with a fabulous atmosphere
