The old furnishings and building, giving us a real Scottish experience.
large apartment, just next to edinburg castle.
shower drain was blocked
The flat it's very nice, comfortable, and very well located.
We arrive early to collect the keys and it was not until nearly 18h00 we were able to use the flat. We had a gala event at that time and we had to attend it with the same clothes we worn all day.It was in our contract that the accommodation provided would be available from 15h00.
It's one of several apartments managed by the same company, so pay attention to the location of the apartment you book. The one I booked was far away from the place where we had to pick up keys. It was a bit of a hike to the Royal Mile, but totally doable.
Wi-fi was horrendous. There was a treacherous step in the bathroom because of uneven slate.
We were late getting to Edinburgh, walking into the office 10 min before they closed we were greeted with utmost respect and kindness. When I originally booked this I did not know it was a heritage site. Up a steep hill, turn into the apts and Bam instant amazement! It is sandwiched between the University and the Castle with beautiful gardens all around. I won't give up the history of the place as it was really cool to discover it on our own. The interior was HUGE, way too big for our little party but beautiful. Most of the rooms have kept the integrity of the age of the building except for the necessary upgrades like the kitchen and bathrooms. It was pricey at about $500. us per night but for a large group or family it would actually be priceless.
First of all no parking, parking on "the mount" was close but then the next day we had to park in a parking garage quite a bit away. Second, using the appliances. I think they should leave directions on how to operate the ovens and washing/dryer machine (as well as where to find the washer, it's under the stairs in the kitchen). I was not able to use the oven due to lack of knowledge and while we did get a load of wash done it took a while to figure it out and even then we were just guessing.
Lots of space
A few minor repairs needed. Shower and bath
Location, size of apartment, lovely old building with high ceilings
Place not kept in tip top condition eg door on dishwasher needs repairing, light & fan in bathroom & TV in bedroom all need fixing, safe was locked.
Great apartment in a fantastic location. Very spacious.
Only one shower in a four bed apartment. Could have done with an additional shower over the bath in the bathroom.
Would have benefited with 2 showers.
Besides being located in heart of the city (right next to the Edinburgh Castle), the 3 bedroom apartment has a large dining area, spacious living area with plenty of sunshine and three bathrooms which add bit of convenience. The Kitchen is large and fully equipped too! All in all, much better than a stay in hotel if you are travelling in group of 5/6 people.
Arrangements for after-hours check in were excellent. The entire experience was exceptionally trouble free.
Great position, spacious although disconnected. Second bedroom has a bathroom through the entrance area and up a passage. Kitchen and renovated bathrooms great.
No washing machine or tumble dryer. The central heating didn't warm the apartment sufficiently. At least 5 globes had expired.
Location and decoration.
DVD in living room did not work.
The apartment was amazing - warm cozy and loads of space. We have the apartment in Ramsay Gardens that overlooked Princes Streets and was right next to the castle. It was close to everything and the standards were very high and we were very impressed and will return.
Only thing that would have made it nicer was if there was parking at the apartment - but the car park was only about 5-10 minutes walk so not too bad.
Beautifully proportioned rooms. Very spacious. Excellent location. Secure Well equipped Mostly good quality facilities. Attentive maintenance person
Decor a little tired TV not working in living room Bathrooms need freshened up.
Heating is fine but the settings for the hot water is a bit annoying.
plenty of space and excellent location
plug in bath leaked to such an extent that bath was unusable which meant one shower between eight people had to store cases at key collection venue
Huge clean apartment with all the amenities, beautiful bathrooms. Real comforters. Quiet location. Restaurants and supermarket close by.
You have to pick up the keys on the opposite side of the town (1.5 mile away). Internet (dsl) only worked in the kitchen was and very spotty.
The apartment was very large and elegantly decorated, at a relatively short distance from the city centre.
The shower water heater apparently had a timer that switches it off after a specific time which we were not told of. As a consequence some of us found themselves having a really cold shower. To make things worse there was no hair dryer to be found. We reported the problem in the morning and after a short e-mail exchange the apartment management came to fix the problem. Another possible issue is the fact that the apartment is at a rather busy intersection with no double glazing at the windows, so the rooms (living room and kitchen) facing the road were quite noisy. Fortunately the bedrooms were on the back of the house.
Perfect location. Perfect value for money.
A lovely apartment (Haddington Place), which despite being on a very busy corner is quiet (esp. in the bedrooms) with loads of light. The lady who checked us in (Fiona?) was very pleasant and helpful - good restaurant and shopping suggestions, and handled the fact that the en-suite bathroom was unavailable due to a leak they couldn't find by providing a good discount. Excellent location for everything (bus stops are about two blocks up, so no loitering near-by). Linens provided were very nice. Pictures are accurate.
Check-in location is not an easy walk from Waverly station with luggage in tow, and the opposite direction of the apartment (we took a cab to the apartment for about £8). En-suite bathroom wasn't available (but see 'positives'). In need of some mirrors hung at a lower level, or a full-length - my mother had a difficult time 'dressing'.
fantastic, the location ramsey gardens was next to the castle, royal mile. big luxury apartment for 7 we felt like royality.
Excellent location for enjoying the Edinburgh festival events
Noise from the road
Wonderful neighborhood, the Saxe Coburg apartment sits on a Georgian crescent, just steps from cafes and pubs on charming neighborhood streets. As a basement flat- it opens to a garden. The owner even provided keys to the locked private square. Excellent amenities: tv, etc. bathrooms and kitchen are 5 star quality.
Wifi was not free as described.
The location of the Haddington Place was perfect for city visit. The accomodation looks as it was described
The address of the apartment was received only after when got the keys from the office. The original address received during the booking was not the right one.
