Had a nice little two night stay here. Great location, friendly check-in staff, decent sized two bedroom apartment and a Starbucks at your front door! Easy living!
Wifi speed was ridiculously slow when it worked. Some of the fixtures and fittings were a bit tired (wardrobe doors, window blinds, bedside lamps and no TV in either bedroom for that lazy holiday lie-in!
View over the meadows from the front of the apartment. Walking distance to all cental attractions Well equipped kitchen Local Sainsbury's Parking on site at reasonable rate Sarah at check in was a lovely, helpful friendly person.
Building site to side-started work at 7.30 on Monday. Also made view from bedroom unattractive (however opaque blinds helped).
Easy access to and from city. Parking great.
Size of flat was I deal.
The apartment was really nice and we were very central to everything would defiantly stay here again x
Smartly furnished, very clean and tidy spacious apartment (with optional parking a bonus) in excellent location for all central Edinburgh attractions
At the moment construction still in progress at the Quartermile site
The space, facilities, general ambience and appearance, position, views, the carton of milk in the fridge.
The hard mattress, very thin blind that did not keep out bright lights from builders' huts throughout night; awkwardness of getting from office to apartment and vice versa.
no one cleaned our roon for 3 days
The location was excellent for our purposes, as we were dropping off our daughter at the university. The apartment was clean and spacious.
The wi-fi was almost non-existent. We were forced to go to the Starbucks downstairs for a reliable signal. Many items in the apartment were broken or in poor condition. The baseboards were cracked and split and coming out of the walls. The shower was backed up and stank as a result. The TV didn't work properly and was not fixed until our fifth and last night. We could easily go on. Some of these issues were addressed during our stay. Others were ignored. We wrote a detailed report to the management several weeks ago but have received no reply. Had the apartment been as advertised, the price would have been on the high side of fair. As it was, we felt thoroughly fleeced. Perhaps we were just unlucky with this particular apartment and perhaps other My-Quartermile Apartments are in perfect condition. We will never know as we will never again stay in any building managed by this company.
Close to University of Edinburgh Clean and tidy, new facility
Construction work in the surrounding area, noisy in the early morning starting 7 am
the location was great. The staff were very good.
the property was run down and needed some care. bathroom had mold and rust in the shower. the shower design flooded the floor every time it was used, so the door was rotted out. the leather couch in the living room was torn. the lights in the kitchen were burned out.
Gorgeous clean apartments. Lovely size and very comfortable. In a really nice area just a wee walk from the hussle and bussle.
What you see is what you get. New Building. Secured. Clean. Quite street. Walking distance from everything and anything you can think of. Nice park view. Parking available if booked. Well equipped. Good for long stay, families and people how like to prepare their own meals. Has a homey feel to it.
It is not a hotel Apartment, it is well equipped apartment only. The key collection is in a different location. No facilities like gym. WiFi is a portable router which is unreliable signal flow. The curtain is too light, so you can't sleep once the sun is up. There is no hangers in the bathroom even to hang your towel. Can't order a snack. No one is there to signs you out.
Lovely outlook - interesting area - good location for city, university etc - very airy and clean apartment. Efficient admin arrangements.
Building site next door 1000 check-out bit too early Could have benefitted from more cutlery and crockery - no chance of using the dishwasher - would have run out of plates etc after one meal.
The staff (Sarah & co) were uber helpful, lots of friendly advice about the city.
Originally we got given quite a small apartment in the old style of building, personal I prefer the large glass fronted buildings as very light an more room but a quick call to Sarah (receptionist) and we had an apartment swap.
10/10 for this stunning apartment. Gorgeous views of the park. I hope this new venue is kep upto scratch .... I can't wait to come back!
We liked the location and the floor to ceiling windows. It was great to have a Starbucks and sainsburys downstairs.
When we arrived it was nearly midnight so we were quite tired. Unfortunately one of the first things we noticed was the sheets were quite dirty. There was hair and lint around the top of the duvet and some on the sheets as well. There were no spare blankets so we tried to brush to duvet off and went to sleep feeling a bit grossed out. There were other issues as well. At 7am sharp on Saturday and Monday the sainsburys trucks downstairs made a LOT of noise loading and unloading. Nothing short of sedatives could allow one to sleep through the noise. It lasted for about 45 minutes each time. The lights are all super bright and do not dim. The shower had really moldy grout and overall the flat was looking sort of ragged. We complained but were told we could not be moved. We were not offered any money off. Buyer beware!!
Loved the area and layout of the apartment..cleanliness also excellent.
We loved the location - beautiful surrounds, close to a shops, restaurants and not far from city centre. The kitchen was well equipped with the necessary utensils.
Uncomfortable slanting bed, apartment needs some maintenance as the skirtings are coming apart. Bedding was frayed and not fresh. Wi-fi was erratic but the office was quick to get someone to come and fix it.
the cost of the booking was taken from my account shortly after booking the apartment some 3/4 months before my stay. This was unacceptable. No toilet facilities in the office when we collected the key.
The location is fantastic - great views over the meadows
There is only one lift up to this eight floor apartment, which was out of action all of the four days we were there. The car park is 2 floors down and the way out is badly sign posted. There was an awful smell of drains eminating from the plug hole in the shower. This disappeared as soon as the water ran, but it was really offensive to wake up to every morning. My apartments failed to respond to my emails following our stay.
The location was very convenient, the apartement spacious and well designed. The stuff also was very kind and helpful. It was like being at home, even though away from home.
Something was wrong with the air circulation, as from time to time we had kitchen smells coming from other apartments.
The location is very convenient. It is within walking distance to major attraction (Edinburgh's Castle, National Museum of Scotland, etc). Sainsbury's and Starbucks is just downstairs.
The booking agency of this properties has various apartments on hand. It would be better if they provide photo/detail of actual room that guest will get upon booking. Key pick up location is a bit far from apartment (about 0.6 mile via Meadow Walk). Wifi is sluggish from time to time (It's 3 Mifi). Some unclean corner on bathroom floor.
The location was great and we liked the neighborhood.
The couch wasn't very comfortable and the noise from the deliveries from the supermarket downstairs was a bummer.
Location is perfekt! Near att Nice park and city. Clean and stylish!
Hair dryer was hidden in bedroom:( I found it when i was leaving!
Excellent location for Edinburgh sightseeing and the university (George's Square campus). Very light, modern and spotlessly clean corner apartment, with lovely view of the Meadows, through the huge windows. Peter's Yard Swedish bakery, Starbucks and small Sainsbury short walk from apartment was very useful. Also recommend the Malaysian restaurant very close to apartment.
Nothing really, we had a fabulous stay in our apartment, but just to be aware that the apartments seem to be situated in different buildings in the Quartermile area as a whole. Our apartment appeared to be very new, at 11 Simpsons Loan (flat 5), and really lovely, whereas the friends we travelled with had a slightly older and smaller apartment, not quite as nice, in the block above the bakery and supermarket. Our friends reported quite a bit of noise with early morning deliveries on the Monday as others have noted. (Not an issue at all where we were located). What we did have was a bit of noise from the building work opposite but if you are staying over a weekend this shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if you are up early each morning as we were.
