Hotel clean , comfortable bed
On our night first there the food served in bar was just awful no where near the standard we had come to expect over the years. Sunday night we had dinner in the Restaurant it was disappointing. Junior staff in the restaurant were pleasant. We were staying 2 nights it felt like it was a question of just running us through the system
Beautiful traditional building (hall) located within easy reach of the Eastern side of Birmingham/Birmingham Airport and Coventry.
Staff are helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Food was hot and well presented. Central location to the NEC if you are visiting a show. Short easy drive to Stratford on Avon and Warwick.
The shower in our on-suite room could have been hotter and more powerful. Red meat served with chocolate sauce is not to my liking so we swerved this item on the menu!
staff friendly, where they had the wedding venue was really lovely, reception also done really nicely and very comfy beds
Wedding was on Friday, after a late night at the wedding reception 2.00am, we were woken up at approximately 7.45am with pneumatic drills being used by workmen, not quite sure where the work was being done but it was incredibly loud, consequently as the whole wedding party stayed in the same area everyone was up. Reception spoke to the workmen to ask them to stop and they did. But unfortunately everyone was up by time and some not in the best of form, such a shame a beautiful day and evening was ruined by such carelessness.
Loved pool, hot tub, steam room. Nicely furnished room.
Bath dumped outside window which was removed shortly after we told them about it, room too stuffy and couldn't open window which we told them about, and shower temperature difficult to control. Cobwebs around bedroom and bathroom ceiling.
in the room you could hear a boiler or air conditioning coming on and off all night
Really friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts. Beautiful building and surroundings. Perfect :)
The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Room was very well appointed and comfortable. The Leisure Centre was very nice.
Very little. The mattress and bedding could have been a little more comfortable but it didn't spoil the stay.
Booked three double rooms for an overnight stay as my daughter was celebrating her birthday here. A Three course meal was also arranged for a group of 21 people. Think we must have been up-graded as we were all in named rooms, which were spacious, clean & well appointed. Even had power points close to a mirror which so many hotels rooms seem to miss. Meal was in a private room around a large oval table, which made it easier to talk to/see more of each guest. Each of the 3 courses came out in a timely fashion & looked & tasted good. Staff were friendly & helpful at each point of contact. Breakfast next morning in the Oak room, was plentiful & gave ample choices. It was served by cheerful staff who really seemed to care that you had good service. Would recommend & go again.
Wine was a bit pricey but then it is in most hotels.
I only booked the room for our guests from China. They said their stay was excellent on all accounts. Also Justyna was very helpful and efficient in dealing with requests we made with payment of this booking.
Interesting old place. Good food with room service.
Water heater/ heating was very noisey in room 2, and prevented a good nights sleep.
Gymn & pool Comfortable bed and room Food Waitress served breakfast
Signage or rather lack of it made it very difficult to find.
I liked the location where I stayed it is very nice location also liked the modern bedrooms
Way over priced, also allergic to pets and there was a cat sitting in reception counter when I asked for it to be removed staff got funny and said cat own hotel.
Very friendly hotel, excellant food. Staff helpful. Golf course challenging!
Bar area is comfortable but not big enough.
Nice friendly hotel, the room we had and my mothers room were nice. The meal we had was good as well and we were made to feel welcome.
Main bar is to small we had to sit in the corridor in the afternoon. and service was little slow.
room was very clean and comfortable (new part above swimming pool ) breakfast superb, and staff very good.
the bar meal was not as described on the menu and not the standard I would expect for the money paid .
Great bed, very comfortable, excellent breakfast with superb attentive staff they couldn't do enough for us, this was the morning of the 20th of November so they know who they are well done. Bathroom shower was excellent
Reception, blink and you miss it. We walked passed the entrance several times not even realising what it was and the particular staff member we encountered when we did manage to find reception was distinctly uninterested I guess it was late for her being 21.30. Now being that this is the first encounter you have at the hotel wouldn't you want it to be fitting of a 4 star establishment, I think so.
Breakfast was poor for a 4 star hotel. We were not allowed the bar menu in the restaurant and had to eat on low tabl
S in a very unprepossimg bar. We had booked a table and the dining room was not full. Manager not very accommodating. Wouldn't use this hotel again.
Service, staff, food and the cat.
A beautiful old building with modern extensions. Good location with plenty of parking. Helpful, knowledgeable, well trained staff who are genuinely friendly as opposed to a corporate smile. Good quality food, well served in a restaurant with old world charm. Good sized pool with Jacuzzi & steam room. Free Wi-Fi. Competitively priced. I will stay here again if I'm in the area.
It's was all good
excellent room in the new annex, upgraded to superior with 4 poster, which was superb. Very comfy bed. restaurant absolutely divine - well done to the chef and the excellent service!! Owners were dining at the same time, always a good sign, and they were very friendly and helpful.
price - food and wine very sensible price especially given the quality, but £25-£35 per room higher price to similar country hotels I always stay in all other the UK, which took the edge off an almost perfect stay....
A loverly Hotel in a lovely setting. Will definitly return.
Friendly staff, historical building. Delicious meals.
