excellent room in the new annex, upgraded to superior with 4 poster, which was superb. Very comfy bed. restaurant absolutely divine - well done to the chef and the excellent service!! Owners were dining at the same time, always a good sign, and they were very friendly and helpful.
price - food and wine very sensible price especially given the quality, but £25-£35 per room higher price to similar country hotels I always stay in all other the UK, which took the edge off an almost perfect stay....
A loverly Hotel in a lovely setting. Will definitly return.
Friendly staff, historical building. Delicious meals.
Good value for money , friendly staff great room excellent bed really cosy
excellent service in restaurant in the evening especially by young gentlemen flambe' ing the steaks.
waiting 45 mins from entering breakfast room until starting to eat breakfast. having to call room service to get the jacuzzi bath to work and for bathrobes(which came with no ties when finally provided) being keep awake until 2am by noisy wedding party
Room, food, pool facilities
We were not told that we were 1 of only 2 rooms booked that were not part of a wedding party. Our room was 12 feet from a marque playing loud music until 2. I wish we were told. I have spoken to the staff who were great. Requested that management speak to me, emailed, called, still no reply. Disgusted, don't stay there.
Breakfast cooked when youv'e decided what you want, toast supplied, we not great fans of making own toast and buffet breakfasts so this hotel a real pleasure, also options for breakfast can be had at a small extra charge
Not that we didn't like it but we did find wifi difficult to obtain and finally give up
Extremely helpful Reception staff. Late departure accomodated.
Room was extremely hot. No bottles of water in room.
very friendly and relaxing.Meal in restaurant excellent and service very good. All very clean and rooms and all the hotel have very good decor. It was so nice to have personal service at breakfast and not have to queque for a buffet. We ordered our breakfast from the menu and and it was delivered to us hot and with a friendly smile. What a bonus. Unfortunately buffet breakfasts seem to be the norm even in the best hotels but maybe I am a bit old fashioned.Excellent stay.
Never stayed in a four star hotel before and not had bottled water provided and the obligotory toiletries in the room. This was a first for us and very surprising.Guests do expect little extras for the price they are paying and it has always been part of the service.
Lovely hotel, excellent & very comfortable stay, restaurant food was amazing!
We had an issue with the rooms allocated and the staff sorted everything out for us without any fuss. Could not be more helpful any will definately be staying again.
Loved the grounds, the bedroom, amazing comfy and enormous bed. Lovely food, staff very helpful and attentive.Pool was great.
The bar area was a little tired and small considering size of hotel. Asked for a martini and it was disappointing as clearly poured from a bottle. Not the real thing. Really small issues. The hotel is lovely!
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The ambience of the entire place Spacious, comfortable rooms Food excellent Free wifi excellent Plenty of parking
Only problem encountered was the cistern of the wc in my room, it flushed with difficulty (was attended to but only worked again temporarily) and needs repairing or replacing.
The atmosphere was very convivial. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was gorgeous.
Being the last for breakfast next morning the hot food was cold. The overall choice was amazing.
comfortable hotel with some character, nice pool area, well prepared food in the restaurant although slightly overpriced, lovely breakfast
rather poorly worded menu - no explanation on how particular dishes are cooked ie. pan fried? roasted? boiled? - would be nice to know, not a lot of choice of dishes for the price & very meat oriented, also very expensive but no imagination, basic children's menu
good location, easy access. Nice pool. Grounds
not quite a grand as the photos would make it appear, but ok though.
+ It is a very nice hotel beside the golf course, quiet, clean and comfortable + Good for business stay + Serve full english breakfast which is also recommended
+ A bit country side, not easier to get there, especially in evening; + Arrived at the nearly railway station Tile Hill, difficult to find taxi to hotel (from hotel to other place can request hotel staff help arrange); + Dinner at hotel is well presented but taste was fair (it might depend on people, but the quality of the steak was not really worth for money)
Everything it was ideal for a weekend break.
View from our window, renovation work going on outside.
The service was outstanding and food in the restaurant was excellent.
The wifi was intermittent and prevented playback on video services.
People location comfortable beds and pillows. The rating should be outstanding.
Very quiet location Nice indoor pool and spa
Check-out time at 10:30 am is too early Restaurant closes at 10:30pm
- The grounds - The location - The owner (responsive to complaints and suggestions) - Being upgraded
- Lack of customer service - Lack of efficiency of staff - Having to wait 40 mins to eat (booked table for 20:30, food didn't arrive until 21:10)
The location was great. Both the room and the bathroom were clean, although there was a long hair on the bathroom floor, which was rather off-putting. Breakfast was good, especially as it was cooked freshly.
The room was rather dark, as the TV was placed directly in front of the east-facing window. It was also rather cluttered - too much furniture. Unfortunately, there were two parties during the evening of our stay, which impeded our sleep, with a noisy disco until 1.00, and inconsiderate guests banging the doors of their rooms until 2.00 in the morning.
Suited our needs as we were en route to a conference in Nottingham and needed somewhere to stop. Fine for one night.
Disappointed. Not what we would consider a 4 star hotel or romantic! Although our room had been recently painted, the net curtains were grey with dirt and there was a large water mark on the bathroom ceiling. Only one bath towel and no hand towel was provided and one small square of soap for 2 people to use for both the bath/shower and basin. Everywhere looked tired and a bit dated. Went to Kenilworth, a short drive away for dinner which cost less than the afternoon tea the hotel provides. We didn't want the full afternoon tea so just had a cup of tea, as there was no other alternative.
Great location, friendly staff. J Daley Perthshire
