The location, the owner, and the house, also really nice breakfast.room was so comfortable it also had a fantastic view
Nanny Brow is a beautiful place with awesome views and our hosts looked after us incredibly well over the weekend. The room that we stayed in was very nice and the cakes left in our room were delicious and a welcome treat after days spent out in the December Ambleside elements. For me, the pinnacle of our stay was breakfast. The 'full English' was hearty and everything that you would expect and more and the salmon and scrambled eggs and the 'drop scones' were amazing! My wife and I like to try different and new hotels whenever we go away but the next time we go to the Lake District, Nanny Brow will be the first hotel we try to book and we cannot wait to return.
Everything, would highly recommend.
Everything & everyone we met we were made to feel extremely welcome
the feel of the house
Myself and my Fiancee stayed here for a birthday celebration - the staff were very friendly and helful and the little touches like the homemade cake and the offer of a beer at 11pm when we arrived were very much apreciated. the owners were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing! all in all a great stay!
Nothing at all !!
- very bad staff - dogs everywhere - room heating was not working - insects in the room - there was a bad smell in all hotel areas - breakfast was horrible - bad location, you will need 40 min minimum to get taxi, and far away from the town
The accommodation and location was amazing.
the only little issue, was the mattress, needs to be changed, otherwise an excellent choice and great value for money
staff were very friendly and helpful.the hotel had a loverly veiw,it was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was top quality enjoyed my stay
Extremely helpful and courteous staff , Very comfortable rooms with a good view of the fells . Excellent choice for breakfast and local produce was very good indeed. two lovely lounge area's to sit and chill out reading or for a quite drink at the end of the day . will return again
No need to get in the car. A walk that starts behind the house which leads to an amazing view of Windermere and then down to Ambleside. Comfortable, restful accommodation. Delicious, generous breakfast, lovely homemade jams....
Such an amazing location, place and even better service. The people working here were helpful and always ready to give any information. Breakfast was delicious and the service was efficient. Definitely will Come back again!!
Welcome. Quality. Cake. Views. Comfort. Breakfast.
Everything was to an impeccable standard. Beautiful surroundings and a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
The rooms were lovely, comfortable and well furnished. Everything worked beautifully. Breakfast was delicious and the welcome gingerbread cake was just that - very welcome.
Stunning B&B with first class facilities. A wonderfully restored Arts & Crafts house in which the owners have created the perfect balance between luxury and informality. The breakfasts are delicious, the rooms offer every comfort and the location is ideal for exploring the Lake District.
We were looking for somewhere nice last minute, this place was right where we wanted. Great staff, lovely rooms and a fantastic breakfast as well as helping us find a restaurant for our night out. Have recommended to several friends.
great stay,lovely room,friendly staff.yummy breakfast.
The house was beautifully restored to it's former glory. Very comfortable and good facilities - large, comfortable guest lounge, breakfast dining for up to 26+ guests in attractive dining room, and wine bar serving wines by the bottle and spirits by the glass. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Sue and Peter are great hosts every detail is perfect makes the stay unforgetable
Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, overall clenliness of the establishment and the excellent breakfast.
Only gripe was the bed a little bit on the soft side.
Our room was outstanding and the view breathtaking. Breakfast was delightful. Great food and wonderful atmosphere.
We had to leave.
The b&b is a beautiful building in a magnificent location. While we had no complaints about the stay really, there were a couple of things that would make the place perfect. Cakes in the room were a nice touch.
Breakfast window between 8.15 and 8.45am. When I pay £150 per night - to me that's a luxury budget - might not be for some but I'd like a little more choice of a lie in. Was very good though- no complaints about the food! Like wise for that budget facilities should be made available - glasses, cork screw, ice bucket - just provide one if required. The £5 charge or suggested donation to local charities seemed inappropriate when there's no bar on site and nothing in close walking distance.
Felt very comfortable and enjoyed the old style guest house approach : nothing was too much trouble, food good and very helpful with local travel advice
Booking.com increasing the cost of one of my two rooms after initial prices set
The location, service and breakfast were excellent.
