I enjoyed the views, atmosphere and excellent room and staff
Chef came out to see if the kids burger was okay which i thought was a very nice touch. All the staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely location in the Welsh countryside, perfect for a weekend break. Staff were wonderful, food was excellent, would definately recommend and will definately be returning.
A genuine country house in an idyllic location , quiet and peaceful surrounded by beautiful grounds . The staff are friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome . The food is excellent , the home made bread is particularly good .
The style inside is contemporary but in keeping with the age of the property. The bedroom was very big and comfortable. The price was excellent for what we had; no regrets.
The bar prices!! We would have eaten at the hotel that evening, especially because it was game night but it was unreasonable to pay so much when we could drive to Aberystwyth. We couldn't seem to control the heating in our room nor open the window and we did notice a couple of things in the room that let itself down quality wise; for example a substantial rip in the curtain, a wonky chair and some bathroom essentials that were 'out of stock'. Simple things that can make a big difference.
The laid back, peaceful atmosphere
The George Powell suite in which we stayed was extremely cosy. The staff friendly, dinner and breakfast was exceptional and will visit again in the near future.
The location, the service, the friendly staff, the room, the bed and the overall ambiance of the hotel.
The evening meal was the worst meal we have had in many a year ( tough steak on the bone a hand full of chips a marrow bone with some dried up stuffing !!!! and a half roasted tomato ) told the reception on checking out and they gave us a discount card for future stays OK we will stay again but would eat out in Aberystwyth. The breakfast was A1
Staff were lovely, hotel was lovely, room was fantastic!
Such a beautiful house with great views, fabulous rooms with great decor. Very friendly staff.
Great location, beautiful hotel and the food was excellent. Really helpful staff also meant that I'd definitely use it again.
Be prepared for limited wifi
A perfect place to meet up with our friends from Liverpool. Nanteos being the half way meeting point. Allocated a suite on arrival which was lovely. We also enjoyed our evening meal in addition to a lovely breakfast. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Thank you - hope to visit again.
Happy to report nothing negative to say.
the location, grounds, infrastructure, room size (and ceiling height), service and food
no phone signal wifi sporadic quite expensive at £120 - if £20 cheaper would definitely return
No Wifi in bedroom
Room was clean and bed extremely comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and hotel had a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Food was excellent.
Food was excellent but slightly expensive. Ok for one night but could not eat at hotel regularly if staying longer.
Everything was superb. The staff couldn't do enough to welcome or look after our needs. The food quality was excellent
The hotel needs a sign on the lane to say continue to the end. Satnav said you have arrived 200 yards short!
Staff were very helpful. Managed to get breakfast early as we needed to leave early. Enjoyed our stay.
Only issues were steak tartare was a bit bland and missing horseradish which was on the menu and waiter tried twice to fill our sparkling water and dessert wine glasses with still water.
Truly wonderful staff. Fabulous breakfasts. Beautiful (and spacious) rooms. Great grounds. Faultless. Left feeling totally refreshed.
A tiny niggle - the wifi doesn't stretch to all parts of the building.
Great Hotel Nice Location Amazing Bedroom Friendly staff
Attentive and friendly staff, clean and large bedrooms and a house and grounds to explore. Peace !!!
If stopping longer, eating 5 star cuisine every night and detract from its enjoyment. An offer of more simple fare to aid variety and offset the rich wonderful food, may prove beneficial to patrons of your restaurant.
The staff are excellent- warm, welcoming and helpful. They really do make you feel most welcome. The hotel is beautiful- a bit like Downton Abbey! Lovely drive into the property through fields of sheep grazing and a placid lake. I would recommend that you pack your wellies and go on a circular walk around the property- great way to burn off a wonderful breakfast. Tassimo machine in the room is great. The bed was comfortable and the immaculate, white striped bed linen, a pleasure. The hotel is a lovely blend of charming old character and modern comforts.
I had read very good reviews about the food so we decided to dine in. I was less than impressed. The food in itself is tasty but the portions are small. Also, the only vegetarian item in the entire menu was the soup of the day. When I enquired about vegetarian mains, all on offer was a seasonal vegetable pie. For the price of the meal, this is probably not something we'd do if we visit again. Decor could be better. The Dylan Thomas suite has a modern wardrobe which is not at all in keeping with the rest of the suite. Also, a big tear in the long window curtain which could do with mending.
location lovely and very quiet
room wasnt cleaned for two days dust on surfaces on arrival and wasnt cleaned
A fine restoration of a notable country house. Food and facilities excellent, staff delightful.
Everything - the decor, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, etc. But the best thing was the food - dinner and breakfast was a culinary delight. One of the best meals we've ever had!
Rooms were great - well designed and proportioned. Staff lovely and the setting was amazing - a little remote, which suited me!
Bed was a little uncomfortable and (I think due to the construct of the building), the wifi wasn't great - only in communal areas. That said, this isn't always a bad thing and personally it was nice to 'switch off'.
