A residence with a sense of elegance, Harry’s is conveniently located in the heart of Aberystwyth near the waterfront, train station and shopping center; an ideal choice for any visit.
Score from 393 reviews Very good
Right by the beach on Aberystwyth’s Victorian promenade, this hotel offers wholesome pub food, a cooked breakfast and sea views.
Score from 483 reviews Very good
The acres of parkland around the main building, the quality and quantity of the food, the luxurious bedroom and the ability to relax with a good book in the reading room.
The non-existent mobile phone signal as soon as you passed over the threshold into reception and beyond.
Very friendly staff, well appointed rooms, beautiful surrondings
Very minor issue but worth a mention for anyone who simply cannot live without internet access - the wifi is variable and only generally available in reception. Did not impact on our stay though.
Wonderful place to stay. The staff were extremely helpful getting me a tour guide at very short notice he gave me a great tour of Aberystwyth and got me to the train station in lots of time for my train. Visited from Canada as I am a decendent of the Powell family and plan to come again.
Very friendly staff, fascinating building, food fantastic. Fully recommend on all levels, you will not be dissapointed.
The entire experience was a pleasure. My partner & I have stayed in many places and this has been the best by far. The staff are wonderful, the place has that impressive 'wow' factor & it's well located for Aberystwyth.
If I had to knit pick, some of the lights in the chandeliers in our room(s) were not working & the headboard constantly banged.
Everything is amazing!
this was a great hotel really lovely food very nice staff and would stay there again and again we are thinking off booking over Christmas again
the only thing was the bed it was two single together as the room was so nice large and in taste for the year the bed let it down but I must say that did not spoil the weekend we both enjoyed it
Lovely building with wonderful ambience. Large room and very good bathroom. Receptionist who took booking and check out -excellent.
Tassimo coffee machine. Wait for breakfast Small breakfast room which did not allow guests sufficient room- too many tables. No cup and saucer on table and another guest had same problem. She took one from another table because the waitress was nowhere to be seen. Variety of cereals and fruit limited. Greeting receptionist lacked appropriateskills.
Luxurious, relaxing place to stay in a beautiful setting. Could not fault a thing. Staff very attentive food amazing. We had a suit overlooking the gardens to the front of the building which was fitted with everything you could possibly want.
Coffee maker in room was replaced with jug kettle and usual assortment of teas and coffee. Had we not known there should be anything different we would not have been disappointed that the coffee maker was not there!!
Friendly members of staff, very knowledgeable of the history of the house. Relaxing atmosphere. Excellent secluded location (not too far from Aberystwyth town centre). Honey moon suite was incredible!! Couldn't have asked for more..
The food was lovely and ambience superb
It definitely is a mansion. Tastefully restored. Excellent staff
There is nothing we didn't like
Lovely big clean room, comfy and modern furnishings, view to front is lovely but most rooms seem to be at rear.
Arrived at 2pm, room not ready until 2:20pm...not what you want after 2 hours in car and arrival timed to expected room availability. Bar area a bit cold atmosphere, cushions and some of decor should belong in rainforest cafe. A king size bed to me is exactly that not 2 singles velcroed together with no topper. That said team responded well and sorted all issues, lovely room, would stay again.
The place is great, with really comfortable bedrooms and the staff are some of the most helpful I've come across.
Lovely old building and grounds. Excellent location. Totally relaxing. Excellent dinner in restaurant and breakfast.
Just lacked some atmosphere. A bit too quiet. Could have done with more toiletries in bathroom.
food, drink, surroundings, company :)
bed was described as a king size, however it was 2 large singles pushed together
Enjoyed our stay in March, so came back for a 2nd visit
The staff were very friendly. The location was peaceful. The house was even more beautiful than we expected. We would recommend this as a perfect treat to anyone.
Beautiful building in glorious grounds. Excellent food, large room with excellent bed - a great nights sleep. Very peaceful setting. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Everything was very good. The only issue was, while our room was cleaned, the bed was not made after our first night - I tend to think this was simply a mistake by whoever looked after our room. We only stayed 2 nights so do not know if the bed would have been made if we were staying longer.
The whole experience was lovely. Staff couldnt do enough for you. Our room was beautiful. The food was faultless. Will defenetly return
The Nateos is in a very tranquile setting, with beautiful surroundings.
Unfortunately there was a family of four staying, of which two were young boys ( say 8 & 10). The parents had little control over them, therefore they ran riot each evening when other guests were having their evening meal. There were a lot of raised eyebrows, so it spoilt our visit to a certain extent.
The quiet surroundings, the comfortable bed, the friendly staff - all outstanding. The balance between an old mansion and a contemporary renovation (e.g. bathroom) is well thought out.
food, rooms and staff were up to the highest standards
Friendly but very professional staff. Tranquil and very secluded setting. Well-evidenced history. Characterful, Listed Building. Modern facilities tastefully incorporated into original features. Excellent bed and bedding, so we slept very soundly. Great menu, beautifully presented cuisine, very enjoyable evening. Well-stocked bar. Good choice of reasonably-priced dinner wines. Pleasant grounds (but see dislikes).
Our ground-floor room was in an annex at rear of hotel, and we had to cross a small courtyard to get to it, in the rain. The 'bathroom' did not have a bath. It was a very large open-plan wet-room, equipped for disabled users, and its' functionality (fold-down shower seat; grab handles around that and the toilet; two red alarm cords; adapted second washbasin etc) ruined its' charm. I accidentally triggered the alarm, and the receptionist did not know how to turn it off. It had two washbasins, but one was very low, for wheelchair-users. Water from the shower bounced and spread across whole floor. Nowhere safe to hang dry clothes - two wall pegs were too close to the shower, so dry clothes got splashed; and the wet floor made it impossible to get dressed in the bathroom. Nowhere to place soap, shampoo, or shower gel etc whilst showering. Main washbasin was very large, projecting two feet from the wall. The lack of a light over the mirror made it difficult to see in order to wet-shave. the basin took several minutes to empty (maybe drain partially blocked?). Windows were single-glazed, sash-cord. No net curtains or blinds to provide privacy in bedroom - with curtains open, everyone walking by, or looking out of the main building could see across the whole bedroom. Walled 'kitchen garden' was set to lawn and devoid of any plants. These negative points spoiled an otherwise extremely enjoyable stay, and made the room rate seem too high.
