This was the 4th year we had stayed at this hotel and it was lovely to be welcomed back. We like the hotel for many reasons - the friendly atmosphere being very important - but it is also particularly well located to explore the whole of Anglesey. The staff are always friendly and pleasant, the rooms are clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the mountains. The food is excellent. I was impressed by the way the staff coped so well with a very large party on Friday night as well as their hotel guests. Nothing - we look forward to going back again next year.

The hotel was in a good location, down a small country lane and handy for the A55. It was very quite and peaceful. The food was good although the menu was the same every night. It has a very comfortable lounge area. The menu was the same every night, OK if you are staying overnight but not if you are staying for a week or more and it bacame monotonous, found this disappointing, considering it promotes itself as a restaurant. Most of the guests stayed one night, probably going to and from Ireland via the ferry, so we did not get to know anybody. In our room there was a dreadful shortage of storage space, no wardrobe and two small drawers, so we had to keep all our clothes in our suitcases. The shower in one of our rooms seemed to be fixed on hot and became unusable. Great place for overnight stays, not for a week or more.

The management and staff were really friendly. The food was beautiful. Our stay revolved around a gathering of sheep breeders and agm of the Society and 30+ of us also attended a dinner at the hotel one evening. Everyone was served quickly and all food was lovely. Very welcoming.

Excellent menu for the evening meal and the breakfast was great. The room was very comfortable, perfect for our needs The cold water was as hot as the hot water in room 15 which meant the shower was unusable, but I am sure it would have run cold if given the time

The waitress staff were excellent, friendly, polite and happy to assist where possible. The hotel and our room was light, bright and very comfortable. It was lovely and quiet and we had a beautiful room of the countryside from our room. The food at breakfast and in the dining room was good and reasonably priced. Plenty of car park space. On being shown to our room, we noticed that there was an areas of bench that had a coating of dried Horlicks which had not been cleaned off. I tried to wipe it off but it was stuck fast. One of the coffee mugs had not been cleaned properly and there was dried hot chocolate down the inside of it. My husband took the dirty mug downstairs to replace it with a clean and to advise the receptionist/manager, as to the state of the bench top. The Manager came upstairs, had a look at the dirty bench, gave it a superficial wipe which achieved nothing, then placed a new cup tray on top of one of the soiled areas and promptly left. She was obviously annoyed that we had bothered her, making no apologies for the lack of cleanliness and being quite abrupt. Not a good start to our stay. The hotel is basically stuck out in the middle of nowhere so if you want to eat out, you have to drive.

As we were travelling to Ireland, via Holyhead, the Hotel provided an excellent and very comfortable overnight stay en route. Perfectly located, just fifteen miles from the port of Holyhead and only two minutes from the main road. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. It truly had that 'old world' feel about it. The evening meal was excellent with a good choice on the menu. The food was well cooked and well presented and plentiful. The lounge was very comfortable. We slept well after a long day's drive. Highly recommended!

Convenient location for sight-seeing in Anglesey and for the Holyhead ferry-port. The hotel is expensive for the type of accomodation. The restaurant is expensive for the quality and range of dishes at dinner.
