The bar staff were very nice and friendly, and we enjoyed our eve meal, very nice food.well recommended.
We thought we may be able to pay for a cooked breakfast, but were told at 9am that we had missed the breakfast, but could not smell that any had been cooked, we had to drive to Toby's to get the breakfast!!! Shame
Free and ample parking with friendly bar staff and pleasant locals in a tudor style english pub with very few 'pretend' features added by over zealous designers. What you see is what you get and much of it it is original. I hadn't booked breakfast beforehand but the breakfast supplied was good and the cost and value for money was excellent. Very good value for money.
Water pressure in the shower was a on the low side but the water was hot.
No cooked breakfast on offer. This was not obvious when booking. Both rooms were small and very warm. Window locks prevented the windows from being opened from more than a slight gap. Overall I would not recommend this pub for an overnight stay.
Location and character of the building (old English pub). It was also really close to relatives that I was visiting.
Plumbing - poor shower quality - really hard to adjust water temp and the taps not easy to use. Bit noisey, above a bar and close to busy road junction = not good for more than a few days stay.
Comfortable beds. Convenient location.
Noise from the pub going on till very late. No full length mirror. No early breakfast available.
The picture on the wall
room very poor, not serviced for the second night. Unused telephone socket hanging off wall. Stains on carpet near bed, carpet fraid near window. Toilet roll holder broken (toilet kept falling on floor) furniture shabby. only had any contact with staff when i checked in. I did email hotel when i arrived home sent photos of the faults they did not bother to reply
The Narborough Arms is located within a minutes walk of the Railway Station and within two minutes walk to the business I was visiting in the morning. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast wasn't included, not sure if it was even available. Food was typical pre-prepared pub food and a little over heated but still ok and reasonable value for the money.
Price. Proximity to M1. Deluxe double is a nice quirky beamed large room with bath and tons of space, large king sized bed.
Staff were clueless. Manager preferred to chew the fat with his mates than look after customers. We decided to chance the menu which was a disaster as my other half's choice of starred mega hot dog was unavailable because staff forgot to take key ingredient out of freezer. Second choice of all day breakfast came without advertised bangers, which upon comment were brought later in a bowl and plonked on table. No Prosecco - there's a coop over the road - a smart manager would have sent someone over to get some. Will not be coming back. Contractors and local yob and druggie orientated.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and set at a good price. Room was very clean and spacious with en-suite bath/shower. Beds were very comfortable.
Convenient for motorway , Leicester and rail connection. Food reasonably priced.
Very noisy fire door [unfixed after previous stay 2 years ago] Shower has two settings..scalding or icy. Sink taps faulty. En-suite door did not close. Bed was very uncomfortable with thin , cheap mattress. Carpet was grubby. Wi-fi signal weak and un-usable. Room hot with poor ventilation. Minimal information given. Suggest avoid !
Cheap room, value for money. Busy bar.
We were put in room 2 which was right above the front entrance, very very very loud and noisy until shutting time, ok if you are drinking in the bar but not if you are trying to sleep! Shower does not sit well to be able to use, had to be hand held. Only time saw member of staff was at check in.
I liked the character of the building, and how close it was to the train station. The superior double that we had was spacious and clean.
The pub below closed at 1am, and whilst we were expecting it, the noise travelled alot. The walls are very thin, so we could hear people talking in the room next door. When we checked in, there was no mention of breakfast options, nor were we shown to our room. That being said, I'm not fussy about that sort of thing, and it suited its purpose.
Room was large [although a bit dark even during the day]Great ensuite. Will most likely stay again but this time in a room not directly over the bar. Location of the Inn is great.
Mini-fridge in the room would have been good; also some information about the area, and the Inn, Very noisy fire door in accommodation area,,,needs dampening !!
Friendly staff and good food. Needs a little updating but on the whole good value for money. Breakfast not included but very good and really good value for money.
No room cleaning but only there 3 nights so not a problem.
two nights were rowdy out side shouting, laughing, breaking glasses bottles, very loud, people waiting for taxis till 2 am, they should either, operate as night club or hotel , one or the other
the bed was comfortable
we upgraded our room at a cost of £7 .when we booked in the room seemed fine BUT when we got back late in the evening th noise was horrendous live music in the bar directly beneath our room. I went down to complain but it was worse in the bar talking was virtually imossible the manager was called and he come with me to our room he agreed it was impossible to stay in this room so he moved us to an inferior room we did get repaid for our failed upgrade .Not again
The pub was nice, and friendly staff
The room was grotty the toilet was dirty and no toilet brush. The tiles in the bathroom needed a good clean and the walls in the bedroom need painting and need new carpets. Would never stay again!! My daughter and Partner stayed in another room and the smell of drains was disgusting. Don't know how it passes health and safety checks!! Also got to mention the hot water tap is dangerous too, when you put it on the red hot water spurts out at you!!
Good food and good beer
After the startling reviews that we had read. We booked the hotel expecting faulty towers in a council estate. On arrival the quirky property situated in a nice village we where pleasenty surprised. The pub was quite busy but vey friendly and very welcoming. The staff where helpful and polite. Our room was fantastic and the food was fair.
Some areas could do with upgrading and there are some issues with noise but only to be expected with a pub
A couple of pleasant members of staff.
Whole facility is very tired. Bed was uncomfortable. Massive potential if money was spent updating decor.
Very easy going. Car parking available. Easy to find. Very old building and a bit quirky, but ceiling beams need to be vacuumed as well as the carpet in a place like that.
Needs a good spring clean. Restaurant staff weren't great - starter and main course arrived at the same time and the waitress didn't understand why I asked her to take the main back and ask the chef to keep it warm. She still brought it out before we'd finished the starter! I think the barman was new, so that explains how he didn't know how to use a cork screw. Thermostats on radiators didn't work. It was ok tho' and I slept anyway :)
Friendly good food
The wifi was very poor in the room kept loosing wifi
Good central location for the town.
Room was a little small
