The ambience of the Hotel it was a very old building with loads of character much to my liking, The staff including the owner/manager were polite and helpful.I would recommend this hotel to anyone if only for it's peaceful location

Friendly and welcoming,great food reasonable price lovely setting

We were a group of friends passing through and decided to stay here rather than one of the annonymous chain hotels. We had a wonderful time. Very friendly atmosphere and locals. Restaurant, Bar, and Accomodation were all excellent. Charlie is the perfect host. The pub appears to be at the heart of the villages life. A lovely slice of real England.

Open window in bedroom, breakfast order not right, room over gents toilets,rugby on in every room and section of pub

The location and the premises provided a great location to stay, not knowing the viallge. The offerings in the pub looked great, however we did not have the chance to taste.... Breakfast however was good.

No complaints, only observation was that the room we had, has noisy plumbing when the flush was used!

Needed a b and b close to Grittleton Hotel as attending a wedding. Very close to venue. Huge rooms, nice food and handy to be above a pub.

Couldn't checking until 5.30 pm as pub was closed.

Location. Food was good, at the weekend the bar was busy good atmosphere and dog friendly!

Only pub in the village! But around the area the most to be found was two pubs in a village.

Unclean room (dust piling up over the four poster bed). Cheap lino in the bathroom. Chipped cups and dirty spoons in the room. Having stayed somewhere else (The Fleece in Cirencester) for the same money, this was dire in comparison. The food was very bland indeed - old boozer grub at gastro pub prices.

Hosts greet you with a smile. Staff are welcoming and fully prepared to help. Offers both dinner and breakfast. Excellent service. Will definitely return

Perhaps a little dated for some . Several missing electric bulbs.

Excellent pub, very comfortable accommodation in a nice 'country style', which we wanted. Pub food is excellent, as is the wine and beer. Location is fantastic to visit the National Arboretum, Bath and Bristol Owners were very warm and welcoming.

Showed confusing details on your site re booking in. Left hand top says 17.00 Was waiting from 16.30 in car park, but when tried to book in at 17.00 it was not open. Other details on the site state book in from 17.30, which I did finally. But not fun waiting for an extra 30 minutes after a busy day.

It is a lovely oldie-worldly pub. Most inviting, expecially the log fire making a warm cosy atmosphere. Would like to stay for longer next time to also enjoy the lovely rural surroundings. The service was excellent as was the food which was most enjoyable.

The bathroom could do with being bigger as the shower cubicle was compact.

The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. They were fully booked for dinner but as we were staying there they managed to squeeze us in a little later. The food was very good. The room had an en-suite and flat screen tv.

Every floor board creaked which then made the furniture rattle.In our room you could also hear the noise clearly from the pub below. So it was very noisy.

The evening meal and the beers were good although quite pricey.

I expected more for the money we paid. Car park poor condition. Rooms were OK but looked 'tired'.

The staff provided great service and they were very helpful. They assisted us with getting a train to Bath where we enjoyed the Spa. The pub atmosphere was very friendly and enjoyable.

Hospitality and food was fantastic, a very friendly pub in an absolutely beautifull village. We really enjoyed our stay..

cobweb in bathroom and bedroom a bit dusty which would have been very simple to rectify.
