Outside garden except sewerage smell. Style of old hotel was lovely. Breakfast included.
Was not clean. Some guests had dogs in their rooms. Bed uncomfortable and bathroom had disgusting floor covering - unhygenic. Somewhere inexpensive can still be clean and maintained. Disappointing.
Friendly, co-operative staff. Lots of interesting ornaments which gave a lovely ambiance. Good breakfast. Lively bar at night.
The meat in the steak and dumpling caserole was very undercooked in the bar meals.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and more offered than you could eat. spotless linen on the bed. The bar offered bar meals midweek and a good Sunday roast.
The hotel rooms did need some decorating.
Lovely breakfast. Very quite location, lovely staff.
The floors are very creaky when walking over them. It is an old house so maybe that is to be expected.
The staff and in particular the young lady that greeted us on arrival, served in the bar and also brought our evening meals . She was delightful, friendly and helpful. The bedroom and it's facilities were good.
The lounge was poorly arranged and , in spite of good sized grounds, there was no outdoor seating area except by the fairly busy road (in the shade). Presumably this was for the bar visitors who smoke but us non smokers like to sit outside too - particularly early evening on a sunny day.
Should have stayed longer
Staff friendly and helpful. Food good breakfast excellent. Also served until 9:30.
Carpet in bathroom made everything musty smell. Otherwise comfortable bed and facilities
Friendly staff; good breakfast in attractive diningroom; 4 poster bed; traditional room with nice furnishings
Room a bit tired requiring painting; a thicker shower screen would stop static!
Excellent staff, beautiful hotel in an isolated location. The managers were so accommodating and very helpful. Would def return.
It was superb.
New management had only been in occupation a few weeks but were exceptionally hospitable. They are aware of some decoration being needed but have this planned for. Rooms very comfortable and clean, breakfast is not to be missed. Ideal for a couple of chill out nights. Will be returning.
Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was good. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Liked the out in the country location. They were very accommodating when I arrived late
The place is tired and needs a clean up.
Very comfortable, great food, and Andy and Zoe made us feel very welcome. I'd certainly stay again.
Nice clean hotel. Lovely friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast could have been a better quality and larger portions.
Staff were very attentive and informative.Hotel very comfortable. Weather typical lake district-misty, sunny, heavy showers, but didn't spoil the holiday.
Location of hotel was really nice on a country road with beautiful views all around, food was really nice also the staff where really welcoming and friendly, the bar was a bit dated maybe in need of a bit refurbishment, four poster bed was comfortable for a goodnights sleep.
Their wasn't anything I didn't like.
The situation is lovely and so is the faded charm of the place. It really does need some money spent on it though. But I defy you not to chill out and enjoy the hotel!
The management has changed and they are not as competent as the previous team. Our welcome was lacking and then there was confusion over our booking (which the managers proceeded to argue with each other about!). Overall there is some lustre gone now this new team are in place - little things are missed which never were before when Adele and Naomi were in charge.
Staff Great Location Fantastic Owners love dogs Nice pub attached to hotel with open fire Dog loved it Food good Bed very comfortable Wagtail Ale very nice
Bedroom 28 had a little bit of rising damp on wall Condiments bottles (ketchup) could do with a clean under the screw cap but sure new owners will see to that
This is a lovely quiet beauty spot in the middle of the Cumbrian countryside. The hotel could do with a little bit of decorating but not too loose the charm and character of the country house. Andrew and Zoe were superb helpful nothing was too much trouble they made you feel very welcome. The rest of the staff were fantastic. The meals where wonderful both the restaurant and the bar meals were excellent. We will definately go back to this hotel as it's an ideal place for walking the country hills and valleys. This is the sort of place we love and enjoy.
Maybe a different menu for the restaurant on the two nights it's open rather than the same one for both evenings.
Great location, warm welcome, very comfortable room with a distinctive style, excellent evening meal, quiet at night with a good nights sleep, really good breakfast to start next day. All this and excellent staff in all areas made us feel very much at home. We would absolutely recommend Nent Hall as aplace to stay
Nothing, everything was fine
Building Staff Food Location
Nice large room staff frindly and good food
Bar closing to early
The hotel is ideally situated for people who enjoy walking and exploring. The good welcome which we received. The fact that that our dog was made very welcome. The food was excellent. The new managers although having only been there a short time, went out of their way to make sure that we made the most of our visit. I would be more than happy to recommend this hotel to my friends. We really enjoyed our stay.
We were more than satisfied and would certainly stay there again
