Its location It was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. There was no welcoming atmosphere. Both bars were badly appointed and unfriendly. The staff were badly trained or perhaps untrained, they were unfriendly and wore very poor uniforms. The hotel is in need of major refurbishment and a completely new attitude to its management. This is all a great pity as the hotel is in a lovely area and the exterior of the building at the front is of very pleasant design.

Large 'do' on at the same time but we were put in a room away from the noise. It was very quiet and we were not disturbed. Room was clean and breakfast was fair. Staff were polite and helpful. Room clean but very dated, tired and in desperate need of refurbishment/decorating. Nothing matched. Some furniture damaged. Gap in the lino in bathroom below the window. Very disappointed. Poor value for money.

Nice atmosphere by the fire, very scottish place. The room was a bit old fashion starting from the TV and painting - this might need a little refreshment.

The staff was pleasant, welcoming and very helpful. The food was good and we enjoyed the duck pond outside! Visited during peak travel season and I felt the rates were a bit high for one night. The room was lovely, but the bed was hideous. THe room looked like it had been newly decorated and was quite nice, bathroom included. The bed however had an old duvet on it that didn't close properly at the bottom and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and appeared to be the only "old" thing in the room.

Very nice location, very friendly staff Food was not very good, orange juice at breakfast looked and tasted (one tiny sip) as though it should have been thrown out. The whole hotel looked as though it needed a thorough overhall. With money spent to brighten things up and rejuvenate the bathrooms etc. this could be a wonderful hotel. I'm sure it once was, but it looked, 'tired'. It cost over £200 for one family night B&B and I think this was far too much.

We found the hotel was ideally situated for visiting popular places and used as a base for touring the surrounding landmarks. not so much as a complaint but we did feel the hotel was a bit tired looking and could do with a general makeover.

The breakfast was good :) The rooms were absolutely freezing :( Our room was not ready and we were told to wait 10 minutes - after almost an hour I asked again and was told ...oh sorry we forgot to tell you it was ready!!

The staff were very nice and helpful. The outlook from the hotel was very nice. We would come back if I got a ground floor room. The only complaint I had was that I found the stairs hard and I had problems with the evening menu. The menu wasn't varied enough.

The location of the hotel. The hotel is, sadly, tired and run down. With sound investment and first class promotion the hotel could regain its past success.

I thought the checking in process was good and the receptionist was very kind and helpful. The four of us who stayed were working at the Lecht next day and having driven up from Edinburgh, it was nice to have a friendly face to check us in. We also had to leave before breakfast started but the night porter kindly gave us tea and toast as well as a selection at the buffet bar. I think its like a lot of big hotels from this era, its getting a bit tired. I wouldn't say I disliked it, I felt sad about it more than anything.

The peace and quiet of the hotel was very nice and we were very fortunate with the weather. The shower in the room was 1960's and was pitiful to say the least. It took several minutes for the water to warm up and even when it did you almost had to run around under it to get wet!

Room was very comfortable. I booked a single and got a very spacious twin. I got the impression the hotel caters more for organised coach tours than the individual traveller with the resturant having limited meal times (closes at 8:30pm) but nice nonetheless. The hotel is quite large and the way to the rooms could be signed better - easy to get lost which when carry luggage can be annoying. Also try and park at the front because apparently there is no way to get to the rear car park through the hotel and it can seem a long walk from the front door in the rain!

Nette Lage in kleinem örtchen. Naturpark Cairngorm in nächster Nähe. Viele Ziele (Z.B. etliche Speyside-Distilleries; Strathspey Steam Railway usw.) nur wenige Meilen entfernt. Sehr gutes schottisches Frühstück. Personal freundlich. Sehr ruhige Lage.

Mir ist nichts besonderes aufgefallen was erwähneswert wäre!

We stayed at this hotel as we were attending Thunder in the Glen in Aviemore. The hotel served our needs exceptionally well. Rooms huge, bathroon huge. Bed the most comfortable I've slept in for a while. Breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of foods.
