Location was convenient and quiet
Refurbishment of restaurant started so no hot breakfast
Location is ideal for visiting family having travelled all the way from Germany.
The room was located above the freezers, very noisy on a night. Large cobwebs above wardrobes. Sheets didn't look fresh. Will not stay here again. Have stayed here a few times but it's standards appear to have declined.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist Carol - she was extremely hospitable and made us very welcome, helped with taxis etc. The free wifi was fast and consistent. Also, handy to have the restaurant on-site with a wide selection of meals. Breakfast was well presented and nicely cooked and even though we stayed at breakfast until well past 10am we weren't made to feel rushed.
The lighting was very dim in the room. There were plenty of lamps but the wattage was quite inadequate for reading unless you were up close to the bulb. Aprat from that, all good.
The hotel was located close to Selby, it had a good restaurant and decent sized room. The bed was clean and comfortable.
The room was very shabby and the bathroom was in need of a refurbishment or a good clean, it was very off putting. The kettle was full of limescale and was not replaced even though this had been mentioned to a member of staff. The room and corridors were also freezing with only a small wall heater to heat the room and nothing to heat the bathroom. I would not stay here again, for the price I at least expect a good level of cleanliness.
The Wishing Well was quiet at night and the restaurant served reasonable food
The lighting ion our ground floor room was too dim to read.
whole area very nice
more veggie choice on the menu
Great location.Excellent food and accommodation. Very peaceful environment.
Staff was very helpful
I got a quite large room heated by a tiny radiator. It took a while to warm up and then half of the room was too hot and the other half a bit cold
Location was good for what I needed. Staff seemed friendly enough
Found the hotel to be dirty, and sticky. Expensive room didn't included breakfast Wifi really slow and kept stopping
Restaurant/bar shut for New Years Eve.
Family rooms good as plenty of space, beds very comfy.Staff good and helpful.Very easy to book on-line value for money when travelling with a young family.
The cooked breakfast was not very good, was cold and mushrooms very un-cooked just needs cooking better to make it more tasty.
Price Size of family room Excellent free parking
Noisy neighbours - to be fair hotel staff finally knocked on and put a stop to the noise. Room and bathroom looked a little tired but clean.
The friendly staff the meal deals and great real ales
Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. Good value. I stayed over christmas for 3 nights and felt very very welcome. Thank you
Good value for money in the hotel.friendly helpful staff
Unfortunately not such a good deal for Christmas dinner in restaurant. We were three adults and they sat us outside children's play area we asked for adifferent table. They refused even though there were plenty available.the dinner was cold due to stone cold plates even though there was a notice warning of hot plates and to take a napkin. I have come here for 4 years. Will think twice next year.
Room spacious and no noise through the night. King sized Beds very comfortable.
Fixed choice English breakfast I thought was a little mean for the price
Very happy with the wishing well very helpful an friendly staff
Comfortable room reasonably priced, great for an overnight business stop.
Everything was fine
Long wait to be served at the bar for food. Only 1 member of staff on to take orders for food and serve drinks at 7 pm. Steak was over cooked and tough
Super reception staff. Room really clean
The comfort and space of the rooms. The service was excellent. Staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The food was excellent.
Not being able to stay another night.
Location was good for a fast getaway. Restaurant and bar on site was handy because not close to centre of town. Lots of parking. Good breakfast.
Under the bed was a shocking accumulation of dirt, rubbish and dust (borrowed a vacuum cleaner). The room had some sort of industrial extractor outside, would have been awful without earplugs. Put the mattress on the floor, the bed looked far to flimsy for anybody largish.
Accomodation was really good value for money.Beds were comfortable and the food pretty good. Location really good for the train into York and Selby Abbey looked fantastic !!
Decided to eat later at night about 8.45 and ended up with hot meat but cold chips !! Not offered a desert and had to request one at 9.55. Staff too busy clearing up at a guess !!
Location, Continental breakfast, room
Dinner @ the pub, facilities in the room, darkness of the room
The staff was super. They made a phone call for me and printed a boarding pass for me. I am 77 years old and don't have all those I-phones, lap tops, etc.
