Just off junction 35 of the M4 freeway, this Premier Inn is in Pencoed, with free parking, family-friendly rooms with private bathrooms and an on-site Table Table restaurant.
Score from 132 reviews Excellent
The hotel was quiet and the staff were very friendly and obliging. Our breakfast was freshly cooked and of excellent quality. I liked the touch of white table cloths and white cotton napkins. Also the views from the hotel are amazing.
Even with sat nav we had a little difficulty in finding the hotel. Perhaps a larger sign would help. ( if permissible )
the food ; service was excellent; room lovely
the mattress has seen better days as had the shower
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL AND VIEWS.. Comfortable rooms and everything you would need.
I went to relax and I was put in room nine next to the marquee so at seven p.m until gone midnight I listened to loud music coming from the wedding party. DID complain but never had a reply or an apology.
The view from the hotel across the whole of Cardiff is wonderful, especially at night. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful and efficient. My sister is vegan and the chef catered for her very well - quite unusual in restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious with good bathrooms - just wish the weather had been better so we could use the small patio area.
The food in the restaurant was average, quite expensive for the size of portion. Suited me, didn't suit the men in our party.
Helpful staff, warm , comfortable rooms with full facilities.
Great reception staff. Excellent breakfast . Very comfortable room.
Restaurant closed on Sunday evening . But time of year I guess.
Excellent view from hill top Staff attentive to problem quickly Good breakfast made to order
Wifi not working priperly Need a clearer warning to travel to hotel from motorway as G P S can lead to a dangerous narrow windy road
Booked as a late xmas treat, the rate was excellent, the check in was fast and easy, staff very helpful throughout our stay, the room was spacious and the 4 poster bed was lovely, a great nights sleep. the grounds are lovely and the views gorgeous. the gym was clean and tidy and really added to our stay. the restaurant staff were helpful and friendly. over all we had a lovely time.....
the free wifi was poor.
Grand hotel set in the stunning hills not far from Cardiff. Well appointed fabulous room with a huge comfy bed. Helpful & friendly staff. Shall definitely stay again.
Liked the room with great view and comfortable beds. Food was great. A lovely place to stay BUT
Don't use a satnav to get there. The postcode takes you to the middle of the M4. A journey that should take 5 minutes from the motorway took an hour. Needed that lovely meal by the time we arrived
Location and relaxing atmosphere
Trying to get there Please in future make it VERY obvious on the booking form that the postal address is different from the satnav address - not half way down the page in small writing!! It took us an hour extra to find the hotel when my daughter age 12 was supposed to be having an early night before a swimming race. Very upsetting
Everybody was so friendly. Staff were excellent. Food was great value for money. Excellent access to city centre and millennium stadium.
Everything was great
Views of Cardiff. Good breakfast. The hotel has many character features.
room very warm, no air conditioning.
Engaging staff and pleasant surroundings. Not as bothered by the ubiquitous wedding party as we had anticipated
Slightly overpriced- we paid 150.00 for b and b. To be honest, the facilities and location and facilities did not justify the costs, would have thought 100.00 more appropriate
Great location Fantastic food
The bathroom stank of damp and mildew. The shaver socket was not running at full power. The breakfast was poor. Not at all recommendable. Far too expensive for the poorest of hotels.
Location, the room was large and the bed comfortable. Warm and clean room.
Staff were very helpful they allowed us a late check out so my husband could come back to the hotel for a shower after running the recent Cardiff 1/2 Marathon. The hotel is in a quiet but convenient location and the view is beautifull.
We can always rely on this hotel for good service, food and a great room
Barman and waiter were very helpful Room had good view Food was good, (had a bar snack) Manager got back to me promptly about the 'flood in the bathroom
A lot of water appeared on my bathroom floor while I was out of the room. This would have been really serious if I,d gone in there during the night. I suggested leaving the towels down as I thought this safer. The new Receptionist (next day) hadn't been told about this but she did tell the manager, who emailed me
The food was very good and what staff there was were competent and polite. Unfortunately, the hotel does not employ enough people and those that work there are run ragged.
The hotel is geared towards events such as weddings and business meetings. I'm sure they do a great job for these, but the individual holiday maker is definitely a second- class citizen here. We complained to the management and they basically said "tough!" There is not enough staff to service everyone and so individual travelers are left to wait until the weddings and business meetings are taken care of first.
We loved the location and the size of the room and bathroom. Lovely homely, country atmosphere.
I rang to check about a top I had left there, and nobody got back to me about it.
Room - very comfortable, spacious and clean. Evening meal in restaurant very good too.
Room service breakfast!! £10.75 plus £2 for bringing to room VERY poor value for money and luke warm tea, cold plate and hence luke warm food. No chance to order fruit instead of cereal and no toast even! For that price I had fruit juice and cooked breakfast and undrinkable tea. Should have mentioned at time but was leaving very early and was late - hence no time to eat in dining room. Should cost LESS in room not more! WIFI dreadful - had to give even my mobile no and agree to be hounded by them to get access and had to then keep logging in!!!
The views from the hotel were great. Had a lovely big room with balcony. Great customer service particularly from Paul. The afternoon tea was great and dinner in the restaurant was also of a high standard.
If I'm being really picky... The noise from the wedding in the marquee at night but it didn't spoil our stay.
