Very attentive and warm welcome. Lovely room with an excellent bed, a very nice bathroom (an actual bath) and a digital bedside radio! Very good breakfast, a nice old pub with real beer, and good food in the restaurant. (Try the cockle and potato broth, with spinach and laverbread, starter).
Didn't hate anything. It is a bit remote, (but then you might like that) and I suppose there could be noise problems over the pub, but nothing that bothered me.
A real pub. Really nice food, the best burger we have ever had! Smoked salmon was gorgeous and nice wine too. A lovely big room with character. Lovely village location, would definitely stay again.
You could hear people upstairs but you have to accept it is an old building with wooden floors. Whilst the staff are nice they don't seem really happy or seem to be a happily led team, shame.
As evaluated above
i love the fact that it have old fashioned design of British Architecture. It is surrounded with surreal beautiful area if you pay a walk around the village. The staff was really easy going, cheerful and approachable. The breakfast is quite decent, but we dont mind cause we love omelette and its salmon. maybe we are not so choosy when it comes to food. The room is clean, toilet is awesome.
The wifi is terrible, good reception only at the lobby. Since this is our honeymoon, we are fine with it. The TV channel's choice also below than moderate. the only thing that is not clean, is the kettle.
lovely room, good service and good food. Maps of walks would have been good.
rooms a little overheated. think the heating was on all night and would have preferred for it to be turned off for a bit. its a shame there wasn't a real fire and they were all gas.
Good value, clean, helpful staff and a good internet connection, all set in a beautiful location.
The shower area needed a little TLC, cracked tiling.
beautiful building, lovely room and stunning view. the breakfast was top notch. freshly baked croissants, lovely cooked breakie with proper mushroom (not nasty canned ones), great coffee. genuinely impressed with this place and would recommend and stay here again myself
nothing i can think of. gave good re facilities as all basics covered rather than extras eg spa. but that is certainly not a critisism! just as comparison to larger places who may offer more
Loved the whole experience and set up, super team, staff, food and location!
Food was excellent, ate here for lunch had a superb burger, for evening meal had the best pork I have ever had in a restaurant. Cooked breakfast very good loved the eggs free range without doubt. Very Comfy bed slept very well.
Wifi signal in room was a bit hit and miss but building built from Cotswold stone with very thick walls so not totally surprised at that.
Lovely quiet room and enjoyable breakfast
Bathroom needs updating. Loose toilet roll holder, and loose loo seat.
Excellent place for short break, bed was very comfortable, and the wet room was brand new
Great room, good layout. Excellent value for money. Delicious supper and very nice house fizz.
I was a female staying in a twin room with my son. My son carried his bag your attendant did not offer to carry mine - huge minus - indicated a lack of good manners and consideration. Whilst I was able to carry my own I was hugely disappointed with lack of thought.
Good food ,friendly staff and easy to find .
The bed was very uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well because of this.
Food, bedrooms, service
We were only staying one night...
Everything. I arrived late, 9.30 pm and was checked into a lovely warm comfortable room with a fantastic bed. went downstairs and had a pint. Was introduced to Plum Brand from the Lot which was delicious and I shall be asking Jacque my tame Corsican living in the Lot why I had not had it before. Slept like a king so comfortable. Woke had a lovely breakfast. Every interaction with the staff was charming.
I did not have my wife with me and I arrived already having eaten. I shall remedy both those errors on my part. The menu for dinner was delirious just to read.
Amazing location - right near quaint Bibury Authentic feel Roaring fireplaces Amazing food at the restaurant Great breakfast included!!
Nothing - everything was great! Highly recommend!
The size of rooms were excellent. We had an evening meal which was very good and overall we would definatly stay again.
We had a very soft bed which unfortunatley we dont like. Breakfast let the stay down just wasnt very good but friendly staff.
10/10 Couldn't fault anything. We dined on the £9.99 special, which was belly pork. A delicious meal and a complimentary cheeseboard for residents.
very good breakfast using quality ingredients. We had two meals from the dinner menu and they to were very good especially the spit roast belly pork.
we didn't like the lighting in the room as it was far to bright as you had to use the main light above the bed in order to read at night as there was only one bedside lamp. Also the lock on the door was worn and took a lot of messing with in order to lock the door.
Set in picturesque location
For £100 is wasn't worth it at all. The wifi didn't work in the room meaning I couldn't do my emails as there's no phone signal there either. The bath was dirty with little hot water and the breakfast was delayed with cold coffee. We had a 6oz steak the night before which was cooked well but it was nowhere near the amount of meat advertised
not good value for money
Room was quiet and comfortable. Scrambled eggs were nice. Only a few minutes drive to Bibury.
No cellular reception. Service at breakfast was slow. Buffet table was almost empty at 09:50. Took a long time to produce toast.
Food was great. Good location.
Our room (room 1) was noisy, kitchen air conditioning blower on the roof was on and off all night.
Accommodation and location excellent
Disappointing breakfast coffee cold, buffet choice was restricted. Cooked breakfast small portions
Bed was very comfy Loved how cosy the room was Staff were friendly and left you to get on with things
Wifi connection was poor - you couldn't pick anything up in the bedroom which was a bit annoying
