Very clean, with good food and friendly staff.
The location was very poor. Extremely remote, dark narrow lanes with no walking opportunities in the evening, and frankly nowhere to go! Narrow, unlit roads, and not particularly scenic by day.
The room was very clean, we had an amazing view on the garden. Very peaceful and calm! The staff was very king and we had a nice breakfast served by the chef himself!
Everything was far and away better than I could have hoped to expect It has recently been done up to a very high standard by an excellent team
There was nothing bad Genuinely couldn't fault it at all
No Climate control as was hot.
On arrival, check in was a doddle. I was shown to my room and my bags carried for me. The room looked new, was spotlessly clean, modern and inviting. The bed was comfy, spacious and had a massive duvet! (Great if you are 6ft+ like me). Very quiet location so perfect nights sleep. The three members of staff were polite, friendly, helpful and professional. They spoke to me with genuine interest not because they were paid to. Dinner was absolutely delicious, service was spot on. Breakfast was run by the chef who had it all in hand, super full English. I would definitely recommend the new inn to anyone.
The lovely restaurant
Food good ,but more locally sourced produce would be welcome , mussels for Shetland ???
Very poor nights sleep due to being given a room above the public bar ! Ruined our Sunday walking. Told getting room insulated ,not of much help to us !
The food was great.
Bed so comfortable Towels so thick and fluffy ensuite large ,breakfast yummy ,
Thought could have been middle of the road price for menue and maybe more simple pasta dishes and less chips .
Our room was lovely with an extra large bed. The shower was equally large, very efficient and easy to use. Dinner was excellent and the service attentive but not intrusive. All of this in a pretty village with glorious country views around. Highly recommend.
There was an outside wooden staircase up to our room, but it wasn't too much of a problem.
There was nothing to dislike
Attentive staff......superb food.....relaxed atmosphere......
No wifi in rooms just in lobby.
The location is great for travelling around to various scenic locations in the county, the food was brilliant and the staff made you feel extremely welcome. The accomodation was comfortable, clean and beutifuuly decorated I cannot recommend highly enough.
The quality of fittings and furnishings in our room, the friendly, attentive staff who made us feel very welcome, the excellent a la carte menu which allowed us to eat in on 4 consecutive nights with plenty of choice.
Non-slip mats in the shower would be a good idea for more mature guests.
Staff friendly. Food was excellent, quality & portion size. It would be good to know if breakfast, (bacon eggs sausage) was locally sourced. Bar very good & reasonable prices. Location good for drives / visiting coast from Swanage to Lyme Regis.
WI-FI in the room kept fading & had to be reset. Statement in room info book that card will be billed for any toiletries removed. Subsequently half empty containers left behind. We do not 'strip' the bottles & sachets but at these prices expect to be able to take away unfinished containers - perhaps the wording could be more gentle. Young waiting staff need more 'consistency' training.
Food quality, quantity and variety. Some of the bedroom facilities...particularly the bathroom. Carpark and garden large, flat and easily accessed
Insufficient signage on the way to the inn...could have missed it. No reception..only bar staff. No groundfloor rooms , so anyone with severe disability could not be accepted.no information at inn about surrounding area or about the history of the inn. Older rooms lacked powerpoints and only one bedside table.
Room and surroundings as a whole
Rather remote location
The inn had been refurbished and the rooms were less than a year old and this was evident in the freshness of the finish. The rooms were accessed from the courtyard and up a wide staircase. The bed was two singles pushed together but made up to be a comfortable king size. The bedding and the large towels were fresh and clean. There was a good supply of teabags, coffee and chocolate in the room with mugs and a kettle. We had a garden view from our window which, although including the car park, gave extensive countryside views. The ensuite consisted of a good size walk-in shower and the usual facilities. Hot water came through after a brief wait. The room was peaceful at night once the car park had cleared. We had a very good evening meal and breakfast was also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
Could not connect to the wifi even though the pass codes were provided and 3g was a bit variable on 'ee'.
very clean Inn, very clean room. Food was excellent. Sleep was un interrupted. Staff pleasant. Price great
Shower didn't work properly, but forgot to mention to staff. Only stayed one night, so would have asked for it to be fixed otherwise.
Clean and comfortable accommodation with an excellent restaurant. Nice characterful, compact pub/b&b with hotel standard of accommodation situated in a quiet & attractive Dorset village.
Wi fi a bit hit and miss.
Booked last minute in August as we fancied a few nights in Dorset. Wasn't sure what to expect but was really pleasantly surprised. Great breakfast, great food and ambience and good accommodation. Price was very reasonable also. Visited Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Portland - had a great few days!
The room was very clean and spacious. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
Lovely room. Clean, well managed. Menu to look over food and prices. We were shown to our room personally.
Food was good, although on the pricey side. Service both for evening and breakfast was consistently poor. No or late check backs including being asked if we were happy with our room. We therefore didn't stay for dinner the second night and avoided the cold beans of the full breakfast the second morning.
welcoming staff and lovely surroundings with bedrooms clean and comfortable
wi-Fi hopeless and Tv instructions not clear.
