Room and surroundings as a whole
Rather remote location
The inn had been refurbished and the rooms were less than a year old and this was evident in the freshness of the finish. The rooms were accessed from the courtyard and up a wide staircase. The bed was two singles pushed together but made up to be a comfortable king size. The bedding and the large towels were fresh and clean. There was a good supply of teabags, coffee and chocolate in the room with mugs and a kettle. We had a garden view from our window which, although including the car park, gave extensive countryside views. The ensuite consisted of a good size walk-in shower and the usual facilities. Hot water came through after a brief wait. The room was peaceful at night once the car park had cleared. We had a very good evening meal and breakfast was also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
Could not connect to the wifi even though the pass codes were provided and 3g was a bit variable on 'ee'.
Clean and comfortable accommodation with an excellent restaurant. Nice characterful, compact pub/b&b with hotel standard of accommodation situated in a quiet & attractive Dorset village.
Wi fi a bit hit and miss.
The room was very clean and spacious. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
Apart from a minor mix up at check in, which was swiftly rectified. Our stay was excellent, staff very friendly, plenty of free on site parking, rooms were spotless and breakfast was superbly cooked to order. We would definitely recommend staying at the New Inn.
amazing room, bed, toilette en suite.
even if it's written that the wifi works everywhere in the building, it does not work in the room. whan said to the guest, she answer: we're in a village, things are like they are....
We wanted somewhere welcoming and comfortable and near to Lulworth Cove. This was perfect in every way- Thankyou
Excellent service with clean and comfortable rooms. The restaurant in New Inn is absolutely amazing, probably one of the best in Dorset.
Its location is a bit far from everywhere, which is very inconvenient for those without own cars. However, if you are driving, New Inn is highly recommended.
Room fresh ,well equiped ,comfortable and clean,. The evening meal was well cooked with good quality ingredients, albeit a little expensive for the locality. An excellent breakfast. was provided
For our evening meal we were sat at a table alongside a large group (20 +) , despite other quieter tabled being available , this detracted from our intention to have a quiete evening meal. The bedroom window was overlooked from the street /car park . There were no nets / blinds only heavy cutains which if you wanted some privacy blocked out all the daylight
Sitting in beer garden drinking draught cider ,watching the combines working in nearby fields. My perfect English summer
very friendly place and child friendly, great food, up to date decor, very clean, loads of parking, quiet rooms if you want to chill out, nice atmosphere local bar if you fancy a chat. love it
Really nice rooms, lovely bathroom with big shower, beautiful country pub, was a shame we couldn't of eaten there as the menu looked delicious! Breakfast was very good the next morning.
Staff a bit off hand Shower not v hot Wi-fi in room v poor Noisy customers
Room very bright clean and inviting with a huge comfortable bed. All the staff very pleasant and accommodating. Although I did not eat in the restaurant for an evening meal the smells coming from the kitchens were very tempting and by the amount of costumers dining in both the bar and restaurant it is a very popular dining hole! The seating area between the bar and the restaurant was a very nice place to sit whilst having to use the Wi-Fi downstairs with comfy leather sofas and chairs. The approach to the Inn is both tidy and pleasant with all the out buildings smartly up-kept and the flowering plants pretty and seasonal. The car park is large and well mantained. This. This is the first time I have visited this Inn but will certainly do so again when next in the area. I can thoroughly recommend the New Inn
My only down comment would be the lack of wi-fi in the rooms, with contacts needing to be made during the early hours (due to time differences) this proved an impossible task. I understand that this problem is not one that the New Inn can rectify without a broadband provider stepping up to the mark and providing better coverage. I look forward to seeing if things have improved on my next visit.
Location, staff friendliness, rooms with views, food- everything great.
Quiet location in beautiful village Very good restaurant
Air con unit outside bedroom was loud at night
pub restaurant food country air and ambiance
a bit far from The Tank Museum poor WiFi reception in room
Good breakfast Cheerful helpful staff
Felt the description of former 16th Century Coaching Inn suggested to me traditional environment. However it was over renovated with very neat but soulless interor Bedroom decor too modern for setting Carvery layout and furnishings coupled with moderately high prices dissuaded us from dining in Noisy in room from bar below
Staff were very welcoming. Foods was lovely Great value for money
Nice room with comfortable bed and sofa. Good linens and plenty of tea and coffee. Nice quiet village location. Good food and drinks with reasonable prices. Advise book table in advance for evening meal to avoid delays.Staff friendly and welcoming.
"Specials menu" didn't seem to change. The lamb was very tough and gristly one evening. I reported this to the waiter but got no reply from the kitchens. Otherwise food good. Bathroom rather cramped and lacking in shelving - filled by shower. Bath requested but apparently not available.
Would definitely visit again. Quiet, great food and rooms, friendly staff. Extremely good value for money.
They were nice and extremely friendly the room was lovely and clean
Good food staff was helpfull ask whot you was doing that day how was the day when you come back
The Location The furniture
Shower was too poor to wash hair No reception, when bar isn`t open, you can not arrive or leave You have to come to breakfast on a fixed time in the first morning the cook wasn`t there until 9 o`clock and when he arrived he had forgotten the key for the building all guests and servants were sitting and waiting in the Yard in the first morning no fresh fruits or other extras with the breakfast
