Score from 62 reviews Very good
Love the location, friendliness and relaxed approach. Linen and towels were clean and comfortable. Rooms were clean and decor clean and fresh. A Hotel with an enormous amount of potential and I wish them all the best.
The main hotel could do with updating mainly the bar and dinning room. Breakfast was varied but the cooked breakfast was overly greasy and there was a hair in the grapefruit.
The room was basic but clean and comfortable, extremely good value. Breakfast was 1st class. We are going back in a couple of weeks for another 1 night stopover.
Comfortable room with a decent shower
Limited range of newspapers in breakfast room
Location and price
In need of a vacuum
Breakfast very good if a bit early. plenty of parking. Manager very helpful.
Bathroom clean but room generally very dusty - carpets need cleaning. Tea bags sugar and milk not replenished.
FRONTBEDROOMS NOISEY FROM TRAFFIC THE VACUUM NEEDS TO BE USED ONSTAIRS AND AROUND RECEPTION THAT WOULD MAKE THE STAY MORE WELCOMING
Close proximity to town centre and surrounding areas. Comfortable and clean bed. Reasonable pub food. Breakfast good. Staff friendly.
Cleanliness of room was not good. Cobwebs obscured view from window and were on bedside light, ceiling and in shower. Waste bin had not been emptied from previous guests. Walls and wallpaper appeared very grubby - in dire need of re decoration! Window didn't open.
location comfort of bed and pillows refreshment facilities in room inclusive of good full English breakfast reasonable price size of bathroom and bath/shower
size of room (small) size of bed (small) rather dusty and stained carpet in places height of connecting doors and passageways to room (we are tall people!)
Friendly staff, comfortable room and pleasant bar with good food
food excellent value for money in bar. Staff very helpful.
The location. The setting by the river. The good quality and inexpensive food.
Hot water temperature was too low. No hot water available at one time
The cleanliness was second to none and the food breakfast was first class
Right on the Thames, just walk out the back to sit on the banks and feed the swans. Staff were very helpful and went to great lengths to please. The hotel is a few hundred years old with a lot of interesting history. Plenty of car parking space.
The rooms are undeniably tired but are clean. Personally I think the location and quirkiness wins the day.
nice historic building, however rooms, décor, and bathroom all need serious updating and money spent on them.
Breakfast and shower
Room and furniture was dingy and unkempt. Notified refurbishments were poorly executed.
Clean room Friendly staff Good English breakfast Attached pub has good food at reasonable price Attractive village with nearby 15th c. church
Carpets were showing signs of wear
Dirty, smells, moths everywhere, sticky banistairs. The lis is endless. At Breakfast I heard one woman say to another guest, while waiting for a Tea Cuo for her Tea, Have you seen "Faulty Towers". I would rather chance it with Basil!!
Excellent location backing on to the river Thames in very pleasant small town with all the facilities one would want on a short break including choice of restaurants and pubs. Good wifi and breakfast. Ate in one night and food very good at fair price.
Old building without a lift so top floor not for the elderly or very unfit but offer was made to carry bag up to room. As I like my tea in the mornings I found the use of tea bags each time I wanted a fresh cuppa to be a little tedious.
Bar area with value for money meals.
Room was a bit too basic, other than that was fine.
A nice old building converted to an ensuite hotel. Good staff and good food for breakfast and evening meals in the pub / restaurant. Relaxing and enjoyable to wander down through the car park and across the grass to feed swans on the River Thames. Great location for day trips in all directions.
In need of refurbishment or at least a decorative tidy up.
Staff very helpful and friendly Very tasty breakfast
Furniture in bedroom very basic and not comfortable
Lovely location, friendly staff and clean. Dinner and breakfast both good. Overall, good value for money
Decor is tired, but in all fairness, this is reflected in the price. Overall good value for money
Friendly, traditional operation, sense of authentic individuality
Restaurant service slow
Value for money. Location on the Thames. Old fashioned room with sash windows and shutters. Good breakfast. Not too big.
Outdated and poorly Furnished bedroom
