lovely hotel nice staff. great food. lovely area. if you have a dog and like walking by the river i would recommend this hotel
Friendly staff, easy going atmosphere, beds and bathroom clean
Rooms need a good lick of paint, updated furniture and a bit of colour!
Location Room was very clean with good linen - shower had excellent pressure. Lovely old building but stairs difficult with large bags
Entrance to the hotel was extremely dirty, especially carpets and reception area, and smell from kitchen not very appetising. Hotel staff very casually dressed
Breakfast & the one evening meal was excellent. Even though you had no treacle pudding & custard left on the Thursday evening, lol !
The only little issue was that our room had a lot of stairs, as it was at the top. Maybe we should have mentioned that one of us had mobility problems, I.e. Joint/ walking. So we could have had a room on the ground floor if possible ?
Strong hot shower and comfy beds. Substantial breakfast. Pleasant staff. Parking. Space for the dog to have a run. The main part is an interesting old building.
The rooms were a bit shabby, a bit like a 1960s motel (but with modern beds). A bit on the edge of the Cotswolds rather than right In amongst it all.
The character of the building
there was no heating on although the weather was cold and wet. The bar was unattractive and its staff were not welcoming The selection of cereals and fruit was poor and the presentation was unattractive Wrapped butters and cheap jam and marmalade in plastic containers gave the impression that economy was more important than quality Coffee not hot Cooked breakfast on day one was very good. On day two it was not cooked properly and was not hot. The sheets were showing signs of wear and were marked. One of the towels on day two had dirty marks on it.
We loved the riverside location which had plenty of places to eat. The staff were extremely friendly. The room itself was large and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Being given room 1 with the four poster was a bonus. We walked to the oldest inn, The Trout, which was well worth it. For the price we would certainly use them again.
The room and bathroom were tired. Peeling wallpaper and a damp patch above the wardrobe.
Location was excellent for the event I was attending. Room was clean and of good size.
Bathroom was rather small and although internal had no extractor fan.
location was good staff were friendly
beds not comfortable lots of noise from the bar and road lots of steep stairs
Location was central to Lechlade with a variety of places to eat within 2 mins walk. The hotel food was good, breakfast excellent-hot and quick service. Parking was convenient. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel entrance for residents meant one did not need to walk through the crowded bar area. Room and ensuite was clean and no noise from the bar area.
Room was very small with no comfortable chair to use. As my room was at the top of the building there were several flights of stairs.
Pleasant staff Excellent location Decent breakfast for the category Parking on site
Room a little to functional Room lock difficult to use Broken light shade in the bathroom Main light not working Blinds too thin Noise from other guests leaving early
Very friendly helpful staff
Rather basic, other than basic tea bags and coffee there was no de cafe, only one cup between 2 which was dirty. Room didn't feel that clean. The breakfast wasn't healthy no fruit or yougart no heathy cerial other than weetabex , food rather grecey mood for workman but not a heathy walker
The scenery and village was very picturesque with history and heritage well preserved. The Inn restoration of the old stables provided good ground level accommodation for those not able to negotiate the narrow and steep stairs that not common in Australia.
The local fish and chip shop down the road serves poor quality fish and chips. For the Inn the Shower over the bath is hazardous, when space is available they may consider installing a separate shower and bath.
Good value food Space to lock away my bike at night Friendly but not intrusive staff.
Location for Oxford and the Cotswolds. Friendly staff. Quite good breakfasts. Good and clean room. Grounds down to the river. Nice walks nearby along the riverbank. Good bar. Quite good for parking.
A little noisy late at night. Needs some refurbishment.
Rooms were cold and smelt damp. They were definitely overdue a complete revamp
Lovely setting and friendly welcome
The room was small and a little cold
The pub grub
The size of the shower
Our room was in converted stables which added charm to the Coaching Inn setting. The host was friendly and allowed us to park our bikes at his parent`s house. The breakfast was excellent (full English) but we liked the atmosphere in the bar at night best as well as the bar meal which was a homemade curry. Every one in town seemed to be there. The room was warm and there was a friendly hubbub and no loud music.
Breakfast was very good -quiet room at back -staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel pretty shabby and worn - some rooms need serious upgrading - bedside tables etc with peeling laminate. Cobwebs on ceiling -not properly cleaned. No shower in first room we were shown
This hotel is in a great location in a very picturesque village
The hotel is rundown and lacking in investment. To call the room basic would be overstating (there was a hole in the ceiling). Breakfast was adequate. Very disappointed
The staff and chef were fantastic.
The beds were uncomfortable and rooms and linen were musty.
All the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. We liked the relaxed atmosphere in and around the property.
Property is looking a bit tired could do with refreshing.Beautiful old building right in centre if delightful small town. A good coat of paint and some new carpets would make a huge difference
The service was excellent, accommodation was good, and the breakfast excellent.
The room was very dated and shabby with broken fittings. The breakfast was greasy and basic
