It's a hell hole. Don't go there. I wouldnt leave my dg there.
Good food - was raining so I didn't want to wander far, was pleasantly surprised Room was well heated and bed very comfortable and good inclusive in price breakfast. Right in the centre of the town, good location.
barman very friendly
owner very rude cobwebs n dirt in room
Car Parking Price Friendly Shower was excellent
A bit tired Cold
Its a very old building, been adapted over many years, so enjoy the eccentricities. A good evening meal in the bar.
Staff were very friendly and amazingly helpful! The room was perfect and the hotel was in the heart of Lechlade. We loved it and cant wait to go back!
Nothing at all
Quite quirky in it's layout. The bathroom was modern. In a nice location in the market square with plenty of pubs and places to eat and oy a 20 minute drive to Cirencester. Good breakfast.
The bed was rather hard and the decor a little tired.
location, historic background, by the river, being able to have my dog with me, friendly breakfast lady
The room was not particularly cleen. The room need some tlc. Decorative detail needs updating and sensitivity. Gardens could be so nice but a bit of a dump. artificial flowers. No braekfast menu or board. It all was a bit tired and lost its identity.
Location great, breakfast nice room, good value very clean.
Motor/pump running all night, sounded like floor below unable to get good sleep shame because everything else was perfect.
I booked in a hurry then saw some negative reviews, and arrived fearing the worst. I was pleasantly surprised and had no complaints at all. Pub food in evening was really lovely, and so was breakfast. Staff very friendly. A good 'old fashioned' pub
No complaints whatsoever
The Staff, the food the place all excellent
The room was cold because the rad's weren't working. The electric fire surplied by the management helped!
Friendly initial greeting. Changed allocated room as expressed preference for a shower instead of a bath. Room comfortable and clean. Had a really good night's sleep in a lovely king size bed. Breakfast - plenty of choice and cooked to order.
All the stairs, especially the quirky angles. Not keen on stairs at any time but think these would prove challenging to anyone less than mobile or someone with heavy or big bags. Also felt a little rushed to pay and was a little put out when the receptionist seemed reluctant to take my cheque instead of a debit card payment.
Old building full of character, quirky layout with stairs going all directions, exposed beams, nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. Staff were brilliant and welcoming; despite my late arrival they still fed me. Good location and car park, good value accommodation and reasonable bar prices. Would stay again if in the area.
Needs a little redecoration in some areas (kitchen refurb was going on while I was there but this was not a problem). Would have liked to be able to open my bedroom window!
Nice old building. Character and unique. if want new and modern don't go here.
Open fire in room drafts
Staff - friendly and helpful
Limited menu for dinner
The hotel was very good value at £65 for the night inc breakfast for two people. The hotel is very tired & needs a refurb but I would happily stay there again as I enjoyed my time there.
Hotel is quite tired & needs a refurb
Friendly staff, great breakfast tailored to every individuals wishes. Lots of colourful characters around.
Stairway smelt damp.
Breakfast and friendly staff
Poor attention to cleaning in bedroom and bathroom. Uneven floor, possibly holes under carpet. Poor signage re hidden stairs. Poor staff support during fire alarm in the middle of the night.
lovely hotel nice staff. great food. lovely area. if you have a dog and like walking by the river i would recommend this hotel
Friendly staff, easy going atmosphere, beds and bathroom clean
Rooms need a good lick of paint, updated furniture and a bit of colour!
Location Room was very clean with good linen - shower had excellent pressure. Lovely old building but stairs difficult with large bags
Entrance to the hotel was extremely dirty, especially carpets and reception area, and smell from kitchen not very appetising. Hotel staff very casually dressed
Breakfast & the one evening meal was excellent. Even though you had no treacle pudding & custard left on the Thursday evening, lol !
The only little issue was that our room had a lot of stairs, as it was at the top. Maybe we should have mentioned that one of us had mobility problems, I.e. Joint/ walking. So we could have had a room on the ground floor if possible ?
Strong hot shower and comfy beds. Substantial breakfast. Pleasant staff. Parking. Space for the dog to have a run. The main part is an interesting old building.
The rooms were a bit shabby, a bit like a 1960s motel (but with modern beds). A bit on the edge of the Cotswolds rather than right In amongst it all.
The character of the building
there was no heating on although the weather was cold and wet. The bar was unattractive and its staff were not welcoming The selection of cereals and fruit was poor and the presentation was unattractive Wrapped butters and cheap jam and marmalade in plastic containers gave the impression that economy was more important than quality Coffee not hot Cooked breakfast on day one was very good. On day two it was not cooked properly and was not hot. The sheets were showing signs of wear and were marked. One of the towels on day two had dirty marks on it.
