The preserved site was fascinating. It was very interesting to learn about Robert Owen and his ideas for harmony in society. He was a real visionary. We liked seeing the remaining old machines, water wheel etc as well as the model school. Our accommodation in a 'Waterhouse' was excellent.

Whilst away, I like to keep in touch with family and with current news from home (international). I normally do this via the internet. WiFi was not available in our accommodation and was very slow and unreliable in the main building.

A mix up with room service was dealt with in such a way as to enhance our view of the hotel and our stay there.

    Luxury of space

The only thing that was a problem was slow drain in the ensure shower room, but ok since we could use the other bathroom - I did report this on departure, so hope it has been fixed

Views and location. Hotel being in an old mill building.

Plastic sheets on mattresses made it impossible to sleep. Baby swimming classes in the pool when we were trying to use it made it difficult to use any of the facilities.

Great location, good rooms and tasty meals

Staff at breakfast could be better trained, all very helpful but the cooked breakfast arrived while we were still eating the first course, the signature for the extra cost could have waited until we had finished our meal, not thrust across the table while we were still eating.

The atmosphere of the old mill is wonderful. Its design keeps the old mill effect.

What a fantastic night we had. Our room was perfect. We had dinner there with friends and my wife and I have many allergies. They gave us all what we ordered adjusted as necessary. If we are in the area again, we will be back. Thanks for a great night. P and M. Australia.

Leisure complex was good. overall the hotel is nice and clean. Staff need trained better how to accomodate clients.

When checking in, advised to book dinner early, as there was a coach party due in.Had dinner in an empty restaurant and another couple placed right next to our table!! They asked not to be placed next to us, but they were anyway. We didn't realise you could eat in the bar, with a better menu, which would've suited us better. Menu was at best sparse and expensive for what there was. Breakfast was a joke, two staff took our orders, took ages to come. Had to keep asking for a cup for coffee and coffee, very unprofessional. Other guests were having similar problems. We did read all the reviews for this hotel, which were good, I think we just hit a bad day. Wouldn't recommend it after our stay there. For the price we paid, we would've expected papers in the lounge for guests and in the rooms toiletries to be available. Having to pay for water at the leisure centre is a nonsense. Most other hotels with leisure facilities provide these free of charge.Sorry New Lanark Mill Hotel, you didnt hit the mark on our stay

Welcome on arrival. Helpful staff. Good food. Greaat situation.

No outside lights when there was a fire alarm. This could have been quite frightening for little ones at the hotel. No apparent organisation during the alarm.
