1 min walk to our friends wedding, and a lovely walk to the waterfalls
-very cheap -public bus transfer exactly in front of the hostel from the train station (one every hour),very convenient -really close to the falls -an excellent place for overnight stay -stunning views and surroundings
Located in a world heritage site. Peaceful location. Nice woodland walk next to it.
Bit too quiet for me, have been travelling around the world and used to busier hostels for meeting people. It was out of season though so might be busier in high season.
I was late arriving, but I still got in. the manager was ready for me and for that I am very grateful indeed.
Nice clean quiet room. Cooking facilities. Clean and well equipped. Friendly staff and residents. Beautiful setting. Handy for public transport.
Apparently changing hands next year, hope it's not for the worse.
Being able to use the swimming pool at the hotel next door for £5. The Youth Hostel staff were very friendly. The breakfast they provided for my friend was bread rolls, slices of ham and cheese and tomatoes, a generous portion. The room was warm, it had a separate loo and shower. Being able to cook my own breakfast.
The museum next door wouldn't let me pay to just look at their roof garden, I'd have had to pay for the whole "New Lanark Experience". Being on a diet, I went into the sweet shop at the museum, it would have been better for my diet if the sweets hadn't looked so appetising!
The Lanark village is really worthy to visit and this hostel is a very good way to make a halt there. Very quiet place and good service.
Fantastic location in the middle of world heritage site. Really friendly, caring and helpful staff. Decent beds and shower for a hostel. Plenty of parking space.
Expensive internet. Free wifi should be standard.
cooking area can make it bigger
Location, Breakfast, Reception Staff, good value for money. Able to control spending by cooking for yourself
Flat pillows, shower (blocked head and drainage problems, I don't understand why the door stop needs to be right where you put your feet when using the WC Sat Nav sent us on a merry dance so some instructions and better signage would be useful
Frendly staff very helpfull facilities much better than I imagined ! My family and I had travelled from south Yorkshire for friends party and needed a comfortable night's sleep before heading back the next day this fit the bill perfectly. It was clean the location is beautiful and VERY cost effective. Thank you
Stunning location with lovely walks.
Being a YH I was prepared for it to be less than glamorous, however it was worse! Room was disgusting, with a rusted wall heater, carpets that didnt fit and just 1 small window at floor level! Bathroom was clean however, would def not recommend this place to my worst enemy!
Lovely town, nice walks, very friendly staff, interesting history lesson if you do the tour
Wifi was far too expensive, especially since building is located in town where theres practically no GSM coverage anywhere
Very friendly and helpful staff Price - £33 per person per night during Commonwealth Games was excellent Very pretty location Very accessible from NW England TV lounge
No side lights or lights over beds meant all HAD to go to sleep at same time!
The location is fantastic. Falls of Clyde a short walk away. Amazing scenery. Hostel it self is great, friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Lovely and helpful girls on reception. The pictures on website doesn't do it justice. Would highly recommend this hostel. I was travelling with 3 children and this hostel and surrounding area was a fantastic choice. Local cab firm lanark cars v helpful too.
Friendly staff, interesting location
Not being able to open window. Really hot at night. No fan in shower so got really humid. Had to prop door open. Seemed expensive.
The location is peaceful and set in majestic old mill buildings
The family room that we were in only had a small window near the floor and it did not open. There was no ventilation unless you opened the door to the room. There was a small fan in the toilet but this didn't work well. There was no fan or vent in the shower so the room soon got very humid. we ended up buying a fan on a trip to Glasgow. It helped but wasn't ideal. The carpet was grubby and there were hairs attached to the bedding.....
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was beautiful.
Very friendly staff, great location, delicious breakfasts, rooms were basic but clean and just what I needed for my stay
We liked the close proximity of the New Lanark conference centre, which was the reason for our visit. The price was affordable. The hostel was quiet at night. The manager and his helper tried to accommodate our specific requests pleasantly.
The showers were clean, but the smooth stainless steel was very slippery. Our group was elderly. The questionnaire should include 'very good'. The hostel was better than just 'good'.
location was very good, price very good for twin room. The kitchen for cooking was well equipped.
The room was noisy, I think because of equipment in the kitchen directly below our room.
Located in one of the original buildings of the world heritage site.
Had to pay for WIFI
Fantastic setting with lots of historical interest. Excellent room, good breakfast. Very friendly and interesting warden.
Proximity to the conference center
