Friendly staff, very good in house facilities, everything within walking distance. Breakfast could have been better, head waiter speeding around like a headless chicken, would prefer if it was a buffet but overall good, clean, enjoyable stay. Would recommend to others.
The breakfast. Good service in dining room. Good Location.
The bathroom decor was a bit tired.
Though small this room had everything we could need including an ironing board. The beds were very comfortable and clean. There was constant hot water for a shower. We didnt eat dinner here but the breakfasts where very satisfactory
This had to be the smallest room I have ever slept in and the bathroom was miniscule. Because this room is at the front of the hotel we were disturbed at 5am by drunken revellers returning to the hotel and also by passers by shouting at each other.
The staff were friendly, the front of house, lounge and cocktail bar gave a good impression.
The bedroom furniture was tired and in need of replacement. The restaurant was not as clean as we would have expected, there was a stain on the table cloth on the Tuesday and the same cloth was still on the table on the Friday. The floor did not appear to have been vacuumed as debris from an 80's weekend was still on the floor when we left the following weekend.
Disappointing hotel but only there one night.
Breakfast arrangements. Cramped into a line.baked beans slopped too top of egg.
The room was much better than we expected taking into account the other reviews. It was large, modern and clean. The facilities were great, jacuzzi, sauna and swimming pool etc.
Cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat there.
The breakfasts were very good along with the pool etc. The cinema was excellent.
The staff were all overworked but we're good. The bed was a bit uncomfortable though.
We found it to be an absolute disgrace not being adressed by staff unless they were asked a direct question. Not a 'good morning', not a 'Hello'. Not even recieving a smile when crossing staff in the premises... A part from this it's just not worth the money. Ok they have an indoor pool and Jacuzzi which brought us to coming but frankly, seeing the filth in each corner of the hotel room I wonder how often this is taken care of and cleaned... We found several items in drawers and bathroom from previous visitors to I guess inspection of the room after service is quite poor. And whatever flags they have on the door it's clearly not gayfriendly!!
We liked the central convenient location. The room we ended up with was ok, clean and comfortable. Clean towels each day. Breakfast was good. For two star accommodation the price was reasonable. Most staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cramped shower. Long wait for any hot water to get through. Paintwork getting tired and in need of refurbishment. Kettle was chipped and stained. Shower tray showed signs of rust and mould. Reception vacant for long period at check out time. Staff spread too thinly "upstairs"
Staff were very good, eddy was professional, efficient and his character shone through. Entertainment delightful. Food excellent.
Very helpful staff and high quality fixtures and fittings- clean and comfortable room. The meals are of a very good standard. Nice to have plenty of parking and the hotel was close to the beaches and central Bournemouth.
The plumbing is obviously lower down the 'refurbishment' list but no mayor problems. The opening times of the restaurant where very limited. The cost of the stay was more expensive than the booking through the website.
The Hotel was clean and all the staff was helpful. The location is good and only about ten minutes walk to centre and beaches.
Some area's a little tired, and en suite toilet in the room we had was very small.
Tiny bathroom no room to put anything. Had to leave after 1 night but was charged for 3 nights booked
Food breakfast staff good bar entertainment
Pillows on the bed due some new ones
Being able to get a refund on our room.
We arrived and there was no reservation that came though but they managed to get us into a room. We were expecting to have a quiet weekend and were not told that the hotel was going to be full with people with special needs, I have nothing against these people but it was not pleasant when they were shouting and generally being loud in what I thought was going to be a quiet hotel. To make it worse when my partner went to the bathroom there was remains of faeces down the toilet which suggests the bathroom hasn't been cleaned at all! Overall very disappointed :(
The entrance/lobby of the new site was impressive Chamber maids were polite and helpful Breakfast was ok Staff tried to be helpful and polite, clearly overstretched. Good parking
Double room was too small Bathroom was double small. I am slim and could not move in the shower carpet in the dining room need to be changed the bathroom sink was miniature It took three calls just to get two more pillows Our room was right above the kitchen, so all the food smell entered our room
very congested rooms choice of breakfast No drinking water facility
the room was comfortable, clean and adequate for my needs. All of the staff were friendly and polite.
the location of the hotel was a little further away from the shops and pier than I would have preferred. Its ok for walking down to the beach but tiring when walking back up the hill. The shower in the ensuite bathroom was ok, though not very powerful and it took a few minutes for the water to heat up (maybe because I was on the 2nd floor(?)
Well positioned for access to seaside. Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking. Breakfast was served quickly and efficiently.
Small old fashioned lift. Compact room, but otherwise good. No iron
My room was particularly small and very hot, could have done with air conditioning
The position was good close enough to walk into Bournemouth and plenty of free parking. We had breakfast there and the dining room was clean and airy and a good choice. Indoor pool was available and clean. Fresh towels in room each day.
The room was very small and wasn't as portrayed in the picture. It was also very hot and when asked if there were any fans were told no, no one has one.
Our double bedroom was tiny, the smallest double bedroom hotel room I have ever stayed in. And we were apparently upgraded to a premium or superior room whatever they called it, it was 8ft wide and about 9ft long, I think prison cells are larger.
location was good (assuming you are able bodied!) Overall would say that the hotel was functional and for a short break served its purpose
no atmosphere - not even music playing. food was plain and nothing special. Rooms were clean but due to the current refurbishmnet a strange mix of old and shabby and new "bits" Over time im sure this will improve. Hotel grounds could be much improved by getting rid of the hideous bowling green and return to landscaped gardens - somewhere the older generation could relax and enjoy a cream tea (of which there was mention anywhere) and childern could play in. Lack of outside facilities let the hotel down. Would also suggest a free shuttle bus to help the less able bodied guests to at least get to and from the town gardens or the beach. The swimming pool and sauna was again functional - would hate to be in there with more than 2 peopel tho - no room for any recliners or chairs to at least add a bit of atmosphere. Felt like you were in a dungeon! Woudl also make more of teh receptin area. the front of house manager was hidden away and you felt like you were intruding. With a bit of attention to detail, to bring the hotel up to the 21st century (nobody uses metal teapots anylonger - reminiscent of a builders caff!) some atmosphere and better use of the gardens would make it a much more enjoyable stay rather than just a bed for the night
Pool, sauna and Jacuzzi, nice big room needed refurb.free car parking.
carpet in the dining room worse for wear, sink too small in the bathroom, breakfast with undercooked sausage, uncomfortable hard bed.
