The Food was Excellent. And the Location very easy to find & plenty of car spaces. We would Definately stay again & recommend it, to anyone.
Location Price Facilities at hotel (bar, restaurant etc.) Excellent sized room friendly staff
Continental breakfast was rather 'sparse' for the price (choice etc.)
Clean rooms & spacious. Plenty of parking. Helpful staff. Good value on 2 for 1 meal deals if not staying alone.
Creaky floorboards late at night from people walking to rooms.
Friendly front desk staff Simple booking in procedure Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable
Room and bed were comfortable, once we got the room warmed up. We only ate breakfast but quality and quantity were excellent.
The room was cold when we arrived at 9 pm,it took about 30 minutes to warm it up.
Great price, clean, simple, roomy, was handy having food and drink available downstairs as we were exhausted and didn't feel like going out in car again
Water for bath was a bit cool, but topped up with kettle! ,
Bedroom was great size and bed very comfy
Bit shabby in public areas
I'm struggling to think of anything I liked but I suppose the location was ok
The staff were rude from Arrival to departure the hotel rooms were not clean. We asked for soap to be put in the dispenser but no one did. It took us over an hour to park I'm their car park as they were hosting a bonfire and no one thought to info is of this. the cars were covered in ash the next morning so had to find a car wash place before we could continue our journey. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very poor. Breakfast the following morning was not much better. I wrote a letter of complaint but had no response which sums up the hotel and its lack of customer care and common courtesy
Very clean and comfortable room. The thing I most appreciated is that it was quiet, unlike several other Barnsley hotels I have stayed in as a solo traveller, so I could have a peaceful night's sleep after a tiring journey.
Nothing. A snacks machine would have been handy.
Hairs in the bath and on bathroom wall. All a bit sad and dreary. Will go to Premier Inn next time.
the food was very good and good value
the rooms need updating and the floors are very very bad if someone in the next room or in the corridor moved it was as if in the same room
Lovely and quiet room, very comfy bed, welcoming staff
Room needed a Hoover, crumbs on floor, bath very slippy when stood for shower, slip mat needed!
The location was excellent
The floorboards creaked !
Beds were comfy, staff were friendly
wifi was awful couldnt connect all weekend, location was a bit away from everything
Good and friendly staff, nice kitchen. Clean and quit room, very good!
WiFi system is "the Cloud", which is very, very poor. I had to work on my laptop, but unfortunately the connection was far to slow.
Pleasant budget hotel
Misleading to call it Barnsley. It took 35 minutes in morning rush hour traffic to reach town centre.
Room and atmosphere in bar was good Bed was comfortable and overall the hotel had a good feel about it
Breakfast ! Went to brekkie at 9am to be met by a blonde lady who looked absolutely devastated that we had come down to get breakfast. We were left stood there but decided to just sit at a table anyway.she carried on wiping a table down ?Not knowing what to do i thought well i have to ask. Her reply ; do you want full breakfast. ; yes please i said. Does she not know we just paid just short of £15 for it. We felt horrible at this stage, we wasnt wanted at this point. We decided to get some cereal and had to ask for tea/ coffee. She said ill get jug of hot water . Help yourself. ( she didnt get it !!!) I had to ask again after we finished our breakfast. Why did we feel naughty for asking ??? She brought the food and no attempt was made to take our cereal bowls away (small table). Another girl (black hair)stood behind food counter watched me struggling to open the hot water jug. No speech whatsoever and looked at me like she really did not want to be there. All i can say is its nice to be nice to people. If you dont want the job LEAVE and let someone else do the job!. We had stayed over for the Halloween ball and really enjoyed it but these people ruined the whole experience. We felt like leppers and couldnt get out quick enough (probably what they wanted). So we probably wont come here again and its a real shame cos we had a meal earlier in the pub side and food was good.shame really To the hotel staff....if your so miserable book yourself in for next years halloween ball...you certainly frightened us !!!!!! You could be the tribute act.....Bat out of hell !!!!!!
the rate I payed for the room
The food was not up to much, no hot water for the shower in the morning , television was not working on some channels
Mostly, staff were helpful. The breakfast was delicious, but breakfast time ended at 9:00. (I would have prefered 9:30.) Everything was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
1) Nobody told me that I had to put my card in the slot to get the lights to work. As a partially sighted person, it was not an easy problem to overcome. I use a white cane, so my sight problem is quite obvious, and I mentioned it when I booked. 2) On booking, I ordered a breakfast, but when I got to the hotel, it had not been booked. After a long journey, this was another complication I could have done without.
Booked a family room but when we got to room there was a bed missing, when I mentioned this to reception they questioned me as if it was my mistake
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The single beds are very small and uncomfortable. There were plastic covers on the mattress which made a noise every time you moved. The door key was temperamental and had to be reprogrammed twice. Furniture had not been moved when hoovering so lots of dust between the bed and the bedside cabinet. Creeping floorboards which were very noisy and no hair dryers in the room. Considered checking out but had already paid.
we found that this place is a bit out of the way but every thing else came up to scratch.the food was very good and plentiful good staff all in all a pleasant break
Very helpful receptionist. Clean room and a comfy bed.
Very slow breakfast - not enough staff?
I would like to give a special mention to Rachel on reception who helped me with an issue relating to my vehicle. She couldn't have helped me anymore than she did. Fantastic!!!!
I was 20 mins late going for Breakfast but the staff were very pleasant and took my order and went and prepared my Breakfast, great service, thank you.
