Friendly helpful staff Great food Nice pub Lovely gardens Nice village Spacious room
Shower over bath difficult to get in to.This may only have been in our room as sloping ceiling prevented shower door opening fully
Very pretty setting
Fan in bathroom stays on for ten minutes that is a problem during the night. Walls are thin so can hear fan and television from adjacent room. Object to wife being referred to as guys
Made very welcome. Spacious comfortable room Ate 3 nights in restaurant. Excellent food and service
Location and nice country pub
Pillows to hard but that's a personal preference
For what was rooms in a pub the bedroom was surprisingly large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. They were able to get a newspaper for me in the morning which was nice.
The staff here are great. I've stayed here three times now for business purposes and will continue to stay here if I am in that area in future. Although the rooms are above a pub, all is quiet after about 11pm. I would recommend an evening meal here and the breakfast is great!
Room clean and comfortable we ate in the restaurant which for a Wednesday evening was full with guests and locals and we were not disappointed with the meal which was tasty and well presented.
+ Pub atmosphere + Friendly staff + Nice location to enjoy country walks in Kent. + Nice town
- English breaksfast was really too greasy !
The breakfast was good. The bar and beer was fine. The location is very pleasant in a pretty and quiet village.
Room 12 in the stable block was subject to noise every four minutes like a ventilation system purging itself for 15-20 seconds. Sleep was impossible until exhaustion set in. While breakfasting at 7.30 the espresso machine was noisily self cleaning for at least 15 minutes two metres away from the dining area. Why?
Everyone was very friendly & helpful, the room was excellent and the food superb. Great beer garden - there is an area furthest away from the pub with plenty of space for families with children to play.
Really good food lovely and quiet great sleep
Nothing to report
Very friendly and efficient staff. Easy parking for car. Nice well kept village to stroll around. Choice of other local pubs.
The mattress didn't suit one of us. Our room had an over bath shower stepping into the bath not so easy for older people. Suggest change to walk in shower would be better for most visitors. Would not stop us coming again!
We went for a 'special' occasion and to match the event the staff treated us extremely well - and the food was good
Converted stable room was a bit small but well fitted
good food and lovely rooms
bed very very hard and uncomfortable didn't have a good nights sleep
the village, the dinner, the breakfast, the room and the environment
the gardens were not well kept and the borders were tacky and it seemed the love for the place and the gardens has run out
Made very welcome and having a pint or two of real ales in their large and tidy beer garden. Food was of great value and the breakfast was first class. Room was clean and tidy and although it was very warm keeping the windows open was no problem. Within very easy reach of the channel tunnel.
Nothing, will stay again
Staff where very friendly And beer was good as was the breakfast
Beautiful gardens and buildings. Lovely traditional pub feel. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful with check in etc.
Very nice pub, good food, ideal for stopover on the way to crossing the Chanel.
The whole experience was pleasurable the staff the room the food. Exceptional value for money.
If you don't want the normal corporate surrounding if the big brand hotels stay here. 15 mins to Eurotunnel, good rooms and very hood food, oh and a final chance for decent beers from their excellent range .
Recently refurbished to high standard. Room very comfortable and quiet, despite fact that downstairs reastaurant and bars. Restaurant again recently refurbished to high standard, food excellent and service prompt & friendly. First-class find.
Friendliness and efficiency of all staff! Comfortable bed- room was perfect! Lovely breakfast.
The room, from what I can remember was very comfortable. I am fairly sure I slept well however the state I was in world war 3 could have started and I would have continued sleeping. I awoke on Sunday morning after a particularly refreshing evening at a wedding nearby. All I needed was some solid matter inside my tummy in order to settle things down. I managed to crawl into the dining room to be met by the friendly and attentive waitress. I think she realised the situation I was in and promptly served a wonderful black coffee. The fruit juices on offer also took a battering as I attempted to refresh myself with fluid that had no hint of hops or grapes. Breakfast then arrived and the plate of meat and baked beans was quite possibly the best thing I have ever seen in my life. It surpassed the day my own child was born, when I received my first bicycle as a young boy and my first experience of a woman. With hands like cows tits I set about devouring the first meal of the day. it was delicious and the sausages were exceptional. I returned to my bedroom with a good tummy full of food and started to feel bteer about myself. A quick bit of gentlemanly relaxation and I was back on track ready to face the world or in fact the village cricket game back in Sussex. Thank you for a lovely stay. If I am back in the area at another time I will stay again although hopefully the circumstances won't be so serious and its not seeing another man commit the rest of their life to torture and civil unrest. Kind regards, Dick
