Good location for a stop over from a continental journey Good food and drink with ambience Well designed accommodation in the converted stable building Nice old village worth a walk around with several other pub foodie places for an extended stay
Beautiful surroundings for walking and centrally located for visiting villages and cities such as Cantebury. Friendly staff and tastful meals. Spacious parking.
The matrasses are thin
very impressed with the whole set up .run very good with good staff
Quiet for a pub. The English breakfast. Very pleasant manager. Friendly staff.
Long walk from the car park to the pub and then up a flight of stairs to negotiate a closed door and steps with a heavy suitcase.
20 minutes to Ashford Eurostar terminal even in the rush hour. V quiet location. Good meal in the bar on arrival at v reasonable price and great breakfast in the morning
loved the gorgeous little country inn. We had a room in the converted barn which was very pretty, and quiet. We had our evening meal in the pub which was excellent and good value. Would definately recommend to my friends
Overall the ambiance and food was excellent
The location. The character of the place
The building is starting to look a bit worn out
Excellent staff, service and clean room. Great value.
Spotlessly clean accommodation Excellent food Pleasant & helpful staff Convenient location for Canterbury & surrounding area
Bed could have been slightly more comfortable but that was personal preference
Excellent food. Very friendly and polite staff. Very clean. Only one drawback - no bedside table my side of the bed (suggest small corner table for book, Specs, and morning cuppa) .
No bedside table.
Noise from the Bar till late
The room was so warm, clean and fresh. Big bath and shower. Lovely quiet room and lots of extras left in room e.g. hot chocolate!! Breakfast was everything you would expect plus they catered for my gluten free request
Friendly helpful staff Great food Nice pub Lovely gardens Nice village Spacious room
Shower over bath difficult to get in to.This may only have been in our room as sloping ceiling prevented shower door opening fully
Very pretty setting
Fan in bathroom stays on for ten minutes that is a problem during the night. Walls are thin so can hear fan and television from adjacent room. Object to wife being referred to as guys
Made very welcome. Spacious comfortable room Ate 3 nights in restaurant. Excellent food and service
Location and nice country pub
Pillows to hard but that's a personal preference
For what was rooms in a pub the bedroom was surprisingly large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. They were able to get a newspaper for me in the morning which was nice.
The staff here are great. I've stayed here three times now for business purposes and will continue to stay here if I am in that area in future. Although the rooms are above a pub, all is quiet after about 11pm. I would recommend an evening meal here and the breakfast is great!
Room clean and comfortable we ate in the restaurant which for a Wednesday evening was full with guests and locals and we were not disappointed with the meal which was tasty and well presented.
+ Pub atmosphere + Friendly staff + Nice location to enjoy country walks in Kent. + Nice town
- English breaksfast was really too greasy !
The breakfast was good. The bar and beer was fine. The location is very pleasant in a pretty and quiet village.
Room 12 in the stable block was subject to noise every four minutes like a ventilation system purging itself for 15-20 seconds. Sleep was impossible until exhaustion set in. While breakfasting at 7.30 the espresso machine was noisily self cleaning for at least 15 minutes two metres away from the dining area. Why?
Everyone was very friendly & helpful, the room was excellent and the food superb. Great beer garden - there is an area furthest away from the pub with plenty of space for families with children to play.
Really good food lovely and quiet great sleep
