Nice welcom , very good comfort
Comfortable bed and TV for the short time we had it.
9.35pm TV suddenly lost main aerial connection, despite retuning several times TV did not work. I have my own suspicion about what happened, but obviously cannot prove it. Plaster on walls was flaking and made good with a curtain covering. Fridge was stated as being available in room, but wasn't. Advertised parking, but on arrival said there wasn't parking and directed me to a town centre car park. Location on main road close to a junction with double yellows outside so difficult to drop off and then find parking.
Friendly welcome Good size double room with comfy bed. Good shower, nice towels Breakfast at our chosen time
B&b sign outside partly obscured, not easy to find in street. Some distance from ferry, further than advert suggested. Old, out of date leaflets and brochures in hallway. Weird breakfast items! Had to pay extra for breakfast, and for our tiny cat!
The room and facilities were excellent.
The position of the lodge so close to traffic lights and double yellow lines on a major road were a problem for us arriving late at night. We found it difficult to find with the one way system off the ferry and with nowhere to park it was a bit of a nightmare which we could have avoided if we had been made aware of the difficulties beforehand.
Proximity to the ferry. The staff were helpful.
difficulty in finding on street parking. Concern as to character of the locality; it appeared rough. Cramped conditions. uncertainty of procedure at breakfast.
Staff were very friendly Rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Slept really well. Good breakfast selection.
No parking although we did manage to park on road at back of property.
No where to park. Breakfast below average, barely hot. Selection poor. Room very small, needs decorating.
It is walking distance from the train and ferry (up some hills). Very good breakfast. Room and bathroom were very small but good enough for one night stay. Thankfully we had only 4 backpacks as there is not much room for luggage.
There is no elevator so expect to carry all your stuff up.
Large comfortable en-suite room with Wi-Fi access. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
Parking is limited, but nearby car park is available.
The beds were comfortable and bathroom was big.
Very dated bedding and decoration!! Needs a make over in the rooms. We staying in the room above the kitchen and you could hear all the clanging of saucepans ect first thing in the morning.
Large, quiet room, clean and well decorated with very comfortable bed.
There was nowhere to park. The house is on a main road with double yellow lines. All the side streets were packed with parked cars. We eventually found a spot about a quarter of a mile away and had to walk with our luggage at 10.45pm. We could only park until 7.30am, so had to leave without breakfast. The B&B would be ideal for foot passengers from the ferry, who could get there by taxi.
Only one parking space. We had front room so noisy close to the road traffic in the morning.
Bed was very comfortable Nice clean, modern bathroom
Cat came into dining room, jumping on tables. Dated décor and furnishings
close to ferry clean confortable good breakfast pleasant staff at breakfast
difficult location no parking staff not so pleasant on arrival no ventillation
It was the cheapest room we could find on a bank holiday weekend and the last room available.
No parking at the hotel, had to leave car in a side street
First of all when I opened the bed I found plenty of hairs in the linen, so I guess that it had not been changed. Moreover, I was told to leave the bikes in the kitchen, which is not a clean approach. Breakfast poor and £ 2 extra charge for not UK credit card.
The staff tried to be friendly
Parking out the back for one SMALL car. Then reverse out 100m. Had push bikes hitting our car so they could try an store their bikes near the car. We finally got the car into the one spot and the next door neighbour came home and CHAINED HIS CAR UP !!!!! At breakfast time a black cat was allowed to run in and out of the dining area and jumped up onto a table and sat there. Is that a breach of the food hygiene rules.????? As a former business owner associated with the food industry i would say not. Not like the pictures on their site.
I phoned 7 days prior to my stay to cancel, but it was to no avail. my wife had broken her leg and was in a wheelchair, the owner was very rude and hungup, she would not accept my explanation as my wife could not climb any stairs.
no parking no towels until we asked light not working in bathroom only one channel on TV
unfriendly manner of host and refusal to serve breakfast before 7.30- not helpful when we had a ferry to catch. deafening noise from seagulls.
good location. Adequate room and the bikes were safe.Pretty good breakfast.
Newhaven was very run down and depressing. There was nowhere to eat in the town, only takeaways. Fortunately the pub landlady let us eat our fish'n chips in the pub! relatively expensive. Not particularly welcoming.
Leaving the channel ferry late, no problems with late arrival
Big comfy bed,good breakfast,close to station/ferry terminal.
