It was the cheapest room we could find on a bank holiday weekend and the last room available.

No parking at the hotel, had to leave car in a side street

I phoned 7 days prior to my stay to cancel, but it was to no avail. my wife had broken her leg and was in a wheelchair, the owner was very rude and hungup, she would not accept my explanation as my wife could not climb any stairs.

good location. Adequate room and the bikes were safe.Pretty good breakfast.

Newhaven was very run down and depressing. There was nowhere to eat in the town, only takeaways. Fortunately the pub landlady let us eat our fish'n chips in the pub! relatively expensive. Not particularly welcoming.

Fairly close walking distance from the station and proprietor is very friendly and great to talk to. In addition, the room was clean and comfortable. The en suite facilities were clean and well presented. It is comforting to know that you can request a quiet room and this's granted. A great place to stay

Need to be listed clear that room rates do not include breakfast although classified as a B and B

We loved the friendliness of the hostess, the high standard of cleanliness, the variety of choice and quantity of the breakfast!

We arrived from the ferry quite late at night to find double yellow lines on both sides of the road!!!The parking areas are to the rear of the property in the small side streets, Quite worrying with a car full of luggage!!

Near to the ferry. Warm bathroom and buffet breakfast.

Newhaven and also on arrival the gentleman was abrupt to two travel weary cyclists.

Very friendly and clean, though rooms a little cramped for more than an overnight stay. Good value with decent breakfast included. Very close to ferry.

Disastrous parking - double yellow lines everywhere.

A good location for anyone who's either catching the Dieppe ferry or getting the bus on to Brighton. Plenty of information lying about - no difficulty choosing where to eat out or be entertained. En suite bathroom and other new fittings had been chosen with care and make good use of limited space.

For £72 for single occupancy of a twin I expected more space - physically the place remains a boarding house, however hard you try to make it into a hotel. Not sure a hot buffet breakfast is a good idea with so little space to lay it out. You feel you can't take a normal portion of anything without leaving practically nothing for anyone else. Most breakfast rooms of this size offer a combination of help-yourself cold food and a cooked breakfast made to order. One member of staff clearly lacked confidence in English, something you can't afford in this part of the world.

    location

car parking is very poor, having to park a long way from B@B the street they say you can park in was very full with no space, so we had to find and park in a side street 5-10mins walk away, as there is only one very small car parking space at the B@B.

    Fairly priced clean and comfortable

Situated on a very busy main road, nowhere to park and unload car easily. Overnight parking was not ideal, app. 100 yards in another street, security therefore was questionable.

The owners allowed us to park in the front space when the rest of the road was very full of cars. Lovely comfortable bed in room 2. Breakfast was very relaxed and you could eat and drink as much as you want. Carried our bags up to the room and very friendly staff and atmosphere. Also provided gluten free bread after stating on the booking form.

Decoration in the building slightly dated.

Lovely people running the Newhavdn lodge.

The price was little steep for the night for a family of four with young children, usually they would be free.5 and 7 years old.
