Room was cold - heating went off over night. No Wi fi although stated there was. Card machine faulty when coming to pay - asked to go to cash point that wasn't there so had to use all cash. Apologies given but not good
quiet spot, owner very friendly, very convenient for ferry.
difficult to find parking without prior instructions or map when booking.
We arrived at 17:30pm and was shown straight to our room on the first floor, Landlady demanded payment straight away in the room which I did, we paid in cash and asked for a reciept which we still don't have. The room was ok dated and smelt like fried food. The next morning my partner went in the bathroom to find water all over the fllor, looking at the sink when the taps were turned on it leaked, we asked the landlady if she could fix it for when we got back. When we did arrive back it was still leaking. Monday soon come and as our house had builders we did decided to book another 2 nights, in the end we canceled them after the trouble we had. We left on the monday morning at 10am to find when I checked my emails the landlady has recored us as no shows! This means she is trying to get another payment of £175 from my bank, I have complained to booking.com but they cant help. The landlady has changed her mind though from a no show to yes we did arrive but we didnt pay for the stay. She cant and wont prove to booking.com that we did/ didnt pay for our stay as it was cash. I am now in contact with police and the local council to get this matter sorted out as my partner upon packing up left our passports and a bank card on the side and now the landlady is refusing to give them back.
The friendliness and location to ferry termination and cost
A good breakfast after a good nights sleep
Clean room and bathroom. Extremely comfortable bed. Kind and helpful staff. Good location, close to the ferry station.
However all quickly rectified and apologies made. Should have been a reduction though in the bill. Room comfortable with all, necessary requirements in place.
Arriving in the midst of redecorating and getting hands covered in paint and on coat from door handle. Dust from plaster all over shoes etc. Bill quoted at £55 on arrival and charged £60 following morning! Parking facilities are dire.
Ability to check in late Breakfast (cooked + cereal + toast + cake or yoghurt + fruit) Room fine Bed great - very big!
Fierce hot tap in sink Couldn't get TV to work Little parking near
The whole lot would recommend to every who wants to stay in new haven
Liked it all
Having booked an upgrade to a large bed, we were shown to our room with two single beds side by side. When I mentioned this, I was told it was the largest room with the largest bathroom, and the beds, side-by-side, were bigger than double. Yeah - great .... until they slide apart. I'd also forgotten the £5 extra each for breakfast
Having a comfortable bed after a long land and sea journey.
Lack of parking and communication problems
Nice welcom , very good comfort
Comfortable bed and TV for the short time we had it.
9.35pm TV suddenly lost main aerial connection, despite retuning several times TV did not work. I have my own suspicion about what happened, but obviously cannot prove it. Plaster on walls was flaking and made good with a curtain covering. Fridge was stated as being available in room, but wasn't. Advertised parking, but on arrival said there wasn't parking and directed me to a town centre car park. Location on main road close to a junction with double yellows outside so difficult to drop off and then find parking.
Friendly welcome Good size double room with comfy bed. Good shower, nice towels Breakfast at our chosen time
B&b sign outside partly obscured, not easy to find in street. Some distance from ferry, further than advert suggested. Old, out of date leaflets and brochures in hallway. Weird breakfast items! Had to pay extra for breakfast, and for our tiny cat!
The room and facilities were excellent.
The position of the lodge so close to traffic lights and double yellow lines on a major road were a problem for us arriving late at night. We found it difficult to find with the one way system off the ferry and with nowhere to park it was a bit of a nightmare which we could have avoided if we had been made aware of the difficulties beforehand.
Proximity to the ferry. The staff were helpful.
difficulty in finding on street parking. Concern as to character of the locality; it appeared rough. Cramped conditions. uncertainty of procedure at breakfast.
Staff were very friendly Rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Slept really well. Good breakfast selection.
No parking although we did manage to park on road at back of property.
No where to park. Breakfast below average, barely hot. Selection poor. Room very small, needs decorating.
It is walking distance from the train and ferry (up some hills). Very good breakfast. Room and bathroom were very small but good enough for one night stay. Thankfully we had only 4 backpacks as there is not much room for luggage.
There is no elevator so expect to carry all your stuff up.
Large comfortable en-suite room with Wi-Fi access. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
Parking is limited, but nearby car park is available.
The beds were comfortable and bathroom was big.
Very dated bedding and decoration!! Needs a make over in the rooms. We staying in the room above the kitchen and you could hear all the clanging of saucepans ect first thing in the morning.
Large, quiet room, clean and well decorated with very comfortable bed.
There was nowhere to park. The house is on a main road with double yellow lines. All the side streets were packed with parked cars. We eventually found a spot about a quarter of a mile away and had to walk with our luggage at 10.45pm. We could only park until 7.30am, so had to leave without breakfast. The B&B would be ideal for foot passengers from the ferry, who could get there by taxi.
Only one parking space. We had front room so noisy close to the road traffic in the morning.
