Everything. Roy the Landlord picked us up from the station and looked after us all weekend. The food was amazing and with a selection of ales to add to the pleasure.
Nothing - even walking in the rain was a pleasure knowing that the New Inn would be welcoming us back.
Very clean, well appointed rooms. Food and service excellant even when busy.
SUPERB food - excellent restaurant!! Lovely service Perfect location Excellent service
No champagne in room on arrival as we had requested But it didn't really matter!
Beautifully renovated accommodation and communal areas
Restaurant staff were friendly and clearly knew their stuff; their service was good - it would be excellent if they could just lighten up and smile a bit :)
Overall a friendly establishment - bedroom superb with really exciting dinner menu
At times long wait for service in dining room
Location. The owner did explain that the hotel was in the middle of a mass refurbishment. Our luxury twin room overlooked the beer garden which could have been a problem with noise on what was a very warm evening. Not sure what the term "luxury" meant. The evening meal in the restaurant was fine .
As noted on a review in June 2014 there were no spoons with the breakfast jam and marmalade and that was still the case at the end of July. For the price we paid for our room, breakfast was a do it yourself system, only the cooked breakfast was brought to the table. Tea/coffee was self service, bread was available to toast in the toaster provided and the fresh fruit was a few blueberries and strawberries.
The staff were very attentive, friendly and polite. The landlord was friendly and charming..
Excellent décor, Staff very friendly when I could find them! Architecture. Good sound insulation. Spacious comfortable bedroom. I'm no judge of food, but it seemed fine to me. They're getting there, but there is a little way to go.
Mirror in bathroom too low. Need more shelving in bathroom. Only one chair in bedroom.
Rooms were spotless. Quality of food excellent
Bit on the pricey side for a country village inn
Everything, staff friendly and very helpful, food excellent .
The staff were brilliant, lovely ambiance to the whole place and the rooms were well designed and very comfortable - lovely bathroom too.
Coffee tray a bit mean - we bought our own during our stay. I'm sure if we had asked more would have been put out but two sachets of "proper" coffee not enough per day.
We loved the place, the rooms were modern in design yet with an authentic feel. The staff, particularly the owners were so lovely and ensured our every need was catered for. Will be going back!
Waiting to check in
This hotel has been recently refurbished very tastefully and to a high standard. We had booked a twin room for our teenage children, on arrival we were told that actually the didn't have a twin room free so they had put the kids into a suite which the kids were overjoyed with - a room each and a fantastic large bathroom with freestanding claw foot bath and separate large shower. The evening meals were amazing, I had the pork belly which was to die for, just a warning, we thought it was worth the money but definitely not bar meal prices. Breakfast was equally good, with choices from omelettes, fried breakfast which accommodated vegetarians, smoked salmon and scrambled egg muffins and choice of fruits, yoghurt etc. They were happy to make up packed lunches and also provide pack up breakfasts the night before for those leaving early in the morning to tackle the three peaks. Located in a beautiful village, it is perfectly located for climbing Inglenook which is reached by a path from the village passing Inglenook caves which is certainly worth a visit. We ate in an italian restaurant in Settle on one night, located in the village square, lovely and very good value for money. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend The New Inn, although think it is a little overpriced for the location.
We thought this hotel was a little overpriced and our room was over the bar which was extremely noisy (room 11). Other than that can't fault it at all.
We liked the room, food and location of the hotel.
Would of liked a pot of tea with breakfast. we had to make our own and the water was hot, but not boiled. On 2 mornings there was nowhere to put used tea bags and one morning there was no spoons for fruit, marmalade and jam. one morning nothing to put cereals in.
Staff were most helpfull and could not do enough for us.
ONly small niggle was that i'm used to a power shower and the shower pressure in the room was only adequate.
Location and food
Cups dirty glasses dirty had to return 3 items during my stay. Sizes of drinks differed from day to day. Rooms overpriced.
The food was good. Decor nice. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Good location for walking. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Pillows not very comfortable. No proper coffee at breakfast
Atmosphere, style, decor, food, beer bed comfort, peacefulness, friendliness of welcome
A few minor details
Friendly staff, good food, nice room
Our room was one of two 'dog friendly' rooms situated on the ground floor, this in itself was a good idea for lots of reasons. However the room window looked out on to one of the main entrances to the bar/hotel and opposite the children's play area. We felt very open to people looking in and as the only place to sit and relax was on the bed in direct line to the window it would have been better if there had been a net/voile curtain or Venetian blind to give a little privacy rather than closing the curtains making the room dark and quite warm....
The quality of the refurbished bedrooms and public rooms
We were warmly welcomed but not intrusively. The renovation work has been elegantly done, tasteful and refreshing with excellent attention to detail - congratulations to our hosts who were always approachable and receptive to our observations. We would certainly recommend to friends or others wanting a wonderful location, many beautiful walks and points of interest, quiet; excellent food and friendly service.
advertising excellent coffee out front, it was disappointing to have only "instant" coffee for breakfast which seemed out of keeping with the general high standard and excellent cuisine which we enjoyed very much. Another very minor point, the absence of water glasses in the bedroom. This was instantly rectified when mentioned.
I liked the staff, very friendly and helpful . Hotel had been refurbished to an excellent standard. Many thoughtful finishing touches
Our spacious room, delicious food, friendly welcome and staff, everything really.
having to leave
We really liked the hotel. The room was newly refurbished to a high standard. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The location was superb, in a quiet, picturesque village close to some fabulous walks.
