Best Western New Kent Hotel

The staff were very nice and the breakfast was good

It was an average hotel. There is no lift so a disabled person would have trouble

Efficien, clean ideally situated for my stay.

The only reason I booked was because I need a smoking room and was offered one. On arrival I was told that there were no smoking rooms at all. I was misled by the hotel's web site and the booking.com web site.

Located away from the City Centre, which at least ensured a good nights sleep. And, for the record, we found Newcastle to be a great city with some very friendly people.

Everything creeks. Our floor creeked badly which must have annoyed the guests below and, likewise, the floor above our room made a lot of noise. Also, when we arrived we were put in a room that had not been made-up although that was apologetically rectified by the man on reception. Still, not a good first impression.

The cleanliness and quietness inside the hotel was first class with a well laid out provision for breakfast.

Although the staff were quite efficient I found that the general atmosphere appeared to be too formal for the size of the hotel.

Its a bit out of the way without an active bar area. The fire alarm went off at 2.30 apparently as a result of somebody having a shower. Although myself I wouldn't shower at 2.30 in the morning, I wouldn't expect this to set off an alarm. The breakfast was a bit uninspiring.
