Comfy bed, friendly staff. Shower was only OK - not quite enough for an official black mark, but nearly.

The hotel was situated in a fairly busy road, but nevertheless a quiet part of Newcastle, and was opposite a picturesque green and church and, as a bonus, had a bus stop immediately outside, and a short walk to the Metro. The front garden was well looked after and the tulips, though somewhat battered due to the elements, added to an impressive frontage and first impression. Our room was fine with delightful view of said green and church. Also, an excellent size bathroom. We preferred the excellent value and tasty bar meals to the more expensive restaurant menu. All the meals, including breakfast, were well presented. The restaurant was attractive and tables were always laid up ready for business. We came across many members of staff during our stay and all were polite and welcoming. We stayed for ten nights and were very happy and content with our choice of hotel. Difficult to find anything to dislike. It was a bit of a trudge up to our room on the top floor after a long day out, or a meal, but nothing can be done about this, and it helped keep us fit!

Staff all very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and as described at booking. Breakfast was very good. Parking was very difficult due to limited spaces available for the hotel (although the receptionist was very helpful on the first night moving her car for me!). Floors in the hotel also very creaky which was a little annoying if I was in bed later than 0630am as several of the other guests weren't!

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Good bathroom Cooked breakfast was poor, awful cheap sausages, egg was cooked but didn't appear to be fried, very small mushrooms and tasteless, tomato hard.

There was an initial concern regarding noise from the next room. We raised it with the receptionist, who stated she would address this, whilst we were out shopping. This she obviously did, as there was no further problems at all. Great customer service and lovely staff! We would definatley stay again.

We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding and needed a base. We looked for something nice but cheap and weren't expecting anything much. We were pleasently surprised on arrival and our room was fantastic. The food was lovely and freshly cooked. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and it's a short walk to the shops and bars.

The location was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The cooked breakfast was of a good standard, let down by inattentiive service. The bedroom was in need of redecoration, the curtains were falling apart, and the room was cold. The floor had a very noticeable slope and felt in need of a structural engineer's report. The selection at breakfast was poor, the fresh fruit was not so fresh, looked old and bruised, although the cooked food was of a good standard.

Quiet and comfortable in a busy area where there are some less than good value hotels. As it's around the conrner at the top of Osborne Road it's away from thestag/hen parties and latenight drinking, and as it only has a private bar it seems likely that that likely to be usually the case. Bedrooms warm, double glazed, good bed. Friendly, helpful staff. The lighting in the room was too dark to work by

The food I was served for dinner on Sunday night can only be described as atrocious. The chef/cook should not even have let it out of the kitchen. My wife's dish was a bit better. I noticed other diners complaining - heard "diabolical" in one person's comment! Evidently a la carte not available on Sundays but we were not told this until we sat down. Value for money score is purely due to this, otherwise it would have been Good. Otherwise a nice little hotel but it was spoilt by this meal.

Asked for a room on the ground floor as one of our party is disabled..Did not pickup on the website that there were no ground floor rooms and not even a lift. Was disappointed that no one got back to me about this. Our friend struggled with stairs but managed.

The hotel is what it claims..a good quality 3*. Great location in that it's on a main road but a quieter part. Helpful staff. Arrived early + got in our rooms no problem. Rooms were clean + very comfortable. Breakfast was made to order. Quick efficient service. Cannot fault the hotel at all. Would definately stay again.
