Free Wi-Fi and good location.
Awkward rooms which are cramped and uncomfortable, I got a splinter from a coathanger, and the whole place is under construction work.
Close to Camden where we were visiting.....cheap, comfortable room
Unfortunately, the bar area was being refurbished, which was really disappointing as we have stayed there before and the food, staff and atmosphere were fantastic! We were, however offered a bigger room and will definitely return when bar reopens!
The room was small and basic but it was perfect location to the Emirates stadium. I would definitely return to this establishment again as it served it purpose well. At present they are doing up the bar area so there were bar or restaurant facilities available. But on the plus side to returning there will be new bar and food facilities available. I would also like to pay complement the lovely lady who was present at breakfast and also done house keeping. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Expected a pub where we could get a drink and meal.....arrived to what looked like a shut down pub! Luckily my sister found a way in.
Good location - on a frequent bus route. Shop next door has Oyster Card top up facilities. Costs £8-10 to reach in a Taxi from Euston.
The only good thing is the 390 bus that stops 20 meters away from the "hotel"
Once we arrived all the good expectations disappeared, all the pub was under a complete renovation and we were not able to use the service we paid for. The staff was unprepared and not educated to serve customers in proper way, according with the fact that we paid 75£. The common spaces were dirty and not presented as in the internet pictures, the level of hygiene is unthinkable for any civil human been. The breakfast was the poorest that we ever had in any hotel all around the world and was placed in the pub next to the renovating works. Unfortunatelly we spent our money really badly.
I liked the room offered hanging space for clothes, compact bathroom, tea and kettle and good wifi, tv in room and generally clean
The reception and breakfast area was part of a building site, duvet cover was ripped and the bed was broken slat fell out. I originally booked it as it was a public house but this was closed under going the refurbishment. was not worth £90 for a Saturday night should have been reduced to reflect building works.
room was small but clean, tidy, comfortable. Would probably try it again after renovations to see the difference
Bathroom to small, couldn't dry your self. The pub iself is under full refurbishment and not in use, bedrooms only.
Rooms are newly renovated and clean. Breakfast consist of 3 different pastries, toast, ham, cheese, cereals and juice.
I'm lead to believe that it is new and still under construction. Bathroom was small. Location was not the best. 20 minutes from Camden road station. But easy to get to by bus.
well what anybody failed to inform us was the downstairs bar area of this property was a total building site and the whole place smelt of burnt stripped lead based paint ,it was all over the floor and when we asked where the breakfast was being served he point to a table in the middle of the building site suffice to say we just walked out without staying
Extremely nice and helpful staff; small but very very very clean, tidy and newly refurbished rooms; fantastic breakfast buffet included in the price; 10 minutes walk from Caledonian road tube station (Piccadilly line).
Restructuring works in the building (simply unaesthetic, but not noisy at all); very thin walls (we could hear almost everything happened in the room nearby).
value for money...my only criticism would be that it was a very cold day when I stayed there and the room was freezing, I think in future they should have at least turned the heating on an hour before check in to take the chill off the air to make the room more inviting. Other than that I can't complain, I forgot my hairdryer and the staff were more than happy to assist. Would recommend :)
very warm rooms, quiet
Bar was being refurbished so unable to use, one bathroom to share with 14 rooms
The bar was under refurbishment but this was not mentioned at the time of booking so we were not happy as nowhere to have a late night drink with our friends before bed. Breakfast was served in the reception area with fumes and dust from the referb work. Breakfast was continental which was also not mentioned at the time of booking. Booked a king size room but it was small.
Room was adequate and recently refurbished. Bins empted daily and tea/coffee replenished. Heating and hot water good, with windows for fresh air if wanted.
Top floor (5 flights of stairs) with steep stairs up. Kind staff carried my bag up, but it meant I didn't go out again once I was in from my work commitments! Good exercise but not suitable for those who struggle with stairs!
Couldn't fault the hotel or any of the staff.
The WiFi didn't work but that wasn't really a major issue. Also it was a lot further from the town then we thought but that wasn't really anyones fault.
I got what I expected -- a budget hotel that was comfortable
The location as I suspected involved a bus journey north of Kings X --a bit in no mans land at the moment
All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were a little early but were allowed to check in about an hour earlier than was stated. The breakfast was lovely and the barman made us a special brazilian drink which was really unusual and a nice touch. Pity that there were never many people in the bar area even though we were there Friday/Saturday - what might be considered the busiest time of the week. The location was perfect for Camden town - only a very short walk away. Really close to tube and rail links too. I think you would really struggle to find anywhere of this quality at the price we paid. They also kept our bags for us after check-in for a small charge which was brilliant for us as our train didn't leave until late in the evening.
Shower was difficult to control. Hairdryer blew out cold only. Double bed was really creaky and very uncomfortable. Room was really too warm. Latest time you could stay out til was 12 which is a little too early if you want to go out. Naming of New Market Ale House is a total mis-nomer - there is no Ale at all, it is a Brazilian bar. Shame cos I chose venue especially for the ales :) That being said the drinks on offer were varied and very good.
The pub downstairs, great bar staff, good atmosphere and fantastic brazilian food and music
The room was tiny, the bed squeaked, rock hard and uncomfortable no hot water for the shower and on the last day we checked out and asked for our luggage to be kept in the luggage room until our taxi arrived and were charged, on top of our hotel bill Sad and disappointing, we had spent a fortune, having meals and drinks on both nights and got ripped off at the end, never again.
All basic amenities Nice pub below
Pre arranged later check out with staff on arrival as we had paid a premium price being new years eve... Very rude staff in morning came and demanded we left room within 5 Mins Ruined what would have been an Ok stay
Noisy junction but we were in London so to be expected.
The room is good and staff is also good. The reception can help to keep the luggages for travellers.
The bed have some noise.
Less then half an hour's walk from main stations (St Pancras, Kings Cross, Euston) and the shops / cultural venues of Camden and Kentish Town, but you get a much better stay for your money than you would in those more expensive areas. Good quality fresh and varied (continental / cold) breakfast buffet.
Does appear to be a bit in the middle of nowhere, though the new building work north of Kings Cross is rapidly approaching. Bedroom, shower room (more cubicle) and bed were all good quality / clean / confortable but about as small as you can get away with.
Clean bedding and nice towels, comfortable bed, tea/ coffee making facilities, 3 minute/ £6,50 taxi ride to St Pancras / Kings X stations, good friendly atmosphere in pub, good selection of beers at reasonable prices.
Hand wash basin a bit tiny,( small issue). Other than that good value for a room, so close to all that is on offer in the capital. Its good value for a short one or two night stay.
very nice staff clean room and enough space
the bedding stuff is not so comfortable
