The staff were very friendly. The food was lovely.
Can't think of anything to dislike.
new decor, breakfast, gorgeous superior rooms
broken toilet seat
staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. Excellent food Friendly, traditional inn atmosphere Excellent shower performance
wifi was slow Only one guest iron which staff were unable to locate for me
Friendly staff, comfy room, Wi-Fi, nice breakfast
Nothing to complain about
The only problem I had wuZ the traffic noise at nite an early in the morning very busy road
We have stayed here many times before and will do again....it suits ALL our needs.....good food cleaned rooms, plenty of hot water for showering and above all the proprietor and his wife are so welcoming and accommodating ..
Very little otherwise we wouldn't keep returning.
Room was clean and comfortable. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.
Quality of food was poor, would stay again but probably eat somewhere else.
Carvery and breakfast very good value for money
Room too hot and very busy road kept me awake
The food was very goog ,hot and didnt have to wait for service, friendly staff. good value
Rooms were newly refurbished. Wifi was free.
Kitchen closed at 8.30pm as I arrived. Wifi was painfully slow.
The staff were friendly, helpful and a tea asset to the place. I stayed in the new deluxe rooms which were lovely.
Evening carvery a bit disorganized.
Lovely pub, loads of parking, rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. Lovely little place :)
Nothing about the place was bad, just a shame it's not nearer to Brighton front as thats where we were headed for the night. Taxis were easy to get though
Wifi Size of my room & bathroom
Location My friends room was half the size for same cost! Shower curtain not fixed well - wet bathroom resulted Dower furnishings and decor throughout Rebuilding work was in progress
Room was very good, breakfast was amazing, staff were fab.
Slipping in the bath when having a shower.
breakfast was good, parking was good
The weather was warm and humid. No air conditioning, normally no problem but loud road noise and kitchen ventilation with chip fat smell (set off smoke detector in room) and more noise when the window was open. Location is just a lay-by on a busy dual cariageway.
Great for visiting my daughter at University. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great. Room clean and tidy
Didn't like the fact that it was on a busy road. The whole place could do with bringing up to date as it was a bit drab.
All in all reasonable acommodation. Food choices good. Would have like to see scrambled eggs on breakfast menu.
Room was very noisy, as at the front of the hotel and on the main A27, which is a busy road at all times.
The overall standard was very good and the staff were both helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. It was good to see a lot of maintenance going on and shows that you care about the appearance of the property.
The room was hot so we needed to keep the windows open but then the traffic was more than a little noisy. It would have been nice had there been 2 easy chairs in the room for us . Sitting on the bed is not ideal or particularly comfortable.
Very small room. Very dated. Worn and stained carpet. Cracked tiles in bathroom. Broken lampshade in bedroom. Kitchen extractor system started up at 6.45am. Outlet on flat roof outside bedroom window. VERY noisy. Cooked breakfast under heat lamps from 7.00am barely edible by 8.30am.
I've stayed twice and both times have been very well looked after as a lone female traveller. Good friendly service and a top notch breakfast. Comfortable beds and powerful showers which is always good!
All good, rooms have just been refurbished so in very good order, bar food was very good value , had the cavery on the Thursday,my company will be pleased as it was very inexpensive, would use again if I'm sent down to lewes again.
Twin Rooms were a very good size and bathroom ok, just a pity our shower did not work in one of them. Very good food and a plentiful breakfast included in the price. The pub was being refurbished. Management seemed to be just settling in, well mannered and bar staff very welcoming and helpful.
The noise from the busy dual carriageway at the front of the pub. The website picture is deceiving - looks like it is in a quiet off-road location. Cannot turn right out of Inn to turn back in Newhaven direction - have to drive a distance down dual carriageway before you are able to turn back at a roundabout.
The breakfast will last anyone till the supper time at least. The service is excellent. I thought I had to forget about the WiFi, but the proprietors found the needed European convertor in no time.
My room was sitiuated just above the roof of the kitchen. As a result I had to endure the noise of the compressor at daytime. But the compressor was regularly switched off about 10 pm. So if you are an early bird, you may rely on the compressor which starts at 7 am or 8 am (at Sat and Sun)
Breakfast not much choice breakfast bit dried up
