Clean room with very comfortable bed. Quiet, although near to main road. Breakfast service was v efficient and full English was hot and tasty. Excellent shower. Great location & easy to find. Staff were attentive and efficient.
Room a bit small but for one night this was not a problem. Whole place had a bit of a 1970's feel about it but because it was clean and comfortable this was OK.
Very good value for money, especially for a solo traveller.
You do need a car to get there.
Ideally placed just a few minutes from the University of Sussex campus, nice atmosphere, pub downstairs if we wanted a meal or a drink.
Bedroom was a little hot (and the radiator control was not working).
Mattress was very hard. Breakfast was pretty poor - underdone (greyish) sausages, fatty bacon, very fatty fried bread, fatty scrambled egg (yes really!). Landlord unable to smile at us even once.
Manager was very friendly and helpful. Carvery food excellent and very well priced.
nothing to dislike really
Quietness of the area and comfort of the bed
Not really a bad experience, just after a day of rushing around wanted to come back to room and relax watching tv, but it wasn't working and no phone in room to ask for assistance
Convenient, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Excellent value.
Good location, excellent room and facilities, wifi good. Breakfast excellent.
Easy parking, onsite food and bar facility, good sized room, easy wifi. We had an enjoyable stay and will definately stay there again.
Though the main road was quite close the noise was tollerable and almost inaudible from inside the building. Nothing we can say was poor.
Comfortable bed, very good, big breakfast if you like the full monty. Hospitable. Convenient for University
Couldn't get TV to work - two remotes available and not sure which to use for what
would stay again
Nice pub close to Brighton. Clean rooms, good breakfast.
Next to the highway, although not that noisy.
Good size room, friendly people, comfy beds and nice and peaceful.
We had come by train, and it was new years so it cost us a dmall fortune to travel round by taxis. However with a car it'd be a great location, as easily accessible from the A27.
Easy to find Friendly staff Comfort food on site Warm in spite of frost outside Value for money Easy to get into Brighton
Charming and helpful staff. Very comfortable room. Clean bathroom with bath/shower loads of hot water. Ample and frequently changed towels, soap, shampoos, tea, coffee etc
On main road so some traffic noise, though Room 2 very quiet.
friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean room and bathroom; free wi fi. Note: the location was only 'fair' due to the busy A27, about which the hotel can do nothing; however, we stayed because it was conveniently near friends we were visiting over c'mas - and no-one else had any rooms!
lack of curtains at the little window in Rm 4 so that light shone in all night. Noise of extractor fan from (new) rooms below. A light shone up in the main window of our room (I think from the porch below) and again, the light was intrusive. Would only stay again if we could have a room at the back and NO outside light shining/reflecting into our room.
Staff, facilities, food and service.
A one off maybe? Trouble with cutains Trouble with shower Shower in need of re-groating
The room was lovely, and very clean. The location was ideal for our stay and we would definitely go there again.
Very good price, excellent food , friendly staff, very clean. As someone travelling on business all I wanted was a nice relaxing night.the carvery was value and the breakfast was freshly cooked with lots of choice of hot and cold. I will definitely stay the next time I am in the area
I broke down on the evening and was ultimately picked up by car by the proprietor which was a life-saver and a truly excellent act..I am eternally grateful..I was even phoned to see how I was doing..excellent. The room was fine, the breakfast good, and the courteousness of the proprietor was excellent.
I have no criticisms at all.
Could'nt be any more helpful. Great place to stay.
Had really good time and enjoyed my stay.
Location is a bit off the beaten track.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Good breakfast made available. Thank you
We had a disabled room, and the toilet was too low with no hand rails. We arrived late in the evening along a busy motorway. Although the hotel was well lit, we did overshoot the entrance. The location was just out of town, which is what we required so given full marks.
The hotel itself is very clean and modern, and very good value for money especially with TV, free wifi, and a large breakfast included. It is extremely close to the dual carriageway but even though we could see it from our room, it was triple glazed and we weren't bothered by the road noise at all. We were impressed with the extremely powerful shower! Thank you!
We stayed on a Saturday night and were kept awake by doors banging and people stamping about until gone 1am but obviously this isn't the hotel's fault. The triple glazing panels rattled a bit through the night (but can be easily fixed by wedging a sock in between the panes!).
