Very good price, excellent food , friendly staff, very clean. As someone travelling on business all I wanted was a nice relaxing night.the carvery was value and the breakfast was freshly cooked with lots of choice of hot and cold. I will definitely stay the next time I am in the area
I broke down on the evening and was ultimately picked up by car by the proprietor which was a life-saver and a truly excellent act..I am eternally grateful..I was even phoned to see how I was doing..excellent. The room was fine, the breakfast good, and the courteousness of the proprietor was excellent.
I have no criticisms at all.
Could'nt be any more helpful. Great place to stay.
Had really good time and enjoyed my stay.
Location is a bit off the beaten track.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Good breakfast made available. Thank you
We had a disabled room, and the toilet was too low with no hand rails. We arrived late in the evening along a busy motorway. Although the hotel was well lit, we did overshoot the entrance. The location was just out of town, which is what we required so given full marks.
The hotel itself is very clean and modern, and very good value for money especially with TV, free wifi, and a large breakfast included. It is extremely close to the dual carriageway but even though we could see it from our room, it was triple glazed and we weren't bothered by the road noise at all. We were impressed with the extremely powerful shower! Thank you!
We stayed on a Saturday night and were kept awake by doors banging and people stamping about until gone 1am but obviously this isn't the hotel's fault. The triple glazing panels rattled a bit through the night (but can be easily fixed by wedging a sock in between the panes!).
Comfortable, clean beds. Good breakfast. Obliging when we needed an earlier breakfast.
Our room definitely needs new carpet!
no fruit at breakfast deserts poor quality limited menu
Excellent carvery, excellent staff and a very good room. Thank You.
Convenient, friendly, good food
A bit noisy
Staff, food, room, beds, shower, free wifi, beer, location to The Amex
Situated on the A27 between Lewes and Brighton, ideal as a base to explore the central South Downs National Park. Also ideal if you are a football supporter and are going to watch Brighton and Hove Albion.
Only a bus route serves the hotel. It's halfway between Lewes and Falmer stations so you'd have to drive, bus or walk it. The walk is about half an hour either way.
Place was clean and friendly.
I didn't like the location, driving into the car park and leaving onto A27 and there are no close shops. No information off the local area which would be nice.
the staff were excellent especially the tattooed lady who bent over backwards to help out.we want to bring our son, daughter-in -law and our granddaughter .
Liked the cleanliness and overall comfort. Staff were most helpful. Would stay again
Staff were very nice, food was good. Beer was good. I read reviews on this Hotel before I booked all I can say to the people who complained about it is get a life.
The weather wasn't very good ha ha
The location and general atmosphere were perfect. The room and bathroom were terrific
the mattress was painfully soggy and was several inches below the high wooden ridge so difficult to get out of bed without needing a pillow as a bridge. No fruit for breakfast
As soon as we walked in to the Newmarket we could see how clean and spacious it was. The room was lovely.we couldn't have asked for better.
Clean modern bathroom, comfortable room with flat screen TV and good free WI FI. Excellent breakfast , very friendly and helpful staff. A good choice of hotel with easy access to Brighton ( 4 miles)
the room (big, clean, comfortable); the bathroom; the restaurant and bar area, all decorated for Christmas; ample parking space; good breakfast
the noise from the motorway
Location, food, cleanliness, great staff - can't fault our stay. Great value for money.
The food was excellent, hot and freshly cooked.
The bedrooms could do with an update especially the bathroom.Underneath the taps were grotty.
Nice clean newly fitted out room, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed. Next to busy road bit good soundproofing.
Menu could do with more variation. Chair for the desk please.
The feel and look, friendly & helfpful staff. Large room
awkward juntion from A27
Close to bus stop on Brighton to Lewes route. Pleasant welcome. Comfortable and quiet (room 7).
