very pleasant people who were extremely helpfull and the food was excellent, both the breakfasts and the carvery, and snack menu, it was a great shame that we had the problem with the booking as it wasnt received, and they blamed you and you blamed them but it was sorted in the end, but not something i would recommend. |

The breakfast was good. The room was shabby and the walls needed repairing and decorating. The mirror was missing from the bathroom wall. The room was very hot and noisy as it faced on to the A27 which had traffic on it all night long. |

It was very clean as we found that english hotels can be a bit smudgy as we know from 37 years experience. Compliments are really deserved! Even at very expensive hotels in Brighton with many stars we have found dirty places! The only thing we really can think of is the noise of the fan from the kitchen although it is not a mayor problem. |

Very convenient location for Sussex uni and Newhaven port. Hotel owner/manager (?) customer focused and offered excellent take-away breakfast due to early ferry departure. Well above average clean facilities. Excellent quality/price. Close to busy Lewis-Brighton expressway so a little noisy. Recommend reserving a back room. |

Able to book whole place for family weekend. Rooms pleasant with toiletries. Hotelier very friendly. Reasonably priced for Brighton area. Some rooms not ready until after 4pm - should have been 2pm. Water cold on the Saturday evening and scalding hot Sunday am with fluctuating pressure and temp in shower. My son felt he could not let his 10 year old safely have a shower. |

Very little, management and staff were rude and defensive in the extreme when asked about deficiencies in room amenities. Internet access, though advertised as free, required an access PIN which was not available in room and not given at sign in. When required, later at night no staff were available to assist. |

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and we were in a room away from the road the hotel is situated right on the A27. Easy bus journey into Brighton for only £2.20. There was no fruit available for breakfast not even grapefruit, breakfast times were limited to 8-9am and very strictly adhered to. |

Good location near to Sussex University campus. Carvery was good value. Close to major road - but not a problem. Views from windows weren't great - air conditioning vent. |

The service was personalised as the owners themselves run the hotel. Also the safety of guests is very important to them. No activities surronding this hotel especially after 9.30pm. You are left all in dark. No room telephone facilities hence guest feel cut-off from the world. Hotel building is all alone in the area, hence no market to shop around. |

We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the easy parking which can be difficult in Lewes and Brighton and the freshly cooked breakfast. The room was well presented and comfortable. The outside areas were a lovely surprise. |

The man and wife team that run the hotel were fantastic, very friendly and helpful and always polite even if faced with difficult situations as was the case with my friends who had booked to stay but the room had been released. |

Very quiet and convenient to Lewes, and the price was very reasonable. The breakfast was good and the service of the meal was good. The car park was large, although access to the road to Lewes was difficult(we needed to travel toward Brighton and there is no direct access to the Lewes road.) The room was good and clean, but there was a tired feel about the room. eg on turning on the water taps in the sink the whole tap (h&c) turned and needed a hand to hold the tap,& one to turn the water on. |
