We had an excellent holiday. The room was really clean. The owners Martin and Suki were really warm and welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location was great, right in the centre of Newport so handy for the shops, restaurants and quayside. Newport is in the centre of the Isle and so we were able to easily get all across the island and back each day. The pay and display parking outside was a bit of a pain, but you are in a city centre so, it's to be expected but we got a Tourist pass from the Council office which took away the hassle of getting up to feed the meter etc. We were out all day, so on balance it took away any hassle of the early morning meter feed but was expensive.

Very nice welcome, and just seemed very professionally run. Brilliant to have dependable wifi. No real complaints, I think the plumbing was a bit noisy during the night.

Very friendly staff. Found the bed too hard, but thats just my bad back, and hard beds make an uncomfortable night.

The owners were wonderful, charming hotel and the breakfasts were great. Very tiny bathrooms, but understandable due to the size and age of hotel.

Very central to shops / town centre. Good breakfast and friendly staff Rooms were very small and cramped. Door was rattled all night. This appears to be caused by the air pressure every time someone came through the main corrider doors but very irritating.

Nice friendly welcome; room was very clean; decent breakfast freshly cooked with good service. Single room was really a bit too small but otherwise ok.

The full English Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. We also appreciate the fact that the timeframe for breakfast enabled us to be totally relaxed. And of course the ambience!!!!!! We very much enjoyed chatting with the hotel owners and staff and sharing laughs with other guests yet we did not feel compelled to socialize. *note: we are from Canada and our 2 experiences in Canada were most disappointing because on both occasions, the B&B owner decided the specific time the guest is allowed to sit at the table and then sat with us to make small talk. My Canadian friends tell me that is how it should be but I disagree and really appreciate the British respect for privacy. We have no complaints, just comments. Room #4 is small, which is quite understandable. Is the bed King or Queen size? Perhaps a double would fit better and then we could open the clothes cupboard door better. The shorter of us could not reach the bathroom fan button. And the kettle could do with a good scrubbing.

quirky B&B, nice old building, very good breakfast, freshly prepared for you, lots of choice, new bathroom with bubblebath, wifi in the room, it could be even more beautiful when the building would be restored keeping the original features like cabinets, windows, doors etc bubble bath is very noisy, no problem for us, but maybe for the other guests? the mirror is strangely placed, too far to use it properly (because of a deep cabinet), room is much smaller than you would expect after seeing the foto's on internet

A pleasant and very clean hotel with brilliant staff and a good breakfast. Seemed very expensive for a small b&b with limited facilities, but if the guy can fill the rooms at that price, fair play to him.

Location, on-street car parking right outside Great breakfast No evening meal facility, and nearby restaurants booked up or don't take orders after 9.00 pm

A beautiful building with many original features, well converted to a high quality B&B/hotel. The couple running it are friendly and very welcoming. The actual room we stayed in was warm, clean and contained old furniture which gave it a personable and relaxing feel. The 4 poster bed (which I was looking forward to) was modern and somewhat dissapointing, but the actual sleep was comfortable. The en suit bathroom was spacious and very clean. Would have preferred more tea bags by the kettle in the room. The breakfast options were fantastic! Overall, a lovely, welcoming comfortable stay! Recommended. Not that keen on paying for the street parking outside the hotel, but the stay was worth it.

Friendly, functional and clean - small bedroom but had everything you needed and charming owner on hand. Perfect for a short break. Cooked Breakfast selection comprehensive and appetising. Thin room walls so you could hear the spoken conversation next door. If you have a room at the front you will hear road noise and bells chiming although both quitened down by 10ish.

This is a low-cost small hotel which provided excellent service, a very friendly welcome, a comfortable and well equipped room, and a good breakfast. It does not claim to offer the facilities of a large hotel, but what it does offer it does very well indeed.

The genial host and wonderful breakfast The meter fed car parking (8.00am-6.00pm) outside the property was expensive, there was a long stay car park available about 5 mins walk away though beside the quay but not convenient for us

Very friendly & efficient staff. Location is excellent, only a few minutes walk to the town centre but Quay Street is very quiet. The breakfast is superb. Very clean throughout. Plenty of on street parking bays, free from 18.00-08.00 Excellent value for money.

I liked the location. I normally stay at the Premier Inn so it swas nice to be in the town for a change. My room was a single room so I wasnt expecting much space but I was surprised by just how compact it was withe a very small room for the shower an toilet facilities.
